Don't Fall For Me, CEO
Chapter 640: Is the Gold Award in the Bag?
CHAPTER 640: CHAPTER 640: IS THE GOLD AWARD IN THE BAG?
"She’s got some things to handle, and she won’t be coming to training this week."
Walter Wright’s response immediately left Patrick Sullivan dissatisfied.
"With the competition around the corner, she’s still not coming to training? What on earth is more important than contributing to the team’s honor?"
You see, every word from Patrick Sullivan is from the perspective of the collective interest, leaving no room for argument.
This is exactly why Bianca White wanted to clarify everything to him.
Under his questioning, Walter Wright was also at a loss.
"I don’t know either."
As for the reason July Quinn couldn’t attend training, Thomas Grant merely glossed over it vaguely.
Walter here also didn’t know how to explain, afraid of hurting Patrick Sullivan’s heart, who was eager to fight for the honor of the collective.
But the more it’s left unsaid, the more it fuels the fire of Patrick Sullivan’s anger.
So during the following training sessions, Patrick Sullivan would question it every day.
"Why is the new member July Quinn not attending training again? If she’s not even willing to put in the least effort, what if she embarrasses our team in the actual competition?"
After days of receiving such soul-searching questions from Patrick Sullivan, Walter Wright had no choice but to convey Patrick’s concerns to Commander Thomas Grant.
Unexpectedly, Thomas Grant’s response was, "Tell Patrick to just take care of himself and not disgrace the team. Don’t end up crying at home when the new member snatches the gold medal!"
Walter Wright was somewhat confused.
"Is the new member really that strong? She hasn’t attended a single training session. Are you really pinning all your hopes on her?"
"Although she hasn’t attended a single training session, she will absolutely outshine everyone in the end."
Thomas Grant was inexplicably confident.
Indeed, although he had only seen July Quinn use a gun once, he was utterly impressed.
So he firmly believes that as long as July Quinn competes, the gold medal is secured.
"I don’t think your confidence is good, what if we can’t bring back even a single trophy? That would be utterly embarrassing."
"How about we place a bet? If our new member wins the gold medal, you have to run two laps in women’s clothes in front of all the Vanguard War Generals."
Walter Wright initially wanted to refuse, as he thought running in women’s clothes in front of the War Generals would be quite humiliating.
But given that the new member hasn’t attended even a single training session, despite possibly being skilled, she surely couldn’t handle the pressure of the arena and might perform poorly...
So after weighing it over, Walter Wright replied, "Alright, let’s bet. If your new member doesn’t win the gold medal, you’ll also have to wear women’s clothes and run two laps around the field in front of all the War Generals."
"Alright, it’s a deal."
"No problem, a gentleman’s word is his bond."
Thus, the Vanguard Warlord Commander and Vice Leader of The Keaton Family made a bet to run in women’s clothes.
Bianca White was unaware of the bet between Thomas Grant and Walter Wright.
All she knew was that despite her best efforts, she couldn’t get July Quinn to spar with her before the competition.
Because ever since July Quinn joined the Keaton Family’s Vanguard War Generals, she hadn’t shown up at the headquarters.
Yet, the other Vanguard War Generals hadn’t stopped talking about July Quinn.
This made Bianca, who was once the group’s favorite, feel rather neglected.
Because of this, she took the chance to "casually" mention it to her cousin Roman Kidd while visiting her aunt’s house for dinner today.
At the time, she seemed to have little appetite.
Seeing this, her aunt got worried, "Bianca, why don’t you have an appetite? I remember you loved these dishes I make! Is it that I didn’t do well today?"
"Auntie’s food is still the best, but I’ve been under a lot of training pressure recently, so I don’t have much of an appetite."
