CHAPTER 82: DISCIPLE CULTIVATION SYSTEM CH82 RED NIGHT FINAL PART.

A loud crash echoed in the event hall as a body dropped from the upper floor and splattered on the ground.

There was a deep silence as the students’ gazes were drawn to the corpse laid awkwardly on the ground.

She had a hole in her chest, her limbs twisted from the fall, and her eyes hollow and lifeless.

"AHHHH!!!!!"

It began with a scream. One so horrified, it couldn’t help but send shivers down one’s spine. Screams followed with panic as the students began scrambling around, fear gripping at their hearts.

In the state of chaos, Valaria and Damien stood frozen, their eyes unable to leave the corpse.

"Ches!" Damien, his glasses loose, muttered, his eyes growing wet.

Valaria, her heart sinking into despair, brought her hands to her lips, muffled sobs following after.

"She’s...."

She stood up, her feet trembling. Her eyes streaming with tears and her voice shaky.

"....dead."

Walking closer to the corpse, she fell on her knees right where she laid, her head unconsciously looking up.

"You killed her...."

She whispered, the sight of the red-haired man clutching a bloody spear on the top floor drawing her gaze.

Her pupils shrieked and her mind and body screamed at her...urging her to run up to him and make him pay but...

What could she do? Even Cheshire, blessed with intent, had been killed—what more her?

As she resigned herself to this hopeless fate, the ceiling and everything above was incinerated by golden lightning. A woman with flowing auburn hair and deep green eyes descended from the skies, her cold gaze alternating between Cheshire’s corpse and the man she now gripped by the neck.

As her hold on him tighten, the man frantically shook his legs and stabbed at her to break free.

[Ragnarok]

A low whisper signaled the arrival of a divine crimson light that fell from the sky and engulfed her and the demon in her grasp. For a moment Valaria’s sights were blinded by the imposing light, and yet as no harm befell her, she thought it was over but...

Crack–!!!

A revolting crack shattered her delusion as she opened her eyes and saw a red sword impaling the Headmistress. Holding the sword and hovering behind the Headmistress was a woman of unprecedented beauty. Her hair, a colorful red, billowed against the wind and her eyes, blood red, offered not even an ounce of warmth...just cold determination. The determination to kill the Headmistress.

"Shit!"

Cassandra, impaled within her abdomen, began to feel light, her fingers clutching the neck of the intruder loosening as she glanced behind her.

"Wrath!" she said, not much of a surprise evident in her voice.

Wrath...or rather Scarlet’s appearance was predicted, but those behind her, floating eerily and covered in dark cloaks, gave her chills.

An army reaching the hundreds floated into her academy, using a crack from above the school’s barrier. At their rate...her students wouldn’t make it.

"Slaughter the students...leave the white-haired. She’s my kill."

Drawing her sword from within Cassandra’s back, Scarlet kicked her to the ground, the resulting impact leaving a crater on the ground.

"Kahn!"

Grabbing the man who had been strangled by Cassandra, Scarlet landed on the ground and tossed him aside.

"You acted earlier than requested!" she muttered, her gaze never leaving Valaria.

"One of the kids noticed me."

Standing up to pat the dirt on the waiter’s attire he wore, he explained.

"It matters not...the runes are a problem. Find a way to get rid of them before any agent of the Commission arrive."

Taking a red spear from her storage ring, she passed it onto the young man named Kahn and approached Valaria.

"Where is the blonde knight?"

With a flick of her hand, she tidied her sword of Cassandra’s blood and used it to lift Valaria’s jaw to face her.

"....He killed her..."

Valaria ignored her, her thoughts still lingering on Cheshire’s death. Scarlet, shifting her gaze to the corpse of Cheshire, showed no reaction and lifted her blade over Valaria’s head.

"You’re useless then."

With a cold declaration, she brought her blade down to cut her down but.....

"Flash step."

Cassandra, having slightly recovered, lunged at Scarlet, leaving trails of lightning in her wake. Scarlet spun and blocked her assault with her blade, resulting in a powerful shockwave that flung Valaria and everything around them back.

"You just won’t die, will you."

"I’m afraid such concept is foreign. Why not lead the way?"

Pivoting her kick forward, she attacked Scarlet’s blade and spun. Her body, as flexible as a ballerina’s, followed in a twirl that shifted into an axe kick which she hammered into Scarlet’s shoulder. The red-haired warrior fended her off with her blade and pushed her back.

"You want to learn death from an immortal?"

Taking a more focused stance, Scarlet dashed at her, her sword a mere blur that whipped at Cassandra.

"News flash, you’re not the only immortal around here."

Hopping lightly, Cassandra, her legs charged with volts of lightning, shifted into a rough footwork that dodged the approaching blur before she launched a lightning-infused punch. Scarlet effortlessly caught her blow with her empty hand, only for it to be pulverized into a blood mist.

Taking advantage of the lost limb, Cassandra slipped pass her and grabbed her waist from behind before arching her back and drilling Scarlet’s body head first into the tiled floor.

"Huff..."

With a soft pant, her eye sparked with lightning as she gathered the surrounding mana above them and chanted.

[Ragnar....]

Stab–!

A dagger was jammed into her throat, interrupting her vocal session.

"Ughhhh..."

Bleeding rapidly from where the dagger was plunged, her arms wrapped around Scarlet’s firm waist lossned and she collapsed helplessly on the ground. Scarlet, rolling off her, plucked out the dagger and flicked it into her heart.

There existed immortality, but it varied in nature.

There was true immortality: one where the concept of death was denied to the individual in possession of such flaw.

Then there was ageless: in essence this was eternal youth. They could still die, but only by getting killed. Demons and dragons were the only creatures with this kind of immortality.

For those of this kind, there existed a form of regeneration to keep their body in perfect condition. Of course, this regeneration and their immortality could be negated by attacking fatal weak points. There was the heart and the brain.

She didn’t know what form of immortality Cassandra had, but right after she targeted her heart, she went for her head next. After watching her body grow still, she kicked her aside and rubbed the scar underneath her right eye.

"And just like that a legend is dead."

Scarlet whispered and looked around. As she expected there was no trace of the white-haired girl.

"Why do you have to make this so troublesome."

Regenerating her lost limb, she walked out of the demolished event hall and began her night of carnage.
