CHAPTER 300: CHAPTER 300

Early in the morning, Aaron woke up as he usually did.

When he woke up, he was alone in the house. His parents made him breakfast before they left for the restaurant.

As the night business decreased, Aurora restaurant, which usually tended to clients during evenings and nights, now shifted to noon and evenings. If things don’t improve soon, they might turn into a Morning and Noon restaurant, which would close before evening.

Aaron washed up quickly before eating the breakfast that his parents had stored in the fridge. As usual, there is also lunch in another box for him.

His shift starts at noon. So, usually, he would eat his lunch before going to the base to punch in for his shift start. Until then, it would be his rest period.

Ever since the moment after his awakening, he was always on the run for something, primarily to gain levels, a few times for loot, so that they could be used to pay for his dungeon entrance fee.

If not in the dungeons, he would be found in the academy’s library, where he found a lot of knowledge that he had no idea about. If he had access to such information from the start of his life, maybe he wouldn’t have had to scramble like that after awakening, but he didn’t. It is what it is.

So, in his mind, he has to gather as much information as possible before the four years are up. Once those four years were gone, he had to gain information in his own way. No piece of information would be handed out so simply like that.

It was why he concentrated on levelling up or increasing his knowledge.

After almost two years of working, with the only entertainment being his girls, he can finally do things slowly. There was no need to rush. He can develop and enjoy life at the same time.

After eating breakfast, he sat on the sofa and turned on the TV to watch the news and see if anything had happened. As it happens, something new did happen, and when he turned on the TV, it was the breaking news on every channel.

--

Breaking News: The Alliance curbed a terrorist attack from the cult in multiple cities. Some of the cities came unscathed, while some were burned and saw a lot of death. The cities targeted were Rock City, Mason City, Coral City...

--

When he saw the news, he was surprised, shocked, and felt fear and relief all at the same time. It was not just his feelings. Everyone in the Rock City felt that. Even the people who were saved in time felt that many had to see what happened live.

How could he not be?

His parents still live here, and he has no idea what happened during the night.

The cults moved against the city, but somehow the alliance was able to curb the danger. Even though he didn’t know about that, even if the alliance failed to curb it as it happened in other cities completely, he would have saved his parents.

That was not the problem.

The issue was that if he had not returned home and the alliance failed to curb the cultists completely, then there was a chance that his parents would have been harmed in the process.

"Everything went well this time. What about next? Not every time the alliance would be this successful, nor would I be there as an insurance for their safety. They need to get strong. No need to fight armies, but strong enough to defend themselves", Aaron muttered to himself as he started to think of a way to do that.

He started to think of ways to improve his parents, not boosting them externally but improving their true strength.

External Items could be destroyed by wear and tear, and over time. Also, they can be stolen easily, but internal strength, which would be their own. It can’t be easily controlled.

There are skills that restrict one’s internal strength, but those skills are rare, and the price they demand is very high. Unless the enemy has a blood debt, it is very unlikely that they would use such skills.

So, the chances of someone using such skills on his parents are very low, unless someone who hates him tries to make him miserable through his parents.

They are cooks after all. Not many would be envious of their positions.

Aaron is not naive enough to think that no one was envious of his parents, especially after their promotions that came with his position in the alliance exam. The restaurant gave them promotions to make a link with Aaron.

He knows that. Everyone knows that.

So, there should be some who felt that his parents only got the promotion because of their son. They should have felt that was inappropriate, but the fear of getting fired would have kept them in check.

People are always envious of other people.

No one is above envy—even him.

Sometimes, he was envious of students who came from rich and powerful families. If he had been born in a rich and powerful family, he could have shown his strength more openly, though some secrets, like his talent, his bloodline, and his physique, have to stay secret forever.

Due to being born in a common family, there were a lot of gaps in his knowledge, which he started to fill by burying himself in the library most of the time.

If not for the girls, he wouldn’t have had a social circle.

The ones that were close to him were either the girls he was sleeping with or the ones who came with him to the Alliance tournament the previous year.

Except for them, his social circle is almost non-existent.

His shy behaviour and lack of time essentially limited his social circle. He knew that in any world, connections are meaningful, more than that, beneficial. They may not be crucial, but they could help make life easier.

Now he was thinking about how to improve his parents’ strength faster. They could only gain EXP from cooking. If he had the proper connections, he could have asked for help, and he could have known that his talent was not the only EXP booster in existence.

It was how Mary was so fast when it came to levelling, almost close to Aaron, even though he now has a 100x booster.

He could have used his connections to obtain those methods to help his parents, but he doesn’t, as such things are rare and even knowledge of them is restricted.

Not many knew about such things, as they are rare, and if the existence of such things were made public, it could cause more harm than gain. There are many such things in existence that are covered up as restricted information.

One either has to stumble on their own or must have sufficient privileges to gain access to such knowledge.

Ring! Ring!

As Aaron was trying to think of a way to help his parents, his communicator rang. He frowned when he looked at the incoming number, which was something he didn’t recognise.

He didn’t give out his communicator number to many.

"Hello?" he picked up to see who it was.

When he heard who it was on the other side, he was surprised.
