Chapter 35 : Offer

Things were definitely deeper than he imagined it to be.

Regardless, he must heed the village chief’s advice and get stronger since he didn’t know what changes were to come and how quickly they would occur.

*Ding*

[Congratulations!]

[You have awakened a new class]

[New class : Demolisher]

*Ding*

[Status]

Name : Khan

Class : Demolisher

Level : 8

Attack : 402

Defense : 480

Agility : 203

HP : 600/600

Mana : 300/300

...

With his current level, Axton was stronger than the stone demon he battled back at the ninth floor of the demonic spire.

His stats were incredibly high.

’As it stands now, I’m pretty much invincible in this novice village,’ he thought to himself. ’I wonder how I fair in comparison with other players from other novice villages.’

Axton then got to work.

*Click*

He conjured the speed boots.

Axton was going to try what the demolisher class could do.

He wanted to extract the [Flash step] skill from the speed boots and place it into the talarin shoes.

[Extraction process activated]

[Requirement : 20 gold coins (or equivalent)]

[Do you wish to proceed?]

[Yes / No]

’20 gold coins or its equivalent, huh? That’s about 2000 silver coins. Geez!’

Axton heaved a sigh. ’That’s basically my entire coin stash. What the hell?’

The extraction and distribution was a good feature but it was also quite expensive, with the cost being heavily determined by the grade of both the items and skills in question.

"Yes," Axton reluctantly responded to the prompt, not in any way happy that he was going to spend such an amount of coins.

*Ding*

[Extraction initiated...]

[Extracting skill : Flash step]

[0%... 37%... 61%... 94%...]

[Extraction completed]

[Skill has been successfully extracted!]

[Binding activated]

After a few minutes, another prompt followed.

[Skill successful transferred and bound]

*Ding*

[Testing compatibility of skills]

[Flash step + Floating]

[Compatibility : 100%]

*Ding*

[You have acquired a new skill!]

[New skill : Flight]

[Your skills uses combined attributes of its primary skills. It was require 60 mana points for activation and lasts for 5 minutes. (Cool down : 5 minutes)]

...

[Flight]

Grade : 5-star

Level : 15

Note : Every level up increases agility by 30 stats points and time limit by 30 seconds up to 5 levels.

...

Even if there was no upgrade in the skill in terms of its grade, Axton was able with their individual attributes being merged into one unique skill.

He maxed out the flight skill immediately using his stacked up experience points.

At this point, Axton was close to being able to do anything.

He was practically the only player at this point who could fly!

Following the success he had with creating [Flight], Axton was motivated to want to make more skills.

His next plan was to gather more coins and extract his [Flash Sword Attack] skill and bind it into the Aura Sword. If that would be possible, he would really love it.

This new ability offered him a leeway.

Even skills that seem too weak can be bound to a strong item and if they are compatible, that flaw is handled.

******

A short while later.

Axton was seated in front of a random building, seemingly lost in thoughts as he watched people, players and NPCs alike, going about their businesses.

He had been there for a while as if he didn’t have anything to do.

"Hey!" a bubbly voice greeted out of the blue and loudly as well.

Axton mildly startled and glanced up to see the person.

Noting the face, he narrowed his eyes at this person.

Her face was familiar, one that had elevated him in the real world without even knowing she did.

It was Crystal AKA QueenBee.

"How are you, big guy?!"

Axton exhaled. ’What the hell could she possibly want now?’

"I’ve been looking for you all over."

"Why?"

Axton was surprised.

He and QueenBee were not close friends or anything of sorts.

Yes. They did have business together but that was just it.

After that encounter, he didn’t bother reaching out to her or any other person who patronised him.

"Do you still have any items for sale? I need to get some for my people."

’Really?’

Axton was not buying into that reason. ’She expects me to believe that? The items that I sold to her were even bare minimum.’

Seeing that Axton was not responding, QueenBee persisted, pushing harder with her request.

"I can pay the same amount as before."

Axton didn’t know if QueenBee was daft or simply wanted to play the ignorant damsel chasing her prince charming because it was clear that after his auction, the number of common grade tools in players’ possession has increased.

With this increase comes a fall in both demand and prices.

Why the hell does she still want to buy common grade items from him, and at that price as well?

He couldn’t get it and that simply made Axton believe that there was another motive to her searching for him.

"Okay then. Your money, your choice," Axton muttered.

He handed over all of his common grade equipment to QueenBee and as this transaction was ongoing, QueenBee couldn’t shake off a single thought from her mind.

’This guy...’ she thought. ’Did he really beat all of the Grand Nexus like the intel told me? He’s practically a one man army. How?’

Though Axton did not have as many common grade items like he did during the auction, he was still able to get a reasonable sum of money out of QueenBee that made him very happy.

’If she has this amount to throw around, then she’s definitely rich or from a wealthy family in real life.’

"Join my guild," QueenBee offered abruptly.

Silence.

Axton said nothing.

He simply stared.

QueenBee placed her hands behind her back and smiled at him with an enchanting charm.

"You will get more than this at my Dragon Claw guild though."

She was adamant on recruiting him at this point.

"No."

Axton’s response was immediate and cold.

QueenBee felt the sharp blades of his rejection pierce through her chest all the way to the back but she was good at hiding this emotion.

"Fine. Your choice though," she said, pretending not to be bothered by it. "How about we become friends here then?"

"No," Axton answered coldly once again.
