Chapter 39 : Dungeon Raid (2)

Following the usage of the [Shock blast] skill, a large gust of wind manifested, bending trees against the strength of their sturdy roots and throwing whatever had no solid tie to the ground about.

The tanks of Dragon Claw maintained their position in front of the guild’s formation, holding up their shields with every drop of strength that they could muster to fend off the air pressure generated by the shockwave.

It only lasted for a moment but it felt like a long time to the tank class players.

In a matter of seconds, the dead bodies of the wolf-hyena hybrid of beasts were strewn all over the forest floor.

Axton walked over the dead bodies, not even sparing them a look as he checked to see if there were any surviving beasts.

The monsters were all dead and gradually dispersing into tiny pixels.

"He killed all of them..."

"...in one move?!"

"A-a... one-shot!"

It was expected since [Shock blast] was one of the overkill skills that Axton had in his arsenal.

A skill that combined his defense and attack numbers into one was definitely capable of doing unimaginable damage to his targets.

"That shockwave? Was that his attack?"

"I didn’t even see how he did it."

"As expected of the strongest player."

They were feeling goosebumps from witnessing Axton’s show of strength as they caught glimpses of the fight, or rather, beat down.

They were left speechless.

They had been worried when they stepped their feet inside the dungeon but now that Khan had acted, wiping out a pack of monsters with one attack, the fear they felt was gradually leaving their bodies.

For the first time, QueenBee looked at someone and felt inefficient.

She was used to praises for being exceptional but in this case, Axton’s action spoke volumes of the gap between him and them.

QueenBee did not lack confidence or spirit but right now, she couldn’t find those qualities.

"Let’s go!" Hart shouted, snapping them all back to reality. "It will only get harder from here. No slacking!"

Their ginger skyrocketed!

Morale was off the roof!

The members of the Dragon Claw guild were all in high spirits, ready to bulldoze through any obstacle!

Axton was their miracle.

Regardless, they were not going to let an outside take all the glory.

They were not going to let Axton kill all the dungeon monsters that came their way.

They were going to show strength and courage!

They were going to protect the pride of the Dragon Claw guild!

They all proceeded forward, only to run into another group of monsters.

Before the Dragon Claw guild could act, Axton one-shotted the monster group again.

The beasts were just too weak for him.

Hart’s jaw dropped to the floor.

All that fire and spirit that they monster may not really be of any use to Axton, seeing how he did not even allow a single member get a hit in.

’This guy...’ Hart’s mouth terribly twitched as he watched. ’At this rate, none of us will even get a kill.’

*Ding*

[You have acquired a common grade item : Common Ring]

[You have earned 100 copper coins]

[100x critical hit initiated!]

[Common ring — HP ring]

[100 copper coins — 10,000 copper coins]

The HP ring, like the name implies, was an item that restored a player’s HP when depleted.

He wore the grade 3 item in his right ring finger immediately and continued onward.

They continued through the forest until they came across a black panther with glowing golden eyes.

[Black Panther]

Grade : 1

Level : 8

Attack : 43

Defense : 35

HP : 90/90

Seeing that the black panther was about twice most of their levels, the guild members were sceptical about fighting the beast in front of them.

It was a known that the higher the level of a beast, the stronger it was and in situations where two or more beasts are the same level, the one with the higher grade was stronger.

"Protect Khan!"

Since they couldn’t fight, they stepped back to play a support role for Axton, who clearly was going to fight the black panther regardless of what they said.

Any of them attacking was simply going to get in Axton’s way, making them a burden.

The panther growled and dashed forward with an incredible speed, moving with a slight zig-zag pattern to its run.

*Clank*

Tiny sparkles of fire were released into the air as Axton parried the panther’s claw attack with his sword.

"He’s a swordsman?"

"I would have sworn that he brawled hand to hand."

This was the first time they had seen Axton make a move.

In their last two encounters with monsters, he killed them all using [Shock blast].

’Hmm. They seem to be buying it,’ Axton thought as he glanced at them from the corner of his eye.

He was pretending to have a little tough time fighting the panther.

Axton, having noticed the shock in their eyes, decided on his own not to make it seem so easy even when it was not a problem for him to one-shot the black panther as well.

Axton allowed the fight to linger for a few minutes before taking the panther down.

More and more panthers appeared.

"Don’t just stand there," Axton urged them. "Fight! Even if it’s two or three on one."

The members of the guild who were suited for combat sprang into action, putting themselves in small teams to take them to the coming panthers.

Alone, they couldn’t deal any significant damage but in groups of two or three and with the help of QueenBee and other healers, their chances of killing one monster increased notably.

*Swoosh*

Monsters corpses dropped but there were still more panthers to kill, forcing Axton to act quickly since they still had more of their journey left to complete.

[Aura Sword Summon]

Energy gathered in the air and lengthened into a set of three very long swords that one could barely see the hilt of the sword from an ant’s view.

With a gesture of Axton’s hand, the three large swords fell on the battle scene.

*Boom*
