Chapter 1452: 1453 Drunk
Chapter 1452: Chapter 1453 Drunk
Watching Feng Yuan and those people having a loud and cheerful time, Agunas sat quietly at the table holding a teacup. Although Xiao Ji was always circling around Feng Yuan, it seemed as if Feng Yuan had forgotten about him. Veronia, holding a glass of red wine, sat beside Agunas and said puzzledly,
“Doesn’t he dislike drinking? Why is he…”
“Let him vent a little. Why, aren’t you joining them?”
Agunas didn’t explain but simply looked at Veronia, who shook her head and said,
“No way, I’m not used to drinking with a rowdy crowd. But he seems a bit off. Are you sure you don’t want to check on him? If something happens to him, we wouldn’t be able to stop him.”
“No, I…”
After a moment of silence, Agunas looked around and set up a small veil obscuring them from view, then quietly explained to Veronia and Belusir what happened back at the Stone Giant Dominion in the Dynasty Era. After hearing Agunas’s account, Veronia took a sip of her wine and pondered for a while before saying,
“I see, can’t let go? Actually, I’m the same…”
“If it was that easy to let go, how different would we be from Them?”
Belusir said softly, seeing Agunas and Veronia looking at him, he revealed a kind smile and said,
“To Them, being heartless is probably the best option, isn’t it?”
“You’re not wrong. If They were as emotional as us, I’m not sure what kind of terrible things would happen.”
Putting down her wine glass, Veronia sighed and looked at Belusir with a playful smile, saying,
“Although I’m not used to drinking and chatting with strangers, it’s different with familiar friends. How about having a drink with me?”
With a smile on his face, Belusir didn’t refuse, just like Veronia, who reminisces about the past, he too has many memorable friends. Agunas flicked his tail and said,
“I’ll set up a curtain for you two, just don’t get too rowdy.”
He didn’t lack things to reminisce about, but compared to Veronia and them, the time he went through wasn’t long. To him, it seemed like he closed his eyes during the later stages of the Mythical Era and opened them again in the present day. Without the passage of long years, he didn’t have deep feelings about it and thus didn’t plan to join their exchange.
Qi Chen saw Feng Yuan getting drunk and couldn’t help but step forward to try to stop him, but a drunk Feng Yuan wasn’t someone he could persuade. Seeing Feng Yuan continually trying to get Qi Chen to drink more, Dou Yanlan chuckled and said,
“This place is really interesting. Although everyone’s a stranger, in such a lively atmosphere, they seem like friends who’ve known each other for years.”
“This might be why this tavern is ranked in the top ten, although their food is pretty good too.”
Yang Hongzhi nodded in agreement. Dou Yanlan looked at Yang Hongzhi with curiosity and asked,
“Don’t you plan to join them in revelry?”
“It feels a little awkward, and I don’t want to trouble Najia.”
Eating his dessert, Yang Hongzhi glanced at the noisy crowd and spoke softly, while Najia, talking with Xiao Hei, looked up at Yang Hongzhi, hesitated for a moment but didn’t speak. This was his goodwill, and how could he refuse it? Moreover, he believed Yang Hongzhi didn’t need to let loose in such a place.
“True, not everyone needs a wild party to forget their troubles. Hopefully, he can let go of his heart’s burdens after this.”
Looking at Feng Yuan, Dou Yanlan sighed softly, while Yang Hongzhi looked at Dou Yanlan in confusion and asked,
“What’s wrong with him? Anything unusual?”
“Nothing.”
Sipping her tea, Dou Yanlan didn’t explain. Although she noticed something herself, she suspected Feng Yuan had some concern hidden deep inside. Considering his strange attitude towards Chen Xin and the others, she suspected it was quite serious, for things that seemed very serious to her were just small matters in Feng Yuan’s eyes.
They stayed at the tavern restaurant until it was very late, leaving only when it was closing time. Xiao Ji, worried, kept gazing at the muddle-headed Feng Yuan and occasionally barked at Veronia. She glanced at Feng Yuan and said,
“Why not turn into a puppy so Big Cat can carry you?”
