Chapter 40 : Dungeon Raid (3)

As the dust cleared, the three aura swords had decimated the panthers left as their bodies lay lifeless and gradually vanished into tiny particles.

Axton gained experience points and coins but his critical hit activated.

However, he was a bit disappointed that he had not gained an item apart from the HP ring.

That, however, did not matter much to him.

Axton levelled up his [Flash sword attack] to the max as he had gathered enough experience points for that.

His agility when attacking with the skill increases from 3x his base stat to 5x.

’Perfect!’ he cheered internally.

His original plan was to extract the skill with his demolisher class privilege and bind it to another item but that would be later when he gathered enough coins.

Extraction and binding of the flash step cost him a fortune, how much a maxed out flash sword attack.

He needed to be ready with the necessary amount of coins and he already expected it to cost him gold coins.

******

It was crazy to the members of the Dragon Claw guild how much stronger than them Axton was.

Compared to the average assessment of players in New Eden, many of the guild members were considered high level players.

They were arguably elites among the many players in New Eden and yet they felt weak in front of Axton.

They never imagined that there was someone who would make all of them take the back seat in a situation like this while he handled all the heat.

They had witnessed unfathomable things happen in this dungeon and they were not even sure if Axton was done yet.

"Just how strong is this guy?"

They couldn’t put a gauge on his strength or even make a good guess.

They were stronger but Axton was simply and evidently stronger.

They knew nothing about him.

However, they were glad, very glad that he was on their side.

******

They regrouped and started planning their next set of actions.

While this was ongoing, Hart approached Axton who was seated away from the group and drinking water.

"What’s your affiliation?" Hart asked, going straight to the point.

Axton looked at him.

He was confused as he did not understand what Hart meant.

Hart exhaled and then sat beside him, looking him in the eyes and asking the same question again.

"Affiliation?" Axton repeated this time around.

Hart believed that there was no way Axton got this strong without any backups, either in the game or in the real world.

Some powerful people would definitely have shown and are, perhaps, still showing their support for the strongest player in the game.

"Yes."

Axton shook his head and continued drinking his water.

"Ah," he moaned from satisfaction, "I have none. I’m a solo player."

Hart froze for a second, shocked by Axton’s answer.

That was unbelievable!

To be able to achieve all of the things he had done all by himself was too good to be true.

Hart knew that powerful individuals and groups in the real world always sought to support someone with great potential in the game.

Theirs, the Dragon Claw Guild, received support from the United States, all thanks to the influence of Crystal (QueenBee) and Trey’s family.

The same was true for some other groups and individuals in New Eden currently.

But to do all of these things that this Khan person had done without any support from a powerful house?

Hart found it a hard pill to swallow.

Axton, on the other hand, was not at all willing to prove himself whether he was telling the truth or not.

"It’s cool, man," Hart nervously laughed while scratching the back of his head. "just feels good that you’re part of us."

Axton stared at him with a blank face, wondering what this cover up was for.

Was he feeling weird for asking such a question?

Certainly, yes.

Meanwhile, QueenBee caught herself stealing glances at Axton and Hart while they talked.

Her face gradually blushed red as she kept looking.

*Tap*

A hand tapped her shoulder, bringing her back to her senses.

QueenBee turned around and saw the group staring at her.

Apparently, they had been trying to get her attention for the past few seconds but to no avail.

"Ahh! No! No! No!" she exclaimed, quick to defend herself, and making them burst into laughter.

"You were staring," one called her out and laughed.

"We caught red-handed."

"QueenBee has found her King Bee."

"Shut up, dude! That’s a lame joke."

"Hahahaha!" they all laughed together.

Everyone was happy.

As long as they were not a burden to Axton in battle, mostly supporting him from the rear was not a bad idea either.

With him in their team, the guild members now truly believed that they could clear this dungeon despite it being in hell mode.

"Alright! Let’s go!" QueenBee announced.

Hearing this, Axton and Hart turned in the direction of her voice.

"We are moving already?" Axton commented.

Hart shrugged. "I guess so. She’s the boss."

******

As they walked through the forest, they ran into more monsters and these ones were grade 2 monsters of level 6 to 8.

*Swoosh*

A gust of wind spread across the battlefield in an instant, forcing everyone around to reinforce their balance to avoid being blown away.

"W-Wh-What... is that?!"

"A dr-dragon!"

"He really had a dragon!"

"I thought it was all jokes and rumours."

Axton smiled as his beast summon lowered its head behind him.

"Kill every single monster," Axton ordered.

At this moment, Axton was practically showing off because he would have handled these current set of monsters alone without any help whatsoever.

*Roar*

[Dragon’s Roar]

Dragon’s roar left the monsters in a state of daze, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

"This is your chance," Axton announced to the rest of the guild.

They were more than happy to kill these monsters, feeling satisfied as they could finally contribute to what was supposed to be their guild’s dungeon raid.

Seeing the height of joy on their faces, Axton chuckled and shook his head.
