CHAPTER 31: DUNGEON BATTLE (8) : EIRA’S REQUIEM AWAKENING

"Matt!"

Everyone heard the sad cry of Brad, as he mourned Matt. Everyone’s body shook in fear. What concerned most of them, except for Matt’s roommate and Eira, was how they would survive the wrath of the devil.

Matt’s death didn’t concern them because life is about survival. This was the cruel state of humanity.

Eira was silent; her eyes looked dead as she looked at where Matt had fallen.

Brad saw this; within his grief, he smirked excitedly. But this happened for a moment; nobody saw this.

The Devil watched all of this like a bystander; it seemed to enjoy the fear, the hatred, and the shock experienced by these thirteen-year-old children.

Eira’s heart was dead; she didn’t feel alive; she didn’t know when she stood up, staggering towards the edge of the bridge.

If before she was an angel, now she was a fallen angel.

"Matt, why did you leave me? Didn’t you make a promise that after the combat assessment, you would stand by my side as my lover?" she muttered in a sad voice, tears starting to drop from her eyes.

Brad heard all of this; his fists creaked together, and his mind was filled with anger and jealousy.

At this moment, the world was no longer meaningful to Eira; she intended to jump off the bridge, but how could Brad allow that?

His eyes were on her, and at the moment she tried to jump, he held her back, stopping her. He never calculated the fact that Eira’s love could be so strong that she wanted to die together with Matt.

"Let me go," Eira roared out in anger, trying to free herself from him, but Matt didn’t let go.

"I’m sure Matt wouldn’t want you to die. Are you going to allow his murderer to go scot-free?" Brad said, trying to invoke the hatred in Eira.

The Devil watched all of this, still smiling. All the scenes the children were playing were making it amusing It knew that Matt didn’t fall off the bridge and the culprit was Brad, who was behaving like an angel.

This was what was making the scene amused by it.

Eira paused when she heard those words; tears gushed out from her eyes.

"I am waiting for you, Matt. I don’t believe you will die," she muttered softly as she decided.

Brad heard this, but he was relaxed when he saw that she had no plans of committing suicide. As for words, he sneered internally; he doesn’t believe that Matt would come back alive.

Eira looked at the Devil, who watched all of these scenes; her silver eyes were burning with hatred.

Her Ice Talent and Moon Talent, both SS Rank, were unconsciously activated. If one looked at her internally, her blood was becoming icy, her skin radiating coldness.

But she herself doesn’t know of this, her hatred-filled eyes on the devil.

The devil was still watching this scene before its smile froze; it could see that something wrong was going on.

It immediately tried to attack Eira to finish her before it was too late.Snowflakes began to fall from nowhere; everyone was puzzled about what was going on here, as there weren’t any outside.

They looked at Eira, whose surroundings had frozen into ice; even Brad had separated himself from her when he noticed her change.

"You are going to die," she said in anger, hatred, and pain, still not aware of the chaos she is causing.

The devil’s hand that was stretched immediately began to freeze, which shook the devil; it immediately cut off its hand so as not to get destroyed by the ice.

"This weak body," it grunted, angry with the state of the body. The hand grew back, but the devil was a bit helpless.

It could also watch as Eira undergoes whatever transformation that was happening.

If one could peep into Eira’s body’s inner state, they would see that her thirteen veins were emitting icy energy.

Her eyes became colder than before; everywhere within ten miles of her was frozen. The students had run to the entrance of the room, which was the safest place for them while they watched what was happening.

CHIRP!

The sound of a bird chirping was heard by everyone, and everyone’s body began to shake uncontrollably with fear.

They felt as if terror was coming. The aura was the devil was like an ant before it.

The devil watched this scene, its eyes widened in horror; it seemed to realize what was happening.

"Impossible, how can you awaken such a thing?" it roared in anger.

Above Eira, everyone felt a fluctuation as if something was descending; they could hear songs and rhythm.

An outline appeared; it became clearer, but the more the ice spread, the colder everywhere was getting.

At this moment, Eira was a cold porcelain.

The outline began to get clearer the more the eyes of the Devil began to widen When it was completed, an ice storm was released, and the Devil was engulfed in it. Luckily it didn’t reach where the students were.

CHIRP!

The ice storm settled; the first thing that they saw was the Devil’s frozen body. They turned their sights on Eira; they felt fear.

They saw an ancient ice bow that shimmered with a cold, bluish glow. Its frame looked as if it was carved from pure crystal ice, smooth yet strong, and it was surrounded by a faint mist.

The bowstring glowed faintly white, humming softly whenever drawn. When an arrow was notched, frost spread along the weapon, and the air turned icy cold. Each shot released a streak of freezing light, leaving trails of snowflakes behind.

It was beautiful, yet silent, and deadly.

Above it was an icy blue bird, its wings wide and shining like frozen glass. Its feathers were pale blue and white, each one glowing softly in the cold light. When it moved, frost followed, covering the ground beneath it in a thin layer of ice.

Its eyes glowed like icy crystals, calm but sharp, and its breath came out as mist that sparkled in the air. The surrounding wind turned cold and still, and the air carried a faint sound like the ringing of ice.

When it spread its wings, snowflakes scattered in every direction, and the world around it seemed to pause—quiet, cold, and beautiful.

An ice phoenix. This was the bird above Eira.

The students looked at Eira; they shivered at the scene.

They were familiar with this moment; Eira had awakened a Requiem, just as an ice storm had frozen the devil.

When they thought of this, they were excited; their body jumped with joy. It appears that they aren’t going to die.

Brad watched this scene with excitement, his heart wandering as he wondered when such beauty would be his wife; the world would envy him.

Suddenly, the frozen devil began to melt, and black fire began to burn all over the ice, melting it free.

It took steps back, looking at Eira in horror and fear,

"How can you awaken such power?" it roared in ferocity.

Eira didn’t do anything. The ice phoenix just opened its beak, exhaling out an icy breath; the devil froze into ice, and it exploded into ice powder.

Her cold and merciless eyes fluctuated as she muttered,

"Matt!"
