CHAPTER 220: SPA CHERRY (3)

Evalyn’s face went stiff, and Jack thought she might be trying to hide a look of disgust.

"They all know about each other, and all but two are also friends with each other," he said. "The last two are still uncertain if they are okay with sharing."

Her tense look shifted to one of disbelief.

"You’re telling me you have seven girlfriends, and five of them know each other and are friends with each other?"

"Yep. And the remaining two each know about the other six, and one of them has met two of my other girlfriends."

"And they don’t fight? Or, you know, get jealous?"

"No fighting, and only one of them feels any jealousy, but it’s mostly born of anxiety, and she’s handling it well."

"That’s hard to believe."

"Normally, I’d agree with you. But two of my girlfriends have had a crush on me for several years and are, if you can believe this, harem fans. They actually want me to find more girlfriends! One is Aquitanian and happy to share, and one is a submissive and is happy as long as I spank her regularly."

Evalyn’s eyes bugged out at his mention of spanking.

"Seriously? Spanking?"

"Yeah, she’s a masochist and is down for just about anything. But don’t look down on her because of her kinks. She is an extremely bright person, and I expect she’ll be making significant contributions to science in the future."

"Huh. I’ve met a few playboys in Briarwood-"

"A few?!" he couldn’t help but scoff at the idea that she’d only met a few playboys.

"Okay, I’ve met a lot of playboys. But only a few of them were as upfront about it as you are about your harem. But in every case, they mostly talked about the strategies they used to keep their girlfriends in the dark about each other."

Then she scowled and said, "Though there was one that claimed he enjoyed watching his girlfriends fight each other over him. He was a slimy scumbag."

She gave him a searching look, like she was trying to peel back his layers.

"Can I meet your girlfriends? At lest the five that know each other."

"Hmm. Sam at least would be thrilled, though I should warn you, she will try to recruit you into my harem. Maybe Katie as well. The others would probably be okay with it as well."

He looked her in the eye. "I have one condition, assuming they agree. I want you to promise me that you will keep the meeting private. No posting about it online, or blabbing about it to your Briarwood friends."

"I understand. I promise to keep our meeting private."

He pulled out his phone and started sending text messages. He knew Katie and Samantha would agree. And figured Miranda and Naoko would as well. Madison probably would as well, but he was less certain about her, and this was one situation where he would not force her into it.

Seeing that he was busy on his phone, Evalyn sat back and stared at the fire. And while it wasn’t an actual wood fire, but instead one of those natural gas and ceramic log fires, it still looked real.

By the time he was done eating his pastries, all the girls had replied in the positive, Samantha enthusiastically with a chaotic mix of emojis, including way too many eggplant emojis.

He turned to her and said, "Assuming Madison agrees, is tomorrow night okay with you? We can meet in my suite here in the hotel if you want. Or your suite if you’re more comfortable with that."

"Yes, actually, tomorrow night is fine. And I’m okay with meeting in your suite. But why are you staying here if you are attending NSU and can afford to buy rental properties?"

"My house got trashed by a rogue FIS agent, so we’re staying here until my new house is ready."

"Rogue FIS agent? Now that sounds like an interesting story."

Then she put her elbows on the arm of her chair, rested her chin on her fists and said, "Share?"

He chuckled.

"Sure. So there we were, sitting on my couch, Madison straddling me, her shirt halfway over her head, when bam, the front door crashed open..."

He was almost done telling the story when Madison came into the lounge.

He stuck his hand up and waved at her, and she walked over, but froze when she saw who was sitting in the chair next to Jack.

Through their connection, he could tell that she was shocked at the sight of Evelyn Tanner sitting next to him.

At first she felt some excitement at the prospect of meeting a Briarwood celebrity, but then her possessiveness kicked in.

In the worst impression of a seductive walk he had ever seen, she tried to sashay over to him and sit in his lap.

Her this-man-is-mine act was so obvious it was almost cute.

Evalyn, seeing Madison’s behavior, gave Madison the most exaggerated I’m-just-an-innocent-little-girl look Jack had ever seen.

He hugged Madison and whispered in her ear, "Relax. I’m not going to replace you with Evalyn Tanner."

She huffed, but relaxed a bit.

"Mrs. Tanner has asked if she might be granted an audience with my harem. Katie, Samantha, Miranda, and Naoko have all agreed. So, the decision is up to you. Yea or Nay?"

While her emotions churned, he leaned in and nibbled her earlobe.

After a few moments, her emotions settled, and she said, "Okay."

Evalyn grinned and mimed clapping her hands.

"Jack was just telling me about your harrowing experience with those jackbooted thugs in the FIS. Did you just get out of prison? Is that why you’re here?"

Madison nodded. "Yes. Miranda arranged it. She’s nice like that."

"Would you be willing to tell me about your experience in prison? I’m thinking about reading for a part where the character spends some time in prison, under circumstances similar to your own. I’d love to pick your brain and learn more about what it’s really like."

"Um, not today. But maybe tomorrow?"

"Sure."

A woman in the spa uniform stopped next to Evalyn and said, "Mrs. Smith? We’re ready for you now."

Evalyn winked at Jack, then turned to follow the spa attendant, but stopped.

"Oh!" she said, then pulled out her phone. "Here, let’s exchange contact info."

As they did, the spa employee looked at Jack over Evalyn’s shoulder and gave him a "you lucky dog" look.

As soon as Evalyn left, another spa attendant came up and said, "Mr. Waldron, Mrs. Kavanagh, we’re ready for you."

They got up and followed the attendant out of the lounge.
