Developing Games: To scare players all around the world!
Chapter 20: PureWhite’s Walkthrough
CHAPTER 20 - PUREWHITE'S WALKTHROUGH
[AN. This Chapter is like 2-3 Chapters long so expect less today]
PureWhite, a relatively unknown content creator on Youtube, had been producing videos for two to three years now but has only ever gathered a modest following of tens of thousands.
He had actually been considering giving up content creation altogether, until the game 'Silent Hill PT' suddenly exploded in popularity. That's when PureWhite's eyes lit up with new hope.
He felt like this was his moment.
Why? Because PureWhite wasn't like ordinary people, he thrived on intense, thrilling experiences. Fear excited him. The more terrifying and painful something was, the more alive he felt inside.
Back in school, he once carved a girl's name into the back of his own hand, with a knife, just to confess his feelings to her. The girl was so scared that she immediately reported him to the teacher.
Though he doesn't love admitting it, PureWhite is undeniably... a hardcore masochist.
So when the infamously terrifying 'Silent Hill PT', dubbed the scariest game in history, was released, he jumped at the chance to play it.
And it turned out, it was perfect for him.
Terror and adrenaline, that's exactly what he craved.
He browsed Youtube again, curious to see what others had done. Although Silent Hill was currently trending, the content was repetitive, challenges, Easter egg guides, streamers reacting dramatically. But no one had actually cleared the game.
Because frankly... no one dared.
That was all PureWhite needed to hear.
"If no one else does it, then I'll be the one to do it." he declared.
As fate would have it, Natalie and the mysterious producer of Silent Hill had gone live that very night, and the producer had issued a challenge.
"The first 50 players to complete all achievements on Silent Hill will get early access to our next game."
That promise etched itself into PureWhite's brain.
"Top 50... I will be one of them."
"If I can be one of the first to showcase their next title, I'll finally get the views, the fame, and the success I've been chasing!"
Fueled by that goal, PureWhite locked himself into playing 'Silent Hill PT' for the next several days, pushing through fear after fear. His mind constantly oscillated between paralyzing dread and euphoric excitement.
He was killed over and over again by the terrifying ghost woman in the hallway. He felt horror, thrill, even twisted satisfaction.
And then, finally, he did it.
PureWhite cleared Silent Hill.
Ecstatic, he stayed up all night editing his footage and uploaded the full playthrough to Youtube.

The title immediately caught the internet's attention.
"Wait, what?! Did I just read that?"
"No way... I thought this game couldn't be finished!"
"Is this real? Someone actually beat it?!"
"Clicking now. If this is fake, I swear I'll roast him alive!"
Even though PureWhite wasn't a big name, the claim alone was enough to drive a flood of traffic to his video.
It had been four days since the mysterious producer's now famous announcement. In that time, thousands had tried to beat the game, none had succeeded.
PureWhite was the first person in the world to claim a full clear.
The video begins with PureWhite's calm voice.
"Hey everyone, this is PureWhite. Today I'm going to walk you through a full, step-by-step breakdown of how I completed 'Silent Hill PT'.
"I know most players haven't cleared it yet, some don't even dare to play. I went through sleepless nights and countless deaths to finally beat it. Now, let me guide you from beginning to end."
"Also, don't worry, I've added some filters to all the high-intensity scenes, so you won't be scared watching this."
"This man's a legend, super considerate!"
"Thank you, thank you, I can't even watch scary games without peeing a little!"
"Bless this man and his filters!"
"The game starts in a pitch black room. After a short while, the door opens by itself..." PureWhite continued.
He walked through the corridor, explaining calmly as eerie things unfolded.
By the second cycle, things got serious.
"Here, the bathroom door opens just a crack. If you look closely, you'll see a little ghost face peek through meant to scare the player."
Instead of showing the actual face, PureWhite added a funny emoji over it, turning a horrifying jump scare into a harmless gag.
"LOL the funny face! I can actually breathe now watching this!"
"Why is this horror game... making me laugh?!"
Then came the third loop, considered the first real challenge of the game.
