Chapter b578 /b

There was no denying that Jayson had saved her tonight. Ariel wasn’t so petty that she wouldn’t thank

    him. Still…

She frowned slightly, surprised by how Jayson had treated Nancy.

Jayson turned the car around. ncing at her, he replied unhurriedly, “You’re wee.”

Silence settled again, heavy and ufortable.

Ariel knew he had saved her and made sure Nancy and Sarah wouldn’t escape punishment. He had done a lot for her. Yet, she remained cool–headed, choosing to treat these matters separately.

Whether Jayson was sincere didn’t matter. Tonight, he had also been settling personal scores with Nancy. Their past had nothing to do with her–she had simply been dragged into it.

She reminded herself not to overthink, not to make baseless assumptions. Since Jayson had never shared his true thoughts, all she could do was thank him politely.

“Do you need GPS navigation?” Ariel asked after a while. They were still some distance from her

    residential area.

Neither of them wanted to continue the earlier topic.

Jayson kept his eyes on the road, half his face hidden in the shadows. “It’s alright. I know the way.b” /b

Ariel nced at him curiously but said nothing more. She had no intention of making small talk. Strangely, it almost felt as though nothing had happened tonight.

As they neared her neighborhood, a sudden thought urred to her. “What were you doing in this area just now?b” /b

Jayson had shown up at the exact right moment to pull her out of danger.

He gave her a sideways nce and eased the car to the side of the road. “Are you really curious about the reason, or are you just asking ifor /ithe sake of it?”

His words didn’t make much sense.

Ariel frowned at him, wondering if that made any difference at all. She chose to ignore him.

Then, opening the door, she stepped out of the car.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a small dent on the sleek Rolls–Royce Sweptail, the paint scratched in cesb. /bIt needed inspection, but at least the vehicle was still running smoothly.

Jayson unbuckled his seatbelt and got out, supporting one arm slightly. “I’ll walk you up if you’re still

    feeling scared.”

Ariel caught the awkward way he moved.

She walked over, grasped his sleeve, and checked his arm. Jayson simply stood still, looking down at her. The fabric of his shirt was tom. Beneath it, a long cut ran across his skin, beads of blood seeping out. It was hard to tell if there were fractures, but it was clear why he had barely moved that arm.

Her brows knitted tightly. “Why didn’t you say anything earlier? I should’ve been the one driving.”

It also exined why he had been using only one hand to drive earlier.

Jayson shifted slightly, angling his body so she couldn’t keep staring at the wound. He spoke lightly,” You were too shaken up earlier. If I’d let you drive in that state, we might really have ended up in a crash.”

Ariel’s face darkened. She was certain her emotions had been stable enough.

They had reached her residential area, but Jayson clearly needed medical attention. However, inviting him upstairs was out of the question.

Instead, she walked around to the driver’s seat, opened the door, and nced at him. “Get in. I’ll take byou /bto the hospital.”

It had already been a chaotic evening.

If Jayson had told her earlier, she would have asked Arthur to take him while she caught a cab home.

This time, Jayson didn’t refuse. He slid into the passenger seat and even tilted his head toward her. “It’s not too much trouble for you, is it?”

Ariel’s gaze turned frosty. She didn’t bother answering such an obvious question.

She wasn’t used to driving a Rolls–Royce Sweptail, but Jayson calmly guided her through the controls.

Fortunately, the hospital was nearby. She pressed the elerator, and before long, they pulled up to the

    emergency room.

Even at night, the ER was bustling with people.

Ariel, in her light gray cardigan over a white tank top, with a matching mid–length skirt and nude slippers, looked simple and rxed. She hurried inside to fetch a nurse.
