Dragon Martial Sword Supreme
Chapter 56 - 56 A Punch to Kill
Venturing over thirty miles deep into Black Mountain, this region is basically the furthest area that outer sect disciples of the Primordial Martial Realm can reach. Within this area, one could often encounter demon beasts at the peak of the Primordial Martial Ninth Realm, or even those of the True Martial Realm.
Further ahead, beyond the forty-mile mark, the domain was essentially ruled by True Martial Realm Demon Beasts. Any individual from the Primordial Martial Realm who ventured there would almost certainly meet with certain death.
At twilight, the evening glow in the high sky tinted the vast and limitless forest within Black Mountain with a crimson hue.
Zhao Letian and a few others, after a long trek, also arrived within the region extending over thirty miles.
Throughout the journey, they encountered many demon beasts, far more than other Martial Artists. The reason was the blood of the Steel-Backed Pig Demon had attracted other demon beasts, which was precisely the effect Zhao Letian had desired.
The large number of demon beasts not only provided them with many Demon Cores but also offered Liu Wei and the Star Ocean Five Tigers excellent training opportunities.
However, even now, they had yet to encounter a demon beast worth Zhao Letian's own intervention. The strongest of them, a demon beast at the Peak of the Primordial Martial Ninth Realm, was also dispatched by the combined efforts of the Star Ocean Five Tigers.
At first, Zhao Letian had intended to bestow upon the Star Ocean Five Tigers some Cultivation Techniques and Martial Techniques from his ancestral memories. But after careful observation, he realized that these five fellows seemed to have had their own fortuitous encounters. The Cultivation Techniques and Martial Techniques they practiced were quite unique, especially when combined, their power increased exponentially, making them highly suited for their cultivation. Therefore, he discarded the idea.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
In the dense forest ahead, by a small river, the Star Ocean Five Tigers were engaged in a frantic assault on a massive green rhinoceros, delivering punch after punch onto its flesh. They were not using any Spiritual Artifacts, instead, they relied solely on their fists to clash head-on with the demon beast.
This green rhinoceros, known as the Green Rhinoceros Beast, was at the Peak of the Primordial Martial Ninth Realm. Its strength surpassed that of the same tier demon beast previously annihilated by the Star Ocean Five Tigers, particularly its defense and power, which were incredibly formidable.
The Star Ocean Five Tigers didn't opt out of using Spiritual Artifacts for lack of wanting; they simply couldn't fully unleash the power of their Spiritual Artifacts. They couldn't penetrate the defense of the Green Rhinoceros Beast and could only hope to pummel the demon beast to death with their fists.
However, after a lengthy fight, the Green Rhinoceros Beast seemed unscathed, while the five of them were sore all over.
"Roar!"
Suddenly, with an angry roar, the Green Rhinoceros Beast violently shook its head and sent Big Tiger flying far away. He grimaced in pain, feeling almost as if his bones were about to fall apart.
As Big Tiger was the main force, once he was sent flying, the other four hastily dodged away, looking rather embarrassed.
"Everyone back off. The power of the Cultivation Techniques you practice will only manifest in the True Martial Realm. Right now, you can't compete in strength with this Green Rhinoceros Beast. It's getting late, and we still need to catch Spiritual Beasts. Let me finish it off," seeing that the Star Ocean Five Tigers couldn't handle the Green Rhinoceros Beast, Zhao Letian finally stepped forward.
The Star Ocean Five Tigers quickly retreated to a safe distance, while Zhao Letian leaped forward with a swing of his fist toward the Green Rhinoceros Beast's head. Mid-leap, he deployed the Three Armor Power, his fist instantly covered in three layers of fine black Scale Armor, looking even more savage than a wild beast.
"Boom!"
"Wuu..."
Zhao Letian's punch, comparable to the full-force attack of a person in the True Martial First Realm, was more than the Green Rhinoceros Beast could withstand. It let out a mournful cry as its massive body was blasted away like a cannonball, slamming heavily into the riverbed's cobblestones.
"Pop!" The M|V|LE&MPYR team worked hard on this chapter.
Before the Green Rhinoceros Beast could struggle to its feet, Zhao Letian stepped on its head and lifted up his hand covered in Black Scale Armor, like the brutal claw of a wild beast, piercing into the Green Rhinoceros Beast's head. He extracted a blood-soaked Demon Core and then stored it in his storage ring.
"Master, you're impressive. If you had acted sooner, we would have harvested even more Demon Cores by now." Da Hu, along with his five brothers, came over with excited smiles on their faces. In addition to this Demon Core, Zhao Letian allowed them to keep all the ones they found along the way. Each had gotten quite a few, even Liu Wei scored a good number of Demon Cores.
"Our main purpose for coming to the mountains isn't the Demon Cores, but rather to seek opportunities for training and maybe capture a Spiritual Beast on the side." Zhao Letian shook his head indifferently. He was not short on Primordial Stones and could take or leave the Demon Cores.
"Although there are many demon beasts in these mountains, it's really not easy to find a satisfactory Spiritual Beast. So far, only sister Weiwei has caught a Spiritual Beast to her liking; the rest of us have gotten nothing." Da Hu said gloomily, and as he spoke, everyone's gaze turned to Liu Wei, who had a palm-sized Mini Stone Monkey lying on her shoulder.
That Stone Monkey was a Giant Stone Beast whose cultivation was at the same level as Liu Wei, both in the Primordial Martial Seventh Realm. Despite its small size, once it enters combat, it can instantly grow to over ten feet tall and become a formidable Giant Stone Ape. Liu Wei had finally subdued and claimed it after much difficulty.
Moreover, this Giant Stone Beast was not yet mature. Once it reached adulthood, its cultivation would automatically advance to the True Martial Realm, making the Star Sea Tigers quite envious. They too wished to tame a similar Spiritual Beast, but sadly, despite their search, they couldn't find a second Giant Stone Beast.
"No rush, there are still plenty of demon beasts in the mountains. If we can't find one today, we can continue our search tomorrow. Da Hu, throw away that Pig Demon, tonight let's eat the Green Rhinoceros Beast," Zhao Letian said with a head shake and a smile.
"Alright!" Da Hu nodded, first cleaning the Green Rhinoceros Beast by the riverside, and then he started a campfire and began roasting its enormous carcass whole.
Soon the scent of the meat filled the air. Zhao Letian and the others took Spiritual Artifacts and each sliced off a piece, wolfing it down with blissful expressions on their faces. The flesh of demon beasts was not only delicious but also highly nourishing for Martial Artists, aiding in improving cultivation. The higher the cultivation of the demon beast, the better the effect.
"Swish!"
They were in the midst of eating when a sharp piercing noise suddenly came. Everyone looked up to see a green demon beast with wings streaking across the sky at high speed.
"What's that?" Da Hu exclaimed in surprise. Judging by its aura, the demon beast was extremely powerful, likely having a higher cultivation than the Green Rhinoceros Beast, possibly at the peak of Primordial Martial Ninth Realm. However, its speed was too fast; neither he nor his brothers, nor Liu Wei, could get a clear view.
"It's a ninth-level peak Mantis. I'll chase it first, you guys follow later," Zhao Letian said with a flash of determination in his eyes. Only he saw clearly that it was a rare green mantis over a foot long, known for its incredible speed and potential for training as a Spiritual Beast.
"Swish!"
As he spoke, Zhao Letian leaped into the air, transforming into a swift white streak and chasing after it.
"Let's follow him!" Liu Wei and Da Hu exchanged glances and quickly followed suit.