"This is where most people die. Around the corner, you'll run into your ghost wife. If you back away even slightly, she'll charge you like a mad dog and it's instant death."
As he turned the corner, the ghost wife appeared, again, her face replaced by a comically distorted emoji.
"Ohhhhhh THAT's what killed Saya on stream!"
"Dude just flinched and got wrecked, now I get it."
"The more scared you are, the more the game punishes you, this dev is sick! A total menace!"
---
"Now, as for how to pass this part..." Pure White's voice remained calm, steady, despite the suffocating tension in the game.
"Actually, Natalie already gave a good demonstration when she played, don't hesitate. Just walk forward."
He advanced slowly, flashlight in hand.
"If you do that, the ghostly wife will vanish on her own. Then the bathroom door will swing wide open, and the corridor will be plunged into complete darkness. At that point, we must enter the bathroom."
He paused, then added, "Wandering the hallway after it turns dark will almost certainly get you killed by her. Trust me, I've tested it."
With practiced steps, Pure White followed the path Natalie had taken. He entered the bathroom and bent down to retrieve the flashlight lying on the floor.
"Here, we learn an important truth. From the mirror, we see our character's reflection, and we realize something chilling. The protagonist we're playing is actually the murderer behind this incident... the husband."
But Pure White wasn't done.
"There's one more lethal encounter in this room, the fetus in the sink."
He turned the flashlight toward the sink. Inside, a deformed fetus lay curled, silent.
"This creature is extremely sensitive to light," he explained. "If you shine the flashlight on it for too long, it starts crying... and once it cries, the wife will come."
His tone dropped an octave.
"After all, that's her child. When it screams, the mother hears it. And once she arrives... you're already dead."
The chat exploded.
"Wait, so that's why Natalie died here?!"
"She left the flashlight on the baby too long!"
"Bro, how did Pure White figure this out?! This guy's built different!"
Indeed, everything that Natalie and Saya had experienced, Pure White had lived through himself, only he survived it. His courage was beyond normal comprehension.
"The key here is not to trigger the baby. So after picking up the flashlight, don't dawdle. Leave the bathroom immediately."
As he opened the door and stepped out, darkness consumed everything. Only the dim beam of his flashlight cut through the shadows.
The limited field of vision made every movement tense. Each step into the void was like walking a tightrope between life and death.
"Holy crap, the atmosphere is insane right now!"
"There's no way we're supposed to keep walking like this?!"
"My scalp is literally tingling watching this!"
Most viewers had never seen anything past this point. And now, what unfolded before them was a horror no one had prepared for.
The fourth cycle had begun.
It was unlike anything before, no ambient light, no clues. Just complete darkness, and that flickering beam of the flashlight.
"This cycle is even deadlier than the last," Pure White said calmly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Listen carefully. Aside from my footsteps... do you hear anything else?"
The chat paused. Everyone listened.
pat... pat...
"Wait. Is that...?"
"Footsteps?!"
"Damn, that's subtle! You really have to strain to hear it."
Pure White nodded, as if he could see the reactions through the screen.
"That's her. That's the sound of the wife walking through the corridor. You can't always see her, but she's there. Sometimes in front of you. Sometimes behind you."
"And if she gets too close... well, you know the rest."
"I died countless times here," he admitted. "Face to face ambushes, sneak attacks from behind, I lost track. But eventually, I discovered something."
He paused for effect.
"The sound of high heels is always hiding under your footsteps."
"What?! That's so unfair!"
"So this level is like... hide and seek in the dark?!"
"This dev is evil. Pure evil."
With the audience now on the edge of their seats, Pure White began carefully navigating the corridor.
Sometimes he moved forward. Sometimes back. Other times, he stood completely still, positioning himself based on the subtle sounds.
After what felt like an eternity, he made it to the front door again.
"If you're just watching, you won't fully feel the fear," he said, exhaling softly. "But when I was playing... those footsteps? The pressure was suffocating."
Still, his voice trembled with excitement.
"But it was so thrilling. The feeling of dancing on the edge of death, it's addicting. You guys should try it sometime."
