CHAPTER 34: CHAPTER 34 : DEMOLISHER

Chapter 34 : Demolisher

A familiar name was once again spread all across the entire world of New Eden once again.

Khan.

"Fuck, this Khan dude again!"

"What the hell, man."

"Are the guys in his novice village daft? How can they let one player dominate?"

"Well, he’s dominating all of us. Don’t forget this is a worldwide announcement."

"Oh! Oops... you got me. I forgot."

"I’m still stuck running around with low level monsters and this guy is slaying grade 5 beasts."

"Now, I feel like quitting a third time."

Even though Axton as Khan had caused a rumble in the mind of most players, many of them had forced themselves to become used to it.

Some used it to fuel their motivation to keep players despite whatever happened.

After killing a grade 4 beast, he went straight to gun down the next strongest thing — a grade 5 beast.

Across the world of New Eden, silent gasps echoed around different players.

"I wonder what he’s gonna pull out of his ass next."

"Maybe he will complete the game by the time I wake up tomorrow."

"Cheating piece of shit!"

While all of this was going on, Axton was still on the ninth floor of the demon spire.

The ninth floor was the last floor for the upside down demon castle.

Axton placed the demon mana disc that the village chief gave him on the spot where the stone demon had risen from.

Instantly, a mysterious black energy swirled from under the floor, manifested from the centre of the mana disc with a violent bang that made Axton almost take shelter.

*Ding* *Ding*

[Demonic mana has been detected!]

"Demon race? Demon Emperor?"

Hearing the word "demon" and whatever else pertained to it, Axton could not help but try to think about it.

He had little to no information about these things and seeing that it surrounded him for the entirety of the village chief’s quest, he simply couldn’t just shrug it off.

Regardless, he was done with the quest and needed to return to the novice village to meet the chief.

(Novice village #666)

Axton found the village chief immediately he returned and handed the demon mana disc back to him.

The chief, accepting the disc, critically analysed it.

He could sense and see the dense amount of demonic mana that was inside of the item and his face went hopelessly bland.

He was worried and it was glaring.

"So it had begun..." he unknowingly voiced out his thoughts. "I hope we can stop it this time around or we are done for."

"Stop what, sir. What are you talking about?"

The village chief was startled on realising that he had let himself spill top secret.

Even Axton couldn’t help but overhear since he was close to him.

He looked at Axton and shook his head. "I need to get ready. There’s not much time left."

Axton’s eyebrows furrowed.

Before the village chief left him alone, he gave Axton a scroll.

"Take this," he said, advising the player. "Get stronger and empower yourself as fast as you can. Prepare yourself for any and everything to come."

Clearly, the chief was extremely bothered by something that he couldn’t get the older man to spill.

The cloud of anxiety over his head was palpable.

Nevertheless, there was not much Axton could do.

If the village chief wouldn’t tell him what exactly was going on, there was no way for him to get that information.

*Ding*

[Congratulations!]

[You have completed the village chief’s quest]

[You have earned the Berserker class scroll]

*Ding*

[100x critical hit initiated!]

[Choose one]

[100 Berserker class scrolls]

OR

[1 Demolisher class scroll]

Axton smiled with satisfaction.

...

[Demolisher class]

Demolisher class allows a warrior upgrade to a demolisher

Demolisher class can separate skills from items and imbue these skills into similar items. These skills can merge for greater effects or create a stronger skill. This requires in-game currency to work.

Demolisher increasing levelling by +3

...

From all that he read, it was clear that the demolisher class was more powerful than the berserker class.

His leveling was going to add three additional levels.

This meant that one level was equal to going up four levels.

Seeing what the demolisher class afforded him, he was overjoyed.

It seemed like he had seen a light at the end of the tunnel with what was bothering him.

’I can use this on the speed boots and extract the flash step skill,’ Axton processed deeply. ’If I can imbue the flash step skill into my talarins, then bingo!’

This effect of the demolisher class offered an avenue to refine what a player already had and make it better.

It also offered a way out.

Simply put, with demolisher, even if a player found a better item, they wouldn’t need to discard their previous item. Instead, they can extract the skill attached to the item in question.

In the end, nothing would be wasted.

A hundred berserker scroll was not going to beat that for him.

The only thing he would miss was an opportunity to keep one berserker scroll and sell the rest of the ninety-nine left.

Even then, money wouldn’t be able to buy the strength the demolisher class granted him.

If money could buy all the strength in New Eden, one of the wealthy players who rushed and bought the runic helmets would have been the top player instead of him.

He was satisfied with what he received but then again, he recalled the anxiety that beamed from the village chief’s face when he confirmed the existence of demonic mana inside the mana disc.

There were things he needed to clear the air about but he just did not have the resources yet.

"Demon race?"

"Demon emperor!"

"Why was the village chief that anxious? It was almost as if he had seen a ghost the moment he gave him the mana disc."

Axton wanted answers and felt.

The words of the village chief rang in his head and now that he meditated on it.

It was more of a warning than a gentle piece of advice.
