In the pastb, /bAriel often liaised with the team managing Bluum Corp’s official social media ount.
Because of thatb, /bshe knew its protocols better than anyone.
Any post made on thepany’s official ount had to go through several rounds of review to ensure there were no errors or issues. Yet, the post she was now looking at read-
“Hello, everyone. I’m Ariel Walker’s husband, Jayson Larkin. In our marriage, I was the one who fell for her first and longed for her to be my partner. I hope everyone will stop spreading false rumors that damage my wife’s reputation. Please allow us to live peacefully and stand by each other’s side.
“Both my wife and I hold firm on certain principles. I was never forced into this marriage. I trust those who know better won’t be swayed by baseless gossip. If it isn’t too much to ask, we’d be grateful for your blessings and well wishes. Wishing everyone a wonderful day.”
The message was simple yet meaningful–concise, polite, and sincere without being overly formal.
The post was quickly racking up likes and shares.
Ariel stared at it for a long moment before putting her phone away, her expression unreadable.
Once, she might have felt ted. But things had changed. Her feelings toward Jayson had shifted ever
since their rtionship did. She knew he was only doing this to maintain appearances.
Noticing her brief distraction, Jayson turned to her. “Grandma saw the article online. She’s worried. After this event, will youe with me to see her? It would ease her mind.”
Ariel couldn’t possibly say no to that.
Tonight, Jayson had spent a staggering amount of money to quell spection and malicious rumors
about her. He had even made a public deration of love on Bluum Corp’s official ount to silence
gossip.
No matter how she looked at it, she owed him a great deal. Ariel knew it was only fair to return the favor.
“Sure,” she replied.
Nearby, Cecilia swirled the wine in her ss as she watched the pair whispering to each other. Her face remained expressionless until she finally smiled and approached Ariel.
Resting an arm lightly on Ariel’s shoulders, Cecilia said, “You should be mindful of those watching. We need to sign the donation certificate soon. Shall we go together?b” /b
Ariel nced at her but didn’t refuse.
From behind, Jayson’s gaze lingered on the two women, his expression unreadable.

The evening had reached its peak the moment Jayson arrived. It was spected that this year’s charity fundraising total had already surpassed previous years.
Guests from various sectors approached Ariel to greet her, showing admiration and respect for her aplishments while tactfully avoiding any mention of Jayson.
Thanks to her years of experience in public rtions, Ariel mingled effortlessly.
By the time the event ended, it was just past 8:00 pm.
Before leaving, Cecilia leaned close to Ariel and murmured, “What a pity. Samson’s feelings for you were genuine. I hope you won’t be too cold to him the next time you meet. After all, this is his first time experiencing unrequited love.”
Ariel knew she’d be seeing Samson often after joining the research team–it was inevitable.
Yet, she didn’t give a clear answer.
Cecilia continued nonchntly, “Well, I’ll see you around. You must join me the next time I ask you out. I
see you as a friend now.”
Ariel’s clear eyes met hers. “See you next time.”
Cecilia arched a brow and grinned. Her gaze flicked to Jayson standing behind Ariel. “You’re wee to join us too if you’re free, Mr. Larkin,” she said lightly.
Jayson gave a polite nod. Without waiting for a response, Cecilia turned and stepped into her car.
Ariel turned back to Jayson. “Are we heading to Larkin Manor?”
Jayson held his hand out. “Give me your car keys. Grandma is waiting at the marital home. I’ll drive.”
“What about your car?” Ariel frowned.
“Arthur took the car to handle some work matters. I don’t have a car right now,” Jayson replied evenly.
