CHAPTER 834: CHAPTER 5: RENIE ARRIVES 2

"Boohoo, stop chasing me, I can’t fight you all... Help, someone is bullying me! Fisher, boohoo, I’m so scared, come save me!"

"What the hell, Fisher? Stop right there, or we’ll use Magic!"

"Elder Farlute, Elder Quico, President Kazawood just wants to invite you back to Kado, stop running, stop!"

The pursuers from behind are getting closer, and the two former elders, forced into a corner, have bloodshot eyes. Kazawood has never gotten along with them, and now these relics from the past are unlikely to make it back in one piece.

But facing this strange Witch ahead, who surprisingly holds clues to the Mother Goddess, they decide to stake everything, gritting their teeth and raising their hands towards the back of the running black-haired woman. At the same time, two beams of Middle Ages magical light begin to gather.

"Whoosh!"

Yet at this critical moment, a flowing mercury-colored sword blade suddenly bursts from the nearby forest, instantly piercing through the hands of one elder, blood spraying everywhere. Their expressions change, and they look in surprise to the side, only to have a large book, glowing with golden light and bigger than a human head, slam into the face of the other uninjured elder.

"Someone else?"

"It’s you, Grandpa Emhardt!"

Renie, who was running ahead, seems to sense something and quickly turns to look to the side. It’s been a while since she’s seen the Nali Gentleman who is resting one hand against a tree and panting heavily. Though different from his usual strong, healthy image, he quietly holds the Fluid Sword, his eyes fixed on the charming black-haired lady.

He coughs twice, studying the beautiful woman in front of him thoroughly. Despite his exhaustion, he still manages a smile and retracts the Fluid Sword extended from his hand.

"Renie, you’re back... cough cough..."

"Fisher!"

Before Renie’s joyful expression can fully form, it quickly fades a little. Her deep purple eyes slightly narrow, glancing at Fisher... and at the empty space behind him, as if she sees something there.

Then, she frowns slightly and opens her mouth as if to say something, and behind the two elders, one clutching their injured hand and the other cradling their head in pain, are dozens of members in Witch Research Association uniforms, holding Magic, fire pistols, and swords, rapidly surrounding them with hostile expressions.

"Still running, huh? Oh, this is..."

The leader kicks one of the elders crawling on the ground, glances up at Renie standing in front, and suddenly starts to breathe heavily in disbelief. The person before him seemingly possesses a rich aura of the Mother Goddess unparalleled by any other witch. He quickly releases the elder underfoot and moves two steps toward Renie, his eyes gradually turning crimson.

"The Mother Goddess’s blessing... where did you get it from? Quickly, tell us!"

Renie, belatedly moving her gaze from Fisher, pauses for two or three seconds, then seemingly frightened by the fierce-looking members of the Witch Research Association, takes a step back, saying,

"I... how would I know, I’m just an ordinary witch... who are you all? Fisher, I’m scared..."

"An ordinary witch, heh, that makes it easier..."

As the leader of the Witch Research Association steps forward with ill intentions, Fisher arrives in front of Renie. With her familiar scent wafting to his nose, he inexplicably breathes a sigh of relief, then glances back at the pitiful Renie hiding behind him, and then at the approaching Emhardt.

"Emhardt, cough cough... get ready to go."

Emhardt nods, curiously eyeing the beautiful woman meeting him for the first time and hiding behind Fisher. She seems like an ordinary witch, perhaps one of Fisher’s ex-girlfriends?

"Go? You’re so sick and still want to go somewhere. Want us to get you a wheelchair or something?"

With this remark, the Witch Research Association members let out mocking laughter, raising their fire pistols at Fisher. Fisher coughs, his Fluid Sword flickering, clearly ready to strike.

"Mr. Fisher, wait! Hey, you’re pushing yourself so hard when you’re near death! What will I do if you die? I’m here to help you..."

Just as both sides are about to clash, the Death Lord suddenly makes an appearance on the hill where Fisher came from, shouting down to Fisher below. He’s borrowing his coat, making Fisher raise an eyebrow, wondering if he’s drunk and planning to do something perverse in public.

Unexpectedly, as the Death Lord unfastens his leather coat, the blue-green translucent threads tied to his body instantly become visible. Neither the Witch Research Association nor Fisher can decipher what it is, but floating on Fisher’s shoulder, Emhardt’s expression changes slightly, shouting at Fisher,

"Is that guy an idiot? That’s the Elf Species’ [Yu Zi Square Axis], he’s going to blow up McDowell! Stop that lunatic!"

Fisher harbors no doubt, but the Witch Research Association members snicker, wondering if the people before them are performing some circus act,

"Yeah right, Elf Species... stop bragging, just die already."

Their fingers quickly pull the trigger, Fisher’s eyes narrowing as a dangerous fate stirs on the distant hill, and the fire pistol in front erupts with brilliant sparks. His Fluid Sword pauses mid-air, his body moving aside to completely shield Renie behind him, ensuring she won’t be hit.

Death Lord!!

In this crucial moment, Renie’s eyes turn a deep shade of purple, seemingly containing a vast galaxy. Casually glancing at the Death Lord in the distance, whose body threads slowly glow, the next second, the threads on the Death Lord’s body dim, and the Death Lord stumbles and falls to the ground, instantly losing consciousness.

"Bang!"

"Ren..."

The blast of the fire pistol erupts, and just as Fisher’s Fluid Sword is about to intercept the bullet, Renie gently pulls Fisher in front of her. In his astonished gaze, both of them are enveloped by layers of purple light, becoming ethereal. The bullet passes through their bodies, and simultaneously they dash away at incredible speed.

"Fisher!!"

Initially, Emhardt thought Fisher was about to get shot and nearly had his soul frightened out of him. But turning around, he notices the witch named "Renie" has dragged Fisher far away, leaving him behind.

Emhardt opens his mouth dumbfounded, exchanges glances with the equally stunned Witch Research Association members, then, filled with rage, curses and quickly follows in the direction Renie fled,

"That witch really is no good! Fisher! I haven’t caught up with you yet!"

The sky gradually darkens, with the setting sun slowly consumed by the sky, leaving only a scarlet tail on the distant horizon, replaced by the deep and boundless night.

The Witch Research Association member holding the fire pistol incredulously watches Renie, the witch growing more distant, spits impatiently at the ground, glances at the two former elders lying on the ground, and instructs his subordinates,

"Forget about those two for now, just knock them out and tie them up here. Don’t worry about the lunatic on the hill either... what’s most important now is that witch. The thick Blessing of the Mother Goddess on her isn’t fake. We have to bring her back to Kado. Go, everyone follow, catch them!"

"Yes, Elder Ham!"

In the deepening moonlight, this fully armed group of Kado religious fanatics swiftly sprints in the direction where Renie departed.
