CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 43: THE WORST KIND IS AN EDUCATED SCUMBAG (6)
Nick Zeller immediately understood what Lawrence Winters meant, coughed once, and said in a deep voice, "You have such requests? Even going directly to the hospital to see a doctor can’t guarantee an instant cure, can it? — Has Gregory Quinn read too many fantasy novels and gone mad?"
Gregory Quinn happened to come over and heard Nick Zeller say this. His face turned bright red, and he stuttered, "Great Heavenly Master Zeller, that’s not what I meant, I..."
Nick Zeller raised a hand to stop him, gave him a careful look, shook his head, and clicked his tongue, saying, "Looking at you, something does seem off. But we just do feng shui; exorcism is just a side gig, and we can’t guarantee any effect."
"Besides, if there is such a miraculous person in this world who can heal instantly, can you afford it?"
After saying this, he pulled Lawrence Winters’ hand, ready to leave.
Realizing he had offended Nick Zeller, Gregory Quinn panicked and, without thinking, fell to his knees in the corridor at the door, crying out, "Great Heavenly Master! Great Heavenly Master Zeller! You must help me!"
"Help you? We can’t guarantee that after exorcising, your face and legs will get better immediately. — For immediate results, you should go pray to a deity, not come to us," Lawrence Winters said bluntly, while discreetly whispering Gregory Quinn’s "demands" to Nick Zeller.
Nick Zeller had been doing feng shui consultations for over ten years and had encountered all sorts of difficult clients.
He had seen many like Gregory Quinn in his early years, dealing with them was naturally no problem.
He deliberately slowed down, as if Gregory Quinn was holding him back, and slowly turned his head to look at him, saying indifferently, "...But we can’t make your face and legs recover immediately."
"Doesn’t have to be immediate! Doesn’t have to be immediate!" Gregory Quinn nodded like a chicken pecking at grain, "As long as you perform the exorcism, that’s enough!"
"Just perform the exorcism? You’re responsible for the consequences?" Nick Zeller turned around and looked down at him, "We have to sign a contract."
"I’ll sign, I’ll sign!" Gregory Quinn hurriedly reached for the contract from Lawrence Winters.
However, Lawrence Winters still had a reluctant look, dragging his words, "He’s so difficult, I don’t want to do business with him."
"Alright, alright, Lawrence, we are members of the Celestial Path Sect; it’s our duty to help those in need. Now that we’ve heard about this, can we really watch him be haunted and have bad luck for the rest of his life?"
Nick Zeller gave her a wink.
Lawrence Winters held back a laugh, walked a few steps forward, and said coldly, "What should we write for the contract amount?"
Gregory Quinn stood up, smiling awkwardly, "We’re all neighbors, wouldn’t you let it slide for Brooke’s sake?"
Lawrence Winters: "???"
Nick Zeller sneered, took the contract from Lawrence Winters, pulled a pen out of his pocket, quickly filled in the contract amount, and handed it under Gregory Quinn’s nose, "A flat rate, sign it or don’t."
Upon seeing the amount, Gregory Quinn’s eyes almost popped out, "...One...million?! Why don’t you just rob me! This is daylight robbery!"
"Then don’t sign it. We’re doing you a favor, and if you don’t appreciate it, that’s not our problem," Nick Zeller shrugged, handing the contract back to Lawrence Winters, "Let’s go back."
Lawrence Winters nodded; she was just going through the motions anyway.
If Gregory Quinn really was "desperate for a cure," they would make a good amount off him.
If he valued money over anything else, then forget it; they were just bored during the holidays anyway.
Sure enough, Gregory Quinn refused to sign, and he wasn’t stupid; realizing he was being toyed with, he got so angry that he slapped Brooke Osborne in the face, yelling, "...Were you in cahoots with them to mess with me?!"
Brooke Osborne was caught off guard, stumbled by the blow.
Kenneth Osborne was standing inside the door, initially staying put.
Seeing Gregory Quinn have the audacity to hit Brooke Osborne in front of so many people, he rushed out of the room and landed a slap on the uninjured side of Gregory Quinn’s face.
The slap landed right where Gregory Quinn’s face wasn’t stiff.
Kenneth Osborne’s strength was much greater than Gregory Quinn’s, and with this slap, Gregory Quinn staggered back a few steps, unable to keep his balance, finally falling to the ground with a thud.
"...I told you, if I see you lay a hand on my sister again, I’ll hit you every time," Kenneth Osborne rarely showed a dark expression, his elegant eyes narrowing, a dangerous glint flashing through them.
If it were before, Gregory Quinn would be scared and would have restrained himself, but now, after days of physical discomfort, he felt more humiliation than fear.
