CHAPTER 41: DISCIPLE CULTIVATION SYSTEM CH41 SCARLET HUNTER PT2.
When on kicks something, usually the clear intent is to fling it away but what if one kicked something that couldn’t be moved... let’s say someone so durable they made a wall feel like paper.
"They didn’t so much as flinch."
Art from the moment he arrived expected his opponent to have an active reinforcement so he kick was strong but still didn’t have everything put into it and because of such actions, he was only left with a sore pain in his feet as he pulled back his leg and watched the assassin in wonder.
His feets hurted but more importantly, the assassin was motionless as if his kick didn’t even tickle them.
It was quite disappointing to say the least since he hoped he had gotten stronger but the saying there were mountains taller than mountains seem applicable here as he twisted his hold on the dagger against their neck and moved foward with a stab.
Crack—!!!
One’s again they didn’t move even as the metallic blade of his dagger pierced into their armor, completely shattering his weapon into pieces.
A few fragments ended up stabbing his palm as he looked onwards in surprise only for a punch to be launched at him.
"That’s weird."
Thinking so, he bent backwards, his face looking up to the straight punch that shot above him and sent a wind pressure that destroyed the walls of the alleyway behind him.
Ignoring the destruction since he couldn’t detect living beings behind him, he pushed his head back up, holding the remains of his dagger in a reverse grip stance. His golden aura wrapping around the blade both inside and out to reinforce it’s durability and increase it’s depleted sharpness.
The assassin carrying Valarie with one arm on their shoulders, pulled back their punch, a flicker of crimson pulsed around their suit as they lowered their stance a bit.
"Their handicapped because of Valarie, the added weight will decrease their agility but so too will it decrease areas to strike. The chest will be too bold and might harm her legs. Since she being mounted on the left side, I’ll need to focus my attention on the right."
Begining with a casual charge, his blade traced a crescent slash down on the assassin’s right shoulder.
Leaping back to avoid, another attacked followed, this one a stabbed but they dodged again, performing a spin in the moments Art was retracting his dagger before following up with a vicious roundhouse kick at him.
Art ducked narrowly avoiding it but the concrete wall beside him wasn’t so lucky as the kick having missed him crashed into it, effortlessly breaking through it and scattering dusts of cement around.
Alerted, Art retreated, his breath ragged as he retook his stance.
"The suit seems to enhance combat ability, I’m guessing the crimson veins are artificial mana veins use to mimic how mages circulate mana. It’s impressive but that also means, the assassin might be helpless without it."
Keeping his breath calm to avoid panicking he dashed foward, golden afterimages trailing behind him as he began with a fluid cut....
"Hmph!."
Expressing indifference, the assassin streched out their hands to his dagger but....
"I know." He smirks, flicking the dagger just in time into his left hand as he followed up with an upwards stab straight into it’s armpit joint where the veins were most concentrated.
As he expected their was a gap which directly allowed the crismon veins into the suit.
This Type of armor was magic tech, a combination of magic and science and a next Gen weapon that will allow exploration of the Abyssal realm to move to the next stage.
The user was surgical implanted with an artifact mana core in their chest and the veins around the suit absorbed energy through said core to power the suit.
This kind of technology could allow a normal; those born without mana or aura to harness those energies at the expense of shorting their lifespan.
They were cool and all but just like a venom reliant supervillain of a certain bat hero, once their weakness, being the vein channels were destroyed, the suit will cease all function in the part destroyed.
"What are you doing."
Jerking his dagger into the gap, he heard the assassin panic but their left hand was preoccupied holding Valarie meaning their will use their legs hence already prepared for that, he knew victory would be his.
All he simply needed to do was...
"Mana burst."
His dagger flashed with a golden glow which soon expanded into the suit, trigger a reaction that caused all the areas around the right hand to cease function as the red veins pulsed till it finally died out leading the arm to go limp and stiff.
"How?"
"What would you like to know."
Using their moment of shock, he pulled his dagger out the gaps as he followed through with a kick into the lump hand.
It was now the most fragile but it was till connected to the armor and user. Depending on the level of force use, it could affect more then the arm but just like Valerie he didn’t account for all possibilities.
Let’s say for example the reason the assassin was wearing an armor in the first place.
Art learnt that lesson the hard way, as the surface of the right arm cracked.
His kick had landed then and had thrown the hand up in the air so he had thought his kick had been the one to crack it but he was greatly mistaken as the cracks soon spread throughout the armor and it shattered.
"Boring."
The first and last thing Art saw was crimson hair, as his vision was wrapped, the back of his head crushing against the ground and knocking him out cold.
With him now passed out on the ground, the assassin, putting their cloak back on, crouched to lift him up.
But a dagger whistled through the air, nailing their outstreched hand on the ground.
A/N: I was finally able to sign my contract after a few mistakes. Like I said before I will be correcting the grammatical mistakes in the early Chapters.
It will take a while since I’m also working on a new book after three failed ones. Thank you all again for reading my book and I will greatly appreciated your review and support.
