Chapter b624 /b

Cecilia’s words hit out of nowhere.

Matt almost choked on his drink. He shot her a stunned look.

Jayson slowly turned to face her. His gaze was indifferent.

Cecilia didn’t care about his expression in the slightest. She swirled her sszily. “I suddenly find this all so meaningless, Jayson. A few years ago you rejected me, saying you had a crush. Back then, you and Ariel weren’t married yet. Tell me, it wasn’t her, was it?”

Matt was suddenly hit with a shocking revtion. He practically jumped up on instinct and rushed forward to block anyone froming this way.

Cecilia tilted her head and smiled. Her stunning eyes were fixed on him. “I hope it wasn’t, or it’d really bruise my ego.”

A man like Jayson never spared even a shred of courtesy when he didn’t care. No matter how much effort or scheming she had used back then, he remained unmoved. Even when she became emotionally unstable because of his coldness, he still didn’t spare her so much as a nce.

She even wondered if the “crush” Jayson had mentioned was just something he made up to mess with her. In her eyes, people like him didn’t understand love.

“Ms. Pryce, that has nothing to do with you,” Jayson said, his tone t.

As always, he offered no courtesy, but Cecilia was long used to it. Jayson had been far harsher in the past.

“Of course. I’m just curious how important Ariel is to you.” Cecilia let out a chuckle. “You protected her like crazy when that rumor popped up onlinest time. What if there’s proof this time?”

Under the dim light, Jayson’s eyes revealed nothing.

Cecilia watched him with a soft smile. “Jayson, let’s discuss the terms. Do you want her reputation destroyed to be the infamous ‘scandalous scientist‘ or divorce her and marry me? You should know that Ariel is nothingpared to my family.”

She studied his face without blinking, searching for even the slightest flicker of reaction.

In truth, no matter how he responded, it wouldn’t exactly thrill her.

    “Proof?” Jayson stepped closer.

Cecília knew he would probably snap, but she didn’t care. Years ago, he had wounded her pride, yet she never asked him to pay for it.

She casually pulled out a few photos.

Jayson’s gaze fell on them for just a moment. That single nce was enough to stir a dark, tangled emotion in his eyes.

Cecilia liked watching him in these silent moments. He wasn’t as cutting.

“Think about it, Jayson. Why drag this out for years? Why hold Ariel backb?/bb” /b

Unexpectedly, Jayson moved closer and tore the photos apart again and again. His expression was nk as he asked, “Ms. Pryce, if I’m not mistaken, your father is set to step down in about a year, right?”

A cold edge crept into Cecilia’s smile. “What are you implying?”

Jayson stuffed the scraps into his pocket, his gaze darkening. “At a time like this, will he choose to step down honorably or drag trouble onto himself?”

“Jayson, don’t go too far.” Cecilia’s expression froze. She was surprised that Jayson would say something

    like that.

Had he lost his mind? Did he even know what he was saying?

Jayson lowered his gaze. The edges of his eyes were sharp as frost. “Maybe we’ll discuss the terms when you’re in your father’s position. Until then, Ms. Pryce, don’t get ahead of yourself. I can y this game, but byou /bmight not be able to handle it.”

With that, he turned and left. Even his back radiated cold, merciless power.

For a moment, Cecilia felt that she was dragged back to two years ago.

Jayson had always been ruthless with her.

Even when she had reached the point of threatening him, he could still coldly reply, “If you choose to die, don’t expect me ito /iclean up your body. You have nothing to do with me.”
