Devil Man
Chapter 33: Dungeon in Dungeon (2): True Meaning of Hell
CHAPTER 33: DUNGEON IN DUNGEON (2): TRUE MEANING OF HELL
"Humans"
Matt heard this word and was shocked; he turned back and saw something shocking.
The space he was in was far bigger than the Blade Devil boss room where he was betrayed. Thinking of the betrayal, his eyes flared with hatred.
But for the meantime, he was surprised by what he saw; he saw a human was chained.
A young man with black hair, no top, but worn-down trousers.
His hands and legs were chained to the side, like they wanted to split him into you.
"I never thought I would meet a human." Matt saw that the figure smiled; his smile was bringing comfort to Matt.
"How’s the war? Did we win against humanity?" the man asked.
Matt felt surprised by this question. Was the man in front of him one of the ancestors of humanity?
"Senior, the war has ended; it’s been 2000 years," Matt said respectfully,
But he thought of something: the signboard stated that there were only ancient devils here.
Looking at the person before him, he doesn’t look like a devil, no devilish aura.
"Thank goodness, we won." He saw a smile on the man’s face, who seemed happy by the fact.
"hahahaha, young boy, if you had that thought in your mind that the person before you was a human, you would have died a thousand times." A human voice rang out in Matt’s mind,
"Who are you?" Matt cried out in his mind, looking around, his eyes settled on the human before him.
"Humph, little one, you have forgotten about me," a familiar voice resounded in his mind, dark, devilish, and eerie.
There was no way he could forget, even though the matter had been in his mind. The devil in him, this was its voice.
"You," Matt was shocked because there was a massive difference in the voice. The first voice was humanly calm and comforting, different from the devilish voice.
"You can see, little one. You are still naive in this world, a sheep before packs of wolves. You would be devoured within a second." Its amused words made Matt feel chills.
"Humph, are you not a devil?" Matt retorted.
"It’s up to you; if not, I would be affected, and I am in you. Do you think I would help a human like you?" The devil snorted.
His word shook Matt, making him realize something.
He looked at the young man; now carefully looking at the young man, he realized something.
How can he be so young, even after 2000 years?
His hair was neatly arranged and trimmed. For someone who had been locked up for thousands of years, he should be bushy, according to him.
Also, why would a human be chained here?
"Young boy, could you come closer and tell me what happened over the thousands of years?" the young man said, a kind smile on his face.
But this made Matt shiver. He forced a smile. "I think it’s better to stay here and tell you, senior. There’s no problem in it."
The young man saw this, confused. "Young boy, are you scared? There’s no way I am going to eat you," he joked.
Both of them began to laugh out loud, Matt also laughing. This continued for about a few minutes before both of them stopped laughing.
"It seems you are a smart young boy. But how do you find out?" the young man asked, his kind face disappearing, replaced with a cold and ruthless face.
Matt shook when he saw this. It was true that the person before him wasn’t a human.
He felt the horror of reality; he began to think of what the young man wanted to do with him.
"You know, I wanted you to remove these chains, but you were smart enough, " the young man grinned.
When Matt heard this, his hair rose, and chills ran down his spine. He wondered if he had released the young man, what calamity would have happened.
"But you can’t run," the young man roared.
Devilish energy gushed out from the young man’s body next, and immense pressure descended on Matt. He never felt such pure, devilish energy.
And the devilish energy was familiar to him. The devilish energy surrounded Matt, holding him down, squeezing him like a snake.
"Do you remember me?" the young man said. Matt turned to him.
The young man began to change to a familiar figure; his eyes widened in horror.
The familiar gray and pale skin with black markings, the small metallic thorns that jutted out along the shoulder and spine.
The two curved horns that rose backwards from its temples, its twelve crimson slits, the sword-like nails, and the shadow that writhed the mass of swords.
Matt’s body felt goosebumps as a terrifying thought rose through his mind.
Were they all fighting an ancient devil?
He felt fear, not of the devil before him but for the safety of Eira. Was she safe and alive?
"After spending thousands of years to separate part of my soul, nourishing it with my soul, making it try to escape, and fusing it with my brethren...."
Matt heard the words of the devil before him; he froze. He was right; what they fought at the Silver Bridge was the ancient devil before him. Thinking of the meticulous plan that the ancient devil had planned, he felt chills.
".... Who would have thought small children like you would destroy my plan?" it roared in anger.
The devilish energy squeezed Matt more, but Matt wasn’t concerned with that as he was focused on the words of the Devil.
"How can that girl awaken such ice power?" it roared again.
But Matt’s heart leapt with joy; Eira was okay. Only she would have an ice power that would suppress the devil.
He fell into thought about how she was able to kill the devil.
In thought, he felt a cold and malicious voice, snapping out of his thoughts to meet the devil’s gaze.
"I would make sure you regret ever living in this world," it grinned. Matt had a bad feeling.
Just a snap of a finger, the devil just snapped its finger, and Matt entered hell.
He looked at his right arm that had exploded; bones and flesh had been mushed. His expression turned aghast, his face contorted as he screamed in pain.
Aaaargh!
