CHAPTER 29: CHAPTER 29 : KHAN’S SUPREMACY

Chapter 29 : Khan’s Supremacy

The fated battle was soon going to start.

Axton stood on one side.

Silva and his lackeys stood on the opposite side.

Both parties stared each other down and much to the surprise of Grand Nexus, Axton showed no atom of fear despite being severely outnumbered.

It was going to be the ones with the potential to become the number guild in New Eden against the player with the potential to become the strongest player in New Eden.

Ideally, Axton should have run away but he was too overpowered at this moment to be afraid of these people.

His conditions were just unnaturally favourable to the situation at hand.

No one had ever witnessed Axton make any moves as Khan. They only know what the announcement panels broadcasted.

Today, there was a high probability that such would happen.

"Get him!" Silva commanded his comrades.

The ground shook under the charge of their feet, almost threatening to cave in as they rushed towards Axton who stood alone.

A spectator would probably have closed his eyes by now to pray for Axton’s safety.

Silva wanted to send a note of warning to others using Axton.

If he could defeat "Khan" then his reputation and that of Grand Nexus would skyrocket immensely.

This was an opportunity he did not want to miss in any way.

He smiled as he watched the members of his guild charge towards their opponent.

By normal standards, they were not weak.

It was a mixed rank of players from levels 1 to 4 and many of them were on the levels 3 to 4 in ranks, with a few lower level players among them.

This was, perhaps, one of the reasons that Silva was confident in their victory.

Just as they approached very closely to him, Axton smirked.

"Fools," he muttered under his breath, ready to unleash something that they had never seen before.

Something that would have every single person present holding their breath.

The atmosphere suddenly shifted.

The ground shook violently, causing fear to strike the hearts of the Grand Nexus players.

The vibration was intense and swayed his opponents from side to side against their wills.

Many fell flat on their faces as they were unable to maintain their balance.

The few that did not, found themselves crouched and struggled to keep their bodies steady.

"What the hell is happening?!"

"What is this earthquake?"

"Is it one of his techniques?"

"A skill?"

While they were still shaken by a mere earthquake roused by Axton’s summon, their souls sharply left their bodies as soon the source of the vibrations manifested itself.

*Roar*

A great shadow enveloped every single one and they couldn’t help but look to the sky and swallow in immense fear.

Even Silva reflexively took a step back as sweat filled his face.

"W-What... the... h-hell?" he stuttered, his legs shaking as he lost his balance and staggered.

This was unlike any monster they had faced before in New Eden.

It was a freaking dragon!

’How the fuck has been able to gain a dragon?’ Many of them thought.

In their sudden moment of distress, it made sense to them why the type of beast that this Khan person had was hidden.

If it was revealed then, everywhere would have been thrown into chaos.

The players were like pebbles under the feet of the mighty beast as it turned its neck roaring.

Their first instincts were to flee.

But then...

Where would they run to?

Could they outrun such a great monster?

It looked no different from the images they all had from the real world fantasy stories.

A beast of absolute destruction!

******

"This is a game! We can’t die in real life!" one of them, who managed to muster a bit of courage, yelled out to encourage the others.

His words were able to fire them up and some of the Grand Nexus players felt the need to resist the beast.

After all, they will resurrect after they die, if they do.

But as they were able to proceed, their morale dropped to zero once again as they noticed a figure on top of the dragon.

It was Axton.

"It’s Khan!"

He stood there with his arms crossed, staring down at them with a cold gaze.

It was over and they all knew it.

Axton was not going to show any mercy even if they begged for their lives.

They all turned paper white from fear.

If they could shit their pants, they would have done that a long time ago.

This was not part of their expectations in any way.

The original plan was to bully and then defeat Axton since he was alone.

Their number was supposed to be an advantage for them and a source of fear for Axton.

Unfortunately, they did not account for this.

They had not expected, in their wildest imagination, that Axton would have a dragon as a servant!

*Stomp*

The giant beast took a step, squashing so many players under its foot as damage indicators rang off like an alarm.

-40 HP!

-40 HP!

-60 HP!

-55 HP!

The environment was filled with horrific screams for help and palpable fear.

Axton continued to watch all the horror unfold without feeling any form of compassion to stop it.

*Ding*

[You have killed fellow players]

[Because you were attacked first, you will lose no reputation points]

[Forced drops have been triggered!]

[Slain players were be forced to release one item at random from their stack]

*Ding*

*Ding*

Items dropped like flies all over the place but Axton couldn’t care less since they were common grade items that added nothing to his character.

[100x critical hit : FAILED!]

Axton’s eyes widened.

"That’s a first," he muttered, interested to understand why.

[Slain players’ drops are not considered for critical hit effect]

"Hmm, I see. Looks like the system of this game doesn’t register drops from players I kill as rewards earned or something like that."

"Stop!"

"Stop!"

"Please stop!"

Silva continued to shout until his voice managed to reach Axton’s ears.

Axton looked down in silence.

He could hear Silva talk but not in clarity, as such he didn’t understand what he was saying.

Silva was almost in tears and on his knees.

He didn’t want to be killed.

It was going to be a heavy loss on his part.

Axton could see Silva’s mouth move and he noticed his hand gestures of plea.

’I wonder what that piece of trash is yapping about down there.’

While Silva was still making his plea, the dragon squashed him.