"Try it?! Are you insane?"
"Bro is literally a certified masochist! No normal person would enjoy that!"
"I'm sweating just watching this!"
The audience was beginning to realize that Pure White was no ordinary gamer.
Then the front door opened again.
The fifth cycle had begun.
But this time, everything had changed.
The corridor was no longer bathed in shadows, it was now soaked in a dim, sinister red. The lights had turned from white to crimson. Every painting on the walls had morphed into grotesque eyes, each one wide and open, each one following the player's every move.
"WHAT?!"
"Yo this feels like some Lovecraft madness!"
"Why are all the eyes watching me?!"
Suddenly, the sound of crying echoed down the corridor.
It was the wife again.
Only now, the weeping was louder... more violent... and then twisted laughter.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT LAUGH?!"
"Crying AND laughing?? Bro what kind of monster is she?!"
"I'm never touching this game, ever."
Pure White's tone grew tense for the first time.
"This is the hardest cycle. Even harder than the last. And it's the final level."
"She's gone completely insane. Linger in the hallway even a moment too long, or run straight to the door, and she'll kill you."
"You have to hide."
He took off at a sprint.
"Where?!"
"There's nowhere to hide in that narrow hallway!"
Pure White ran, his breath sharp, his steps echoing in the hallway.
Finally, he dove into the bathroom.
"There's the bathtub," he whispered. "Earlier it was empty. Now it's filled... with blood."
The tub was brimming with dark, congealed liquid. Thick and oozing, it was even seeping across the floor.
"NOPE. Nope nope nope."
"Is that real blood?!"
"Dude is really about to jump in that?!"
"We're going to hide inside this tub of blood." Pure White said.
Without hesitation, he plunged into the crimson pool, submerging himself completely. Not a single strand of hair or edge of clothing peeked above the surface.
"OH MY GOD!"
"THAT'S DISGUSTING!"
"Dude, this guy has nerves of STEEL!"
The extra sensory suit he wore amplified everything: The sticky texture, the awful stench, the cold that wrapped around his body.
It was like being buried alive in blood.
And then, a shadow loomed.
A towering figure slowly appeared beside the bathtub.
It was her.
The ghost wife.
Twitching, sniffling, and swaying, she leaned over the tub, face just inches away, head turning left and right, searching.
The audience held their breath.
"We can see the ghost bride appearing near the bathtub, you need to stay absolutely silent!"
"But it's not over yet! The little ghost girl is about to show up again... and in a way you could never imagine! Heads up, the scariest part is coming!!"
As PureWhite's talked, the viewers watched in growing dread. From a dark corner of the bathtub, something round and black began to float. Long strands of wet, black hair trailed behind it.
The eerie object drifted slowly across the surface of the water, inching closer to PureWhite's in-game perspective, before suddenly spinning around.
A pale, decaying face with a twisted smile came into view.
It was the severed head of a little ghost girl.
It bobbed gently like a toy, just inches from the screen.
Although the stream had a emoji filter over the ghost, the effect somehow made it even more disturbing.
"What the hell is that?!"
"Even with the censor, I'm scared shitless!"
"Wait, was that really a little girl's head?!"
"I can imagine how horrifying this must be without the filter!"
The little girl's face floated on the water while the player's head was submerged just below. Their faces nearly touched, separated by mere centimeters.
"This has to be the most terrifying moment in the entire game!"
PureWhite, known for loving thrillers, was visibly shaken and his voice trembled.
"Although the little girl ghost is horrifying, she won't kill you," he explained. "She's just here to scare you. The real danger is the woman ghost. She's the one you need to watch out for."
"That's why no matter how terrified you are, do not make a sound."
"If you do, the bride, who's right beside you, will hear it, drag you out of the bathtub, and kill you on the spot."
"Trust me, you do not want to experience that."
His voice shook with genuine fear. Even he had a hard time keeping his cool at this part of the game. The horrifying visuals only amplified the intensity for the viewers.
"Jesus Christ, this part is terrifying!"
"Even with the filter, my whole body's trembling!"
