Chapter 739: Chapter 589 Return Voyage_2
After listening, Spade expressed his profound gratitude, “Thank you so much, this information is very useful to us.”
“No problem, Lord Spade, I do have a bit of a personal curiosity that I’d like to discuss with you, if I may.”
After discussing the formalities, Beilo spoke to Spade in a relaxed tone.
“Please feel free to ask, Lady Beilo.”
“Who was controlling the fourth generation Biological Mecha of your country last night?”
“His name is Su Mo, an Advanced Mechanical Manipulator from our Federation.”
Spade replied without batting an eyelid.
“With such powerful skills, Mr. Su Mo must be one of the best in your country, right?”
Beilo asked with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Spade also replied with a smile, “Lady Beilo flatters him, Su Mo’s skills are indeed good. However, he’s not quite the best in our Federation, he’s just passable.”
Beilo’s heart fluctuated upon hearing Spade’s words, unable to discern whether he was being truthful or not.
But if it was true, that would be serious. Yet if it wasn’t, Beilo had no evidence to prove otherwise.
After taking a deep breath, Beilo smiled and said, “Your country really is brimming with talent.”
“Well, it’s mostly that the Mecha’s performance is just slightly better than the rest,” Spade replied, chuckling.
“Oh, I wonder if it’s appropriate to ask,” said Beilo hesitantly.
“Go ahead,” Spade encouraged.
“The Mechas from your country perform so well, I was wondering if you might be willing to sell us one?”
Beilo couldn’t help but covet the Gluttonous Mecha.
“That’s a difficult request, our top Mechas are not for sale. Only Council President Long Ming has the authority to decide on that, and I really can’t help you there,” Spade said.
“What about a lease? We can negotiate the price.”
Beilo still wasn’t giving up. She hadn’t slept at all after the events of the previous night, as images of the Gluttonous Mechas’ battle flooded her mind.
She was certain that what she needed most right now was a sharp, cutting-edge dagger.
So Beilo thought to seize the opportunity to strike a deal. Although she knew the chances were slim, she had to try.
“I’m afraid that won’t be possible either, our own need for Mechas is fairly tight. However, should we have any surplus in the future, I will certainly consider you first,” Spade replied.
Of course, Spade wouldn’t agree on a whim.
“That’s a pity,” Beilo said, showing genuine regret.
…
The following day, Su Mo and Rose followed behind Spade.
Spade and Beilo, along with other officers from the Yanas Country, exited the small palace amidst laughter and conversation, making their way toward the main street.
Su Mo glanced at the main street ahead, betraying a hint of surprise. How much time had passed?
The damaged areas of the main street had been completely restored, or at least covered up.
On both sides of the street stood fully armed soldiers, forming an honor guard. Behind the soldiers, a large crowd of civilians gathered, waving flowers and colorful signs excitedly at Su Mo and the others.
“Goodbye!”
“Farewell, dear comrades!”
“Thank you!”
…
Spade, too, waved back at the residents with a smile, and said to Beilo and the others.
“The people of your country are really enthusiastic!”
“In the Yanas Kingdom, the customs are simple, and people are clear about love and hatred. They are very grateful to companions who have been kind to them. They have come here on their own initiative to see you off; it’s their way of thanking you for lending a hand during a crisis.”
Beilo spoke with sincerity.
Following behind, Su Mo couldn’t help twitching the corner of his mouth as he overheard their conversation.
Although they had indeed helped, the spread of the news seemed too quick.
And there was one thing that Su Mo felt a bit embarrassed to point out.
Among those holding signs and bidding farewell, a few were yawning, looking less than heartfelt.
But as the saying goes, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth; the whole farewell ceremony showed a good amount of consideration.
After some time, with Beilo and the others’ accompaniment, Su Mo and his companions reached the edge of the departure area. From here, they could go directly to the base of Green Gore City, reaching the huge parking area below.
Just then, a familiar shout rang out.
“Big brother Su Mo, Sister Rose!”
Su Mo and Rose instinctively looked over.
Both were slightly taken aback, as they saw Mina, her grandfather, and a bunch of kids standing at the edge of the crowd, waving and shouting at them earnestly.
Beilo and Spade naturally saw this scene too. With a subtle indication from Beilo’s eyes, the soldiers in charge of maintaining the order naturally let Mina and the others through.
Mina and the others ran over cheerfully.
Seeing this, Spade turned to Su Mo and Rose, smiling, “The time of departure is at hand; go say your farewells to your friends.”
“Thank you, Lord Spade,” said Su Mo and Rose, thanking Spade before moving to greet the newcomers.
“Big brother Su Mo,” Little Mila and Xiao Ruo ran towards Su Mo with pure innocence.
“Good kids!” Su Mo genuinely smiled, crouched down, and extended his arms to hug them.”
“Big brother, do you really have to go?” the kids asked with their voices full of hope, looking up at Su Mo.
“Sorry, big brother has to go home. But I promise, if I ever get the chance, I’ll definitely come to visit you,” Su Mo replied earnestly.
“Okay,” Little Mila and Xiao Ruo nodded.
At this moment, Mina’s grandfather approached, coughing, and said to Su Mo, “Mr. Su Mo, I’m very grateful to you and Miss Rose for helping our family. We really don’t have much to repay you with, but we’ve prepared some local specialties, please do accept them.”
