Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 1450 - 1451: Attempting to Equip
CHAPTER 1450: CHAPTER 1451: ATTEMPTING TO EQUIP
"Looks pretty good. If you don’t plan on getting a Beastmaster with Fire Attribute next, this thing could be quite useful for you, unless you always travel with me."
Looking at Qi Chen and the others, Feng Yuan casually said. If they traveled with him, these things would be unnecessary. After all, with him around, Spirit Beasts could enhance these tools’ capabilities. However, he believed that wasn’t possible for them.
"Traveling together would be nice, but we also need to hone our skills."
Dou Yanlan shook her head and picked up a forged campfire stove, noting that following Feng Yuan wouldn’t let them develop their skills. Even if he intended for them to take action, it wouldn’t work since his strength was too great. Many potential accidents would be prevented by him beforehand, ensuring safety but denying them the chance to learn from mistakes.
"So, you’ll have to operate independently. Let me see, besides this, a hook lock might be required. The industrial metal forging in the Omeilia Region can’t be compared to the Divine Land Region. Of course, if you plan to use those handmade masterpieces, then forget I said anything."
Checking the shop’s items, Feng Yuan spoke. Although he wasn’t clear on specifics, he could make some judgments based on regional specialties, not to mention that Yang Hongzhi was there.
The group wandered through several shops, eventually purchasing items they needed immediately. As for other items? They weren’t bought unless necessary. However, if faced with a clearance sale, Feng Yuan wouldn’t hesitate to take advantage of it.
It was no surprise to see Feng Yuan only looking around without buying anything. Although Xiao Ji’s attribute was special, with two Divine Beasts by his side, most tools were unnecessary. Besides, Feng Yuan could use the Spirit Beasts’ ultimate moves, and he seemed to possess no specific attribute, capable of performing any type of ultimate move.
"What a pity. I don’t really like the clothes here; they’re too aristocratic."
Holding Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan said regretfully. Since neither Xiao Ji nor Big Cat knew how long they’d shop there, they decided this would be the last stop. As for souvenirs? Not a priority now, though there were several magic-related souvenirs here. Feng Yuan just wasn’t interested in them.
Veronia curiously asked Feng Yuan
"Then what style of clothing do you prefer? Divine Land’s traditional style?"
"Something like that. Also, primitive styles like those barbaric wolf pelts. Heh heh, what do you think? A wolf-skin cloak with a wolf-head hat?"
Turning around abruptly, Feng Yuan asked Veronia. Thinking for a moment, she replied
"It doesn’t quite suit you. After all... you aren’t that robust."
"I’m just agile!"
"But do you want to try that climbing tool? Hmm, let me recall, the clerk mentioned it was in this direction."
Glancing at Qi Chen and the others, Feng Yuan suggested. Even though they didn’t intend to purchase the somewhat impractical tool, it so happened that after buying other items, they received a set each as gifts from the store because of their substantial purchases. With Yang Hongzhi and Feng Yuan there, they naturally selected the best items, though the prices were quite striking.
Qi Chen and the others were fine with it, given their limited budget; they hadn’t bought much. Yang Hongzhi, however, took the opportunity to buy a lot of gear, reasoning that he didn’t know when he’d next visit the Omeilia Region. In the Divine Land Region, gear might not be available or would be more expensive.
"Speaking of which, isn’t spending so much money a problem?"
Qi Chen looked worriedly at Yang Hongzhi, thinking many of the items weren’t needed daily, and the cost was exorbitant.
Looking at Qi Chen, Yang Hongzhi shook his head and smiled, saying
"Of course, it’s fine. This money is really just my current monthly income. Don’t underestimate the tasks our academy team can take on; they’re unlike ordinary Beastmasters. The tasks teams undertake are quite lucrative, and they trust academy students like us."
"But in the first academic year, you might not reach this level of income, except for him."
Yang Hongzhi glanced at Feng Yuan while speaking. After all, academy students couldn’t take on cross-rank tasks. They had just enrolled, possessing only Good Level Beastmaster strength, so they naturally couldn’t take on highly profitable tasks. As for Feng Yuan? His strength eclipsed even Yang Hongzhi’s, obviously unrestricted.
"I don’t need to do those tasks. If I really want to work, I could help the Special Duty Team. Though it might not pay much now, it’s convenient when needing their help later."
Feng Yuan shrugged, to which Yang Hongzhi chuckled
"Truly enviable. I remember when I first enrolled, taking every task and filling my days, yet earning less than I do now with just a few tasks."
"No help for it; the strength gap is evident. The lower the rank, the more Beastmasters there are. Considering Najia’s combat power, you’d earn more than now."
"Better not, Najia’s a friend, and I can’t do that..."
Glancing at Najia, Yang Hongzhi shook his head. They reached the training area the clerk pointed out, seeing many obstacles and Beastmasters training their climbing skills using them.
"Looks decent. Want to try? Start with that one."
Addressing Qi Chen, Feng Yuan placed Xiao Ji down and charged forward. He quickly grabbed the simulated cliff’s rocky wall, climbing swiftly. The safety officer blew his whistle at Feng Yuan’s reckless action, readying his Spirit Beast to catch him. But Feng Yuan didn’t care; he soon reached the top, squatting and smiling down at Qi Chen and the others, loudly saying
"Give it a try~ Don’t go free climbing like me!"
Remembering something, Feng Yuan warned. Qi Chen and the others didn’t have his abilities. Seeing the safety officer’s gaze, Qi Chen awkwardly scratched his head, while Dou Yanlan chuckled, putting on climbing gloves and shoes, saying
"Let’s go. Having someone watch over is safer than practicing alone."
Though familiar with the tools, Yang Hongzhi resisted the urge, knowing he couldn’t yet match Feng Yuan’s level, since his Energy Control Power wasn’t sufficient.
Reaching for the raised rock, Qi Chen found his glove sticking to it. A special force enveloped his body, supporting him as he cautiously climbed. He noticed the force didn’t entirely act on his hands and feet but instead supported him to prevent falling.
"Don’t let go!"
Noticing Qi Chen’s instability, Feng Yuan quickly shouted. Knowing the climbing set’s principle involved a special mineral that created a supporting force after processing, he realized it wasn’t about floating. The force ultimately acted on the gloves and shoes’ contact points.
If Qi Chen let go, he’d definitely fall; it’s the common mistake beginners make with this tool.
Fortunately, Qi Chen didn’t let go, continuing to climb upward. Feng Yuan and the safety officer felt relieved. Veronia coolly glanced at the nearby curious looks, snorted, and, clutching a parasol, seemingly strolled up the rocky wall. Witnessing this, the onlookers quickly shifted their gazes.
They assumed Veronia’s attire would lead to embarrassment, but her technique amazed them.
"Was that necessary?"
Watching Veronia, Feng Yuan remarked helplessly, guessing her intent. Glancing contemptuously at the lower crowd, Veronia responded
"Otherwise, should I warn them? Not interested."
"True... Well, your move should deter them. But how’s Belusir getting up?"
Feng Yuan scratched his head, looking down to ask Belusir. Uncertain about its abilities, he doubted it could mimic Veronia. She used the World of Mirrors’ power to manipulate gravity locally—something Belusir couldn’t do.
