CHAPTER 131 - BENIO, YUI’S CHARM [BONUS CHAPTER 1/4]

It was similar to how she had consulted her sister about certain unspeakable postures and movements.

The door of the Supernatural Research Club opened. Ren had returned. Only a few minutes had passed since the others returned; the long break wasn't even over yet. He wasn't alone; following behind Ren were two petite women who, aside from their skin color, looked exactly alike. Both were dressed as Onmyoji.

"Are you two also Onmyoji?" Adashino Benio assumed both were Onmyoji. The usual way to visually identify a Basara was by a single black eye. Chinu's eyes, however, were both normal, so Adashino Benio didn't suspect Chinu's identity at first.

The white-skinned girl, hovering in the air, put her hands on her hips, her face full of pride. "I am an Onmyoji, Abe no Seimei."

The dark-skinned girl gave her a disdainful side-glance before stating, "I am a Basara, Chinu."

"Abe no Seimei? A Basara?" Adashino Benio blurted out. These two, who should have absolutely no connection, had appeared together. Besides, wasn't Lord Abe no Seimei long dead? Regardless, a Basara is an Impurity! Adashino Benio drew her twin swords and became vigilant.

"Hmm? Are you this generation's Taiyin?" Abe no Seimei sensed the Taiyin power within Adashino Benio. After her initial surprise, she sighed again. "However, with Magano and Impurity gone, the Twin Star Exorcists no longer have meaning."

"What do you mean Magano and Impurity are gone?" Adashino Benio frowned.

"It means that Magano, the King of Impurity, Basara, and Impurity have all been eliminated by this adult next to me," Abe no Seimei said, pointing at Ren. She was simultaneously filled with joy and sorrow. The thousand-year war between Onmyoji and Impurity had ended. But the world had changed again; how could someone as powerful as Ren appear?

"???" Adashino Benio looked disbelieving, her eyes fixed on Chinu. "Isn't she a Basara?"

Chinu smiled slightly. "I am merely my Master's servant."

"Little girl, don't get agitated. Chinu is now under my control, like a Shikigami," Ren said soothingly.

"!!!" Adashino Benio wondered if she had misheard. Turning a Basara into a Shikigami—is that possible? Whether she believed it or not, Yukino and the others did. With Magano gone, Yukino also breathed a sigh of relief; at least one threat was gone.

"Ren, this is Adashino Benio, an Onmyoji," Yukino introduced.

Ren nodded. "I know." He had already guessed the girl's identity.

"Adashino Benio, regarding Magano and Impurity, you can investigate yourselves. Go back, and deliver a message to the leader of the Onmyoji for me: come see me within a week, and tell them Abe no Seimei is with me."

"..."

"Go back, girl," Abe no Seimei added.

"I will inform them." Finally, after some deliberation, Adashino Benio retracted her twin swords and left by climbing out the window.

"Eh! She's not using the door?" Kitagawa Marin blinked her beautiful eyes, looking surprised.

"Perhaps that's just how Onmyoji are," Abe no Seimei gave a dry laugh. Why did this generation's Taiyin feel so silly and dull?

With the irrelevant people gone, it was Yui Yuigahama and Miura Yumiko's turn. All eyes focused on the two of them.

"Gulp!" The two nervously swallowed.

"Um, Ren Student, you won't do anything to us, right?" Yumiko held onto Yui's arm. Having experienced these supernatural events, her worldview was a bit chaotic. "No!" Ren had just finished speaking. Yui reacted like a startled wildcat, her eyes red as she urgently denied it. "I don't want to forget! I want to understand Ren-kun more!"

This sounded like a confession, and everyone's expressions became strange. Yukino shook her head secretly. As someone close to Yui, she had long noticed the issue with Yui's attitude towards Ren. Yui had already fallen, probably like her earlier self, just hadn't come to terms with it yet.

Yui's reaction was somewhat intense, driven by her unresolvable feelings for Ren. Ren was no longer an indecisive man. When it was time to act, he acted!

So, he stood up directly and walked in front of Yui, his gaze deep and gentle.

"Yui, do you remember my previous confession?"

Yui nodded hesitantly.
