CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32 : NINTH FLOOR

Chapter 32 : Ninth Floor

Axton found himself inside the 2nd floor of the demon spire facing a singular of demonic boars that were ready to devour him.

According to his original plan, he did not want to fight them and now that he knew that the one way to exit a floor was to find the stairs that led down, he was more convinced to avoid fights with these lesser beasts.

Nothing stopped Axton from easily slaying the singular of boars in front of him but he was being careful for the unknown.

He didn’t know how strong the final boss monster would be and did not want to take chances.

He needed to lure the boars with him into the third floor and the fourth floor... and more floors after that.

He was going to rely on their numbers to guarantee his win against the final boss monster.

The more the monsters the stronger he would be, enough to hold his own if the final boss was tremendously strong on its own.

Axton avoided their charge while searching for the exit out of this floor.

The few he couldn’t avoid, he responded with a technique of his own, killing the boar in question.

He didn’t want to kill them, but that didn’t mean that if he had a need to do so that he wouldn’t.

Outrun the demonic boars, Axton made his way to the staircase that led down to the third floor after so many evasion of attacks.

Third floor of the demon spire.

This floor harboured even more grade 1 demon boars, only that these ones were of a higher level — level 6.

"Operation Mass Recruitment Engage!" Axton yelled as he ran as well, dodging them and their attacks easily while they pursued him.

Fourth floor.

They ran into a familiar race — demon foxes. These demon foxes were level 7 beasts of grade 1.

Fifth floor harboured grade 1 beasts as well but level 8 demon boars.

Axton continued like this with several hundred beasts pursuing him nonstop.

He had a cocky expression on his face.

He loved this!

His body experienced a surge of adrenaline as he ran as if running for his life.

Sixth floor.

He landed on the sixth floor and escaping here was a bit more difficult with the number of grade 1 beasts already on his tail.

In the sixth floor, the boss there was a beastly figure that was uncannily shaped with its entire body made of rocks.

This was a grade 2 monster.

The grade 2 level 7 rock demon.

Forced to fight, Axton was pushed back a bit by the rock demon but this was only because he did not want to fight.

Seeing that the other beasts were gaining on him, he had no choice but to slay some of them and then take the rock demon a bit more seriously.

*Shing*

Axton blitzed past the rock demon, severing an arm off its shoulder as he escaped the floor.

Even though the beasts were close, Axton noticed that their speed was reducing as their stamina weaned.

They were getting tired and for each time they showed some level of exhaustion, Axton taunted them with being equally tired, raising their hopes of catching him before he makes another run for it.

This continued until he reached the ninth floor of the spire.

The second he stepped into the ninth floor, a repulsive voice resonated through and through.

"Who dares to enter?!"

*Quake* *Quake*

The ground shook violently and from underneath it, a monster rose to the surface.

This monster was huge and looked similar to the rock demon.

The only difference between the two of them was that the monster of the ninth floor was made of obsidian stones that seemed to have a reflection effect.

This rock demon was the final boss.

The monster that Axton dreaded how powerful it may be and as expected, it was indeed powerful.

...

[Rock Demon]

Grade : 4

Level : 13

Attack : 326

Defense : 530

HP : 630/630

...

This rock demon was a grade 4 monster!

It stood about 4 metres tall and the minute it noticed Axton’s presence, it sped forward.

*Swoosh*

A stone hammer manifested in its hands as he slashed it at Axton with the intention of turning the human into a paste.

*Bang*

The hammer landed and rose a thick cloud of dust and debris, making the entire floor shake terribly like a mini earthquake had occurred.

The sound was loud and the shockwave was devastating, throwing creatures left, right and centre.

The level 13 demon boss did not care for its ally when it attacked and Axton noted this immediately after having dodged the hammer attack.

One fifth of the monsters that chased him down here had been killed by that single attack and a few of them were sceptical to proceed, almost as if they wanted to retreat.

"Tch!" Axton gritted his teeth.

It looked like Axton was in the middle of death and the deep blue sea.

A horde of vicious monsters carefully approached from behind him and in front of him was a grade 4, level 13 monster that was ready to destroy everything in its path.

It was a sure death scenario for any ordinary player.

Nevertheless, Axton was feeling confident.

The fact that he was the user of [Battle God] was something to be boastful of. He had no fears when facing a group of enemies.

While he still assessed his next move, the talent activated on its own, boosting his stats to unimaginable levels thanks to the sheer number of enemies he was going to face.

Coupled with the fact that his beast had shared attributes with him, Axton was unimaginably strong at this point.

[Flash step]

Using [Flash step], his agility increased to augment his next attack as he conjured his aura sword.

"Grrrrr!" the rock demon boss roared, raising its giant stone hammer into the air, ready to slam down on Axton a second time.

It was late.

Axton was faster and this time around, he was stronger as well.