"The dev team must be twisted to come up with this!"
"Every detail is meticulously foreshadowed, and one mistake means death!"
"Props to PureWhite for surviving this part. I would've screamed my lungs out."
In the game, PureWhite stayed perfectly quiet. He covered his mouth, and despite the face to face encounter with the ghost girl, he didn't utter a sound.
After a few moments, the little girl's expression faded into emptiness, and her head slowly disappeared into the water.
Not long after, the ghost bride, wandering nearby, also gave up and walked away, unable to detect PureWhite's presence.
"Alright, now they're both gone. We can come out now," PureWhite whispered.
He climbed out of the bathtub and stepped into the corridor once more.
His character was soaked, covered in blood, and noticeably heavier and colder than before.
"With both ghosts gone, we can continue," he said, "This is the sixth and final cycle."
He opened the door and entered the last loop.
This time, the hallway was back to normal, brightly lit, just like at the beginning of the game.
"The scariest part is over," PureWhite said. "There's no more jumpscares ahead. We're nearing the end of Silent Hill's story."
He began walking down the corridor.
Once again, the male voice from the radio echoed, but this time, it wasn't about murders. Instead, it revealed a dark monologue.
"You saw red, and turned to drinking to numb your suspicions. She had to work part time as a cashier just to make ends meet. The only reason she got the job was because the store manager liked her. You knew that, but you still let her go."
"As her belly grew, so did the doubts in your heart. You looked at your daughter and thought... she didn't look like you. Eventually, after another night of drinking, you lost control... and you did it."
"Holy crap! That explains everything!"
"So the guy snapped because he thought he was being cheated on?!"
"Maybe it was all just paranoia..."
"So this is a story of guilt and suspicion driving someone insane!"
"My personal take? The wife didn't cheat. It was all in the protagonist's head, paranoia and alcohol poisoning his mind. And one day, he gave in to his delusions and murdered them." PureWhite commented.
He rounded a corner in the hallway.
But instead of a ghost, what awaited him was a thick hemp rope, hanging from the ceiling. It swung gently like a cradle. Below it, a short wooden stool.
Suddenly, the radio voice returned.
"So ask yourself... who killed your wife and child? Do you still deserve to live?"
"Wait... is the radio telling him to hang himself?!"
"Yup. That's exactly what it's suggesting."
"Honestly... he deserves it. He killed them because of his own baseless suspicions."
"Even if the wife cheated... the child was innocent!"
"No redemption. He's beyond saving."
The room filled with condemnation for the male protagonist.
"And now," PureWhite said, "let's watch the game's final cutscene."
The camera shifted from first person to third person.
The player's character walked slowly toward the noose. The camera panned downward, showing only his legs. He stepped onto the stool.
Then, with a sudden motion, he kicked it away.
"Ugh... Ugh..."
The protagonist's choking sounds rang out. His legs jerked wildly, then slowed... and finally stilled.
The screen went black.

[Game Over. Thanks for playing!]
The stream ended, but the audience sat frozen in their seats, the game burned into their memories.
Unsurprisingly, PureWhite's guide video blew up.
Within minutes, it hit number 1 trending on youtubes gaming section.
Soon after, hashtags like #SilentHillWalkthroughVideo began trending on every major platform, from Tiktok to Twitter and YouTube.
Players around the world were shocked. Someone had not only cleared Silent Hill, but shared the twisted truth hidden behind its horror.
The view count skyrocketed, millions of views within hours.
In the comment sections, the reactions were overwhelming.
"This game is messed up. The first few loops were scary enough, but the later ones are on a whole other level."
"Playing hide and seek with the ghost woman by listening for footsteps? Staying quiet while a ghost girl stares in your face? That's some next level horror design."
"The New World team is insane. The psychological terror is more intense than any horror movie I've ever seen."
"And it's free! How is a game this complete and terrifying not even monetized?"
"The protagonist is the real monster. Unemployed, drunk, paranoid, and he kills his own family? He got what he deserved."
"The ending gave me chills. The storytelling was on another level. No regrets, I finally experienced Silent Hill."
