Don: The Blood Chains
Chapter 60: The Plan.
CHAPTER 60: THE PLAN.
While Joseph and Pablo were talking or more like arguing about the whole plan Joseph wanted to go with, to be the bait for the attack and the victim of it... yeah, he really wanted to go through with that plan. And to be honest, it was a great plan, because they could strike back. Though he knew he might get shot... or even killed... well, he didn’t really care about that. Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, there was another argument going on with Misa, Julian, and Jimmy.
"I think we should at least monitor him." Jimmy said as he was now in the car with Julian and Misa. "Who knows what his next steps will be, and how bad it’s going to be for us."
Yeah, it was there. If he does something atrocious, then the DSA will be fucked. Especially now that they know that he is an insane person, who just calmly speaks with the DSA director knowing full well that he is surrounded by agents... he is capable of doing something that would cause a catastrophe... though Julian thought differently about that.
"He is on the blacklist, so we are just going to sit back and watch him." He looked at Jimmy. "We’re only going to intervene if he goes off from our plans."
"Our plans?" Jimmy asked back, because he had no plans nor anything they talked about.
"He is on the blacklist to be our hitman on the mafia, on the underworld, to clean up what we can’t." He sighed. "Let’s be honest with ourselves, there are people we can’t even touch because of their connections, even though we are supposed to be the most powerful agency. There are still these fuckers who we can’t just do anything about... but that’s where he comes in the picture. But if he trails off of it, and starts being someone who terrifies the public, if he kills the wrong people, then we intervene with him."
"What if he takes it on the international level?" Misa asked. "I mean yeah, Vienna has the potential to make hundreds of millions, but on the international level, it’s billions, and if he does that, he’s going to go out from our oversight into international agencies."
The risk, the biggest risk of all about it, is if it’s what Joseph does then they are fucked on a whole other level, because the international level is just too big to control it, and well, it would eventually come where Joseph reaches the point where the market in the homeland is under his total monopoly, and drug lords love to go overboard and build up a cocaine empire.
"Again, we intervene, but that is for the far future. He doesn’t even have a production line, or anything, so let’s worry about Vienna first. Now let’s worry about that, to keep him in the straight line, also like being the shepherd of him."
"Shepherd?" Misa laughed up. "I think that is impossible, he is unpredictable. Let’s say, will be the shepherd of him... if someone attacks him, or some people will make an alliance against him, then we wouldn’t be able to be the shepherd of him, only the guarding dogs to not let him rampage over the city."
"That’s good too." Julian looked at Misa. "We want him to be furious to go on a rampage and kill as much as he can... and in my opinion, he would do just that, without the limit of him." He looked out of the window. "He is not like his father... he is far more dangerous, but he still knows what is right and what is wrong, he is not going to bomb civilians... at least not right now, but even if he does we intervene, as I said earlier... now just let’s build around him, let’s see what he does, and make our steps accordingly." He looked at them again. "Gather every evidence, every footage, clean up after him... and when he’s at his peak, maybe a few years in the future, we will use all of it against him, we will take him down. We don’t rush it. That’s the key. Let him think he’s free. Let him think he’s in control."
Misa’s eyes narrowed. "And if he catches on?"
"Then we adjust." Julian replied. "He’s smart, but not unbreakable. Everyone cracks. He just needs the right pressure at the right time. We keep feeding him victories." Julian continued. "Let him taste power. Let him believe the world bends to his will. The higher he climbs, the more dangerous he becomes, but also, the harder he’ll fall when we pull the ground from under him."
"And what about the others? The ones who follow him?" Jimmy asked.
"They’ll follow him into the fire." Julian said. "That’s what makes it perfect. When he burns, they’ll burn with him.Let him change the world if he wants. In the end... we’ll be the ones who write how the story ends.... as always."
There was a moment of silence before Jimmy spoke.
"I disagree with you, I mean his father, he was untouchable, and if it wasn’t for Joseph, who ordered the hit on him, they could have still been in rule, the DSA would have been non-existent as well as the government... it’s kinda unbelievable to think about it... he didn’t just kill his father but the whole alliance and with it came the new era."
"But that’s the point, Jimmy." Julian looked at him. "This is not the past, the mafia still has power, yes, but not as much as back then. They were ruling the country literally writing laws but now it’s over. We live in a country that’s no longer a paradise for gangsters, though yeah, it’s still riddled with them but the hierarchy changed, the powerplay changed and they don’t own the whole government, the police."
Yeah, the new era that came with their death is just unbelievable, it’s like the people changed along with it. The police became less corrupt, and the government even built a whole dome around itself to prevent corruption. Though corruption still exists, it’s nowhere near the level it used to be, when gangsters literally sat in ministerial positions in the government. Everything changed, and it’s all thanks to Joseph, who set the avalanche in motion.
"Imeria Cassian started the golden era of the gangster, was on the top of the game with alliances and then his son Joseph Cassian just destroyed all of it... and now he will start a new era... this fucking Cassians are something else." Misa said and as he thought about it, it was more like a blessing from God... or from a demon.
Cassain was able to start a new era then and it... and now starts again a new one from scratch, while he has nothing but some men and money. No influence, no power, no nothing... but still he is the most dangerous one of them all.
And for good reason, he is dangerous, he doesn’t care about anything, no fear of death or anything else. It was almost like he thought of himself as already lost, already dead... yeah and now he is just chillin in a park sitting on a bench.
Waiting for a bullet to be fired at him, waiting for something to happen to him.
Pablo was stressing about it, he didn’t want to go along with the plan for obvious reasons, but Joseph insisted that he would be the bait to find out exactly who was against them, who was brave enough to send a hit team after him... and bold enough to attack him in broad daylight.Though they were prepared for it, Pablo and many of the guys in plain clothes were all around Joseph as he sat on the bench, casually looking around and enjoying the sunshine and the surroundings.
Trees, lots of people... yeah, he chose a spot to be attacked where it was completely packed with civilians, but that was part of his plan. It’s hard to actually hit him there, and even if they start shooting, it will make the attackers look bad... because some of the bullets will inevitably hit innocent bystanders.
But it was exciting, so exciting that he could get off the smile of his face, just sitting there, while his whole being shaking from this excitement from this, chance of him being killed, the chance that this day will be his death.... yeah it was the most excited day since he was out of prison.
Yeah, the excitement of being attacked and then able to retaliate, the excitement of it that he will, with a broad smile on his face, go kill whoever was the one behind it, going to torture that person... the excitement of a war coming up.
He felt alive like never before. Every sound around him was louder, sharper. His heart was pounding fast, but he didn’t care. He was ready... ready to face whatever came.
The world was about to change, and he would be the one to change it.
