Damn, I Don't Want to Build a Business Empire
Chapter 56: This is Jin Wu, your new office director.
CHAPTER 56: THIS IS JIN WU, YOUR NEW OFFICE DIRECTOR.
Suho leaned back, relieved. He’d tell Jin Wu tomorrow. For now, he had another headache: the money arriving tomorrow.
He counted on his fingers. ’Six hundred thousand from Jin Wu’s cursed million. Add the rookie Wu Yu’s hundred thousand. Seven hundred thousand in total. Damn it, that’s too much.’
He chewed the end of his pen. Solutions came. Horny Princess Interactive had over thirty workstations. Replace them all with brand-new equipment—three hundred thousand gone. That left four hundred.
’Fabric. Always fabric.’ He scribbled a note. A fresh batch would chew another three hundred thousand.
’And the last hundred? Fine. Team-building event. Game company and clothing factory staff together. Karaoke, booze, whatever burns cash fastest.’
He exhaled, shoulders loosening. ’Perfect. Seven hundred thousand gone as soon as it comes. Crisis contained. Barely.’
The Next Morning—Outside the Workshop
The yard echoed with footsteps and panting breaths. Employees jogged their daily laps under the gray sky. Suho stood with arms crossed, watching them like a general inspecting troops. His eyes narrowed when he saw Jin Wu among them, sweat dripping, chest heaving.
’Hah. Run, you bastard. Enjoy it while you can. Once you’re shipped off to Horny Princess, no more running, no more sales, no more million-dollar headaches.’
He almost sighed with regret. Watching Jin Wu suffer through morning runs was one of his daily joys. But the bigger joy would be watching his sales numbers disappear.
After the run, workers filed back into the workshop. Suho called out casually, "Jin Wu, come to my office later."
"Yes, Boss!" Jin Wu panted, hand on his knees. His tone was cheerful, oblivious.
Office, Steel Cup T-Shirt Factory
Suho didn’t wait long. Soon, Jin Wu walked in, hair still damp from a shower. He looked refreshed, even eager.
"Boss, what’s the matter?" Jin Wu asked, puzzled.
Suho smiled warmly, the kind of smile that always hid knives. "Sit down. We’ll talk slowly."
Jin Wu obeyed, pulling a chair close.
"You’ve been in sales a long time," Suho began. "Ever thought about climbing higher?"
Jin Wu frowned. "Boss, I’m just a salesman. The only ladder I know is bringing in more orders. The more I sell, the more commission I get. That’s how I provide for my family." He laughed bitterly. "I barely studied when I was young. Sales was the only path open."
Suho steepled his fingers. Outwardly kind, inwardly gleeful. ’Perfect. He doesn’t even suspect.’
"That’s not necessarily the case. You know I acquired a new game company, Horny Princess Interactive. They’re short on manpower. I want to transfer you there as office director. A promotion. A higher salary. No more chasing customers."
Jin Wu’s jaw dropped. "Office director? Boss, I never went to college. I don’t know the first thing about managing an office!"
Suho chuckled. ’Exactly why I picked you.’ Out loud, he said, "That’s fine. You’ll learn. The internet has everything these days. Courses, guides—you’ll improve as you go. And honestly, you’re the only one I can trust. I’ve thought long and hard. Only you make me feel at ease."
Jin Wu’s eyes grew moist. He swallowed hard. For the first time in years, someone had trusted him this much and valued him this openly. He bowed his head, voice thick. "Boss... thank you."
"Thank you, Boss Kim, for trusting me so much. I’ll give it my best. If it doesn’t work out, you can transfer me back anytime. I won’t complain."
Jin Wu bowed, gratitude shining in his eyes.
"This is the right attitude. Do it well," Kim Suho said with a rare sigh of relief. Finally, Jin Wu was out of the sales department. One less disaster to worry about.
"Go back, hand things over to Wu Yu. Tomorrow I’ll take you to the new company."
"Yes, Boss." Jin Wu nodded and left, practically glowing with pride.
Moments later, Cho Rin walked in carrying a steaming cup of coffee. She looked hesitant. "Boss, if Jin Wu is transferred out, doesn’t that leave only Wu Yu in the sales department? That might be too thin."
Suho accepted the coffee, took a sip, and waved her concern away. "It’s fine. Better training for Wu Yu. And if he can’t handle it, tell HR to hire two more. Fresh graduates only. No experienced sharks."
Cho Rin blinked. She didn’t quite understand, but she nodded. "Understood."
Suho smirked to himself. ’Three rookies together won’t bring in half the trouble Jin Wu caused alone. Perfect.’
Sales Office, Later
"Brother Jin, you’re back!" Wu Yu bounded up, excited. "When are you heading out to meet clients? Let’s go together."
Jin Wu looked at him quietly for a moment, then sighed. "Wu Yu, from now on... you might be the only one in the sales department."
Wu Yu froze. "What do you mean? Did you resign?!"
Jin Wu glared. "You brat, I didn’t resign. I’ve been transferred. From now on, you’re alone in sales. But don’t panic. Just follow what I taught you. Be diligent. Call me if you really get stuck."
Wu Yu nodded hard. "Got it, Brother Jin. But... what position are you going to?"
"Office director at Boss Kim’s new company." Jin Wu puffed up slightly, then realized Wu Yu looked confused. He chuckled. "You didn’t know? Boss Kim acquired a game company—Horny Princess Interactive. I’ll be working there now."
Wu Yu’s jaw dropped. "Boss Kim has another company?!"
"What did you think?" Jin Wu patted his shoulder like an older brother. "Work hard. Maybe you’ll be promoted next time."
The Next Day – Horny Princess Interactive
At the gate, Fen Su was already waiting. Suho had called ahead. When they arrived, he stepped forward quickly. "Boss Kim, everyone’s here. We can head straight to the conference room."
"Good." Suho gestured to Jin Wu. "This is Jin Wu, your new office director."
Fen Su blinked, then smiled warmly and extended his hand. "Welcome, Director Jin. I’m Fen Su. Looking forward to working with you."
Jin Wu shook his hand, nervous but proud.
Inside the conference room, department heads were gathered. After Suho’s introductions, Jin Wu was installed as office director—effectively second-in-command under Fen Su.