Hearing Veronia’s words, Kong Qing hissed at Big Cat several times, transferring Pomiti from its head. Seeing Big Cat looking at him, Feng Yuan hesitated for a moment before turning into a Little Husky and laying on Big Cat’s head. Seeing the Little Husky remain motionless, Long Boduo walked over curiously and pinched the Little Husky’s ear.
“What are you doing?”
Turning his head, the Little Husky shook his ear in dissatisfaction and said, perhaps due to drunkenness, the Little Husky didn’t argue with Long Boduo and instead fell asleep on Big Cat’s head.
“His drinking behavior is quite good, at least he doesn’t make a scene.”
Observing the Little Husky sleeping quietly on Big Cat’s head, Veronia said in surprise. Qi Chen, holding the sleeping Pot Leaf in his arms, looked at the Little Husky and said,
“This is the first time I’ve seen him drunk. He usually either doesn’t drink or only takes a sip. To be this drunk, it’s the first time. I wonder what’s going on.”
About the environment, he didn’t think it was great, even though he hadn’t gone back in time with Feng Yuan or experienced the Stone Giant Dominion tavern events. But they had visited Calien together, where there were nostalgic taverns. While it wasn’t as lively there, he hadn’t shown any odd behavior that time either.
“Not sure what he’s thinking, but isn’t this good?”
Veronia smiled slightly and said. Najia looked at Agunas and recalled something, asking,
“How’s your investigation going?”
“No results. That guy just seemed to disappear, and I wonder if someone is playing tricks.”
Glancing at Feng Yuan, Agunas said. Although it felt somewhat like Feng Yuan’s doing, he knew the other well. Not to mention he wouldn’t mess around with big matters. Even if there were, he wasn’t the type to watch others run around like headless chickens and endure it for long. With his understanding of Feng Yuan, if it were him, he would have spoken up long ago.
“Probably not him. He wouldn’t do such a thing. But if it’s not a prank, it could be very dangerous.”
Najia swept a glance at the Little Husky and looked at Agunas, saying. The other party nodded helplessly and said,
“The problem is, we can’t find any clues, not even traces in the river of time. This is really troublesome.”
“Hmm… then maybe we can only wait for them to make a move. But it’s still…”
“Sigh, that might be our only option. Worrying more won’t help. I’ve already contacted the Lorraine Tower, and we’ll pay extra attention.”
Sighing, Agunas said, looking at the other party. Najia asked in confusion,
“Why don’t you consider involving other Divine Beasts? With their help, it should be easier to find the enemy, right?”
“Not for now. It’s not that they’re unnecessary, but we don’t know if anyone has a problem. If you weren’t around him, I wouldn’t feel at ease either.”
Glancing at Yang Hongzhi and the others who weren’t paying attention, Agunas said. Understanding the other party’s meaning, Najia glanced at the direction of Yang Hongzhi and said,
“I’ll help keep an eye out, but shouldn’t you also tell him about this?”
“He’s like this now, I’m afraid there’s nothing much he can do.”
Glimpsing at the Little Husky slumped on Big Cat’s head, Agunas said. As Big Cat moved, the Little Husky’s drooping tail slightly swayed. It seemed Feng Yuan was indeed drunk.
“Tomorrow is the celebration event; it’s best not to disturb his mood with this matter.”
Veronia whispered to Agunas. Flicking his tail and pondering for a moment, he said,
“You’re right; this isn’t something to bring to him now.”
As they chatted, they returned to the hotel, and seeing that the Little Husky showed no signs of waking while sprawled on Big Cat’s head, Belusir, who followed to check on the situation, amusingly picked him up and placed him on his bed. Watching the Little Husky’s gently rising and falling body, Xiao Ji didn’t think much about it and turned into an Eggshell Chicken to snuggle over.
Seeing Big Cat and the others getting restless, Agunas flicked his tail and quietly said,
“If you all squeeze over, he might complain again in the morning.”
Kong Qing stopped Little Ice Cream from running over, hissing in front of it, while Big Cat glanced at Little Husky and Xiao Ji sitting on its carpet, not knowing what to think.
