Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 550: It’s not the time yet.
CHAPTER 550: IT’S NOT THE TIME YET.
The winds of the Northern Realm suddenly became boisterous. Just now, the words of Ilois had awakened Fisher’s memories from half a year ago. In Philone City on the South Continent, when he defeated Philone, he saw that giant eye. It turned out it had always been by his side, watching him, never leaving!
Fisher’s Magic Circuit lit up all over his body in an instant, and the chill spreading from behind made him suddenly want to know why it had always followed him.
"Fisher, the Moon Rabbit Species is about to fall!"
But now was not the time to think about the ins and outs of the situation. Hearing Emhardt’s voice, Fisher abruptly pulled himself out of his thoughts and focused on Ilois, who was about to fall from the edge of the Bell Tower.
Her current trajectory was towards the coast; if she fell, she would plunge into the sea.
The out-of-control Ilois’s face became extremely pale, and she hurriedly closed her eyes and tightly hugged her body in fear of the chaotic night wind around her.
But in the next moment, she suddenly felt a gust of wind violently approaching her. It was Fisher activating his still-unhealed body to run towards Ilois, hoping to catch her before she fell.
Fisher reached the edge in an instant, but even with all his effort, he was a step too slow; half of her body had already fallen, and given that she had closed her eyes accepting her fate, it was impossible for her to react and reach out to him. Fisher could only look towards the pair of slender ears on her head.
Unable to grasp her hands, he had to find a handle to grab, and so Fisher decisively caught ahold of the pair of soft ears on her head with one hand, and then firmly pressed his right hand against her abdomen, pushing with his left hand and pulling with his right, drawing her in a half-circle over his shoulder and back into the interior of the Bell Tower.
The moment he touched her slender ears, Fisher instantly felt each soft and fine hair; then came the warm body temperature hidden beneath them. This was an exceptionally rare sensation, so much so that Fisher was momentarily stunned for a second.
He seemed to understand why the Contributor of the Demi-human Girls’ Completion Manual had categorized Moon Rabbit Species and other demi-humans under "cotton candy"; the soft fur on their body made Fisher’s heart melt as if it were in cotton candy.
"Uu~"
"Ilois, are you okay?"
"Ah... Ah? I... I... um..."
Ilois’s brain seemed to crash at that moment. The shock of falling from the building, the terror of seeing the monster behind Mr. Fisher, the embarrassment and sensitivity from her ears being touched—all bombarded her confused mind in rapid succession. So, when Fisher questioned her, she was still dazed and couldn’t figure out what had happened.
Ah, what just happened? It’s like, my ears were... Ahhh!
Ilois’s face instantly flushed red, and her heartbeat quickened. She had just tried to open her eyes to look at Fisher, but instead of just seeing his handsome face, behind him, a massive, semi-illusory eye was also staring at her.
It was an eerie existence, like both a mouth and an eye, spanning across the sky like a giant Gate, making it difficult to distinguish fantasy from reality. Inside the black-hole-like pupil seemed to fall the stars and souls of the entire universe. Seeing such a being so close filled Ilois with an instant peak of fear and insignificance, nearly overwhelming her mind.
"Uuuaaah! A ghost!!"
Ilois, held in Fisher’s arms, suddenly rolled her eyes back and fainted from fear, leaving behind only the bright moonlight and Fisher and Emhardt, who were staring at each other, bewildered.
"Emhardt, you mentioned before that the Moon Rabbit Species can see things hidden from others, right? So, does that mean what she saw is really there?"
"Ah, if the records are correct, that should be the case... Who knows what she saw on you, maybe she was frightened by the sight of my grandeur? Scared by one of my eyes?"
"..."
In the church’s first floor, Fisher started a fire outside the door of her small resting room. The church was cold at night, and the flames would help someone fall asleep better. After doing all this, he turned his gaze back to Ilois, who was resting inside. She had been startled, and he estimated she wouldn’t wake up for a while.
But now, settled down, he began to ponder the eye behind himself that Ilois had seen.
Although he could not be sure of its purpose for following and watching him, Fisher could roughly confirm it meant him no harm and that it probably followed him because it was related to items like the Completion Manual.
At that time, after he killed Philone, the giant eye appeared before him and told him in Nali Language that it owed him one. This indicated that killing Philone was a result it wanted to see—perhaps Philone’s actions were detrimental to it, or maybe all Completion Manual owners were a threat to it.
At the same time, its existence reminded Fisher of something else: the Completion Manual was not entirely invisible; it could be perceived by others.
