Chapter 415: The World Is So Big, You Have to Go and See It

Turning the Prinz Eugen entirely into a kindergarten was absolutely out of the question. Although, by ordinary human standards, Ethan should have become a father long ago, by demigod standards, he was still a kid—not even close to Thor's age.

Besides, Diana wasn't in a hurry to have a child. Her philosophy was to let things happen naturally. If they had one, great; if not, that was fine too. After all, neither of them had to worry about short lifespans or aging.

As time passed, their physical conditions would continue to improve, gradually approaching the peak limit of their current bodies. Only when they reached that point would they maybe consider worrying about children.

Right now? It didn't matter.

After a light workout, Ethan roughly sorted through the information about Mordred's situation.

All things considered, the Mordred in this world was very different from the Mordred of legend. Aside from her gender, the vastly different environment and upbringing had shaped a completely different personality. This Mordred gave Arthur even more of a headache than the one in the legends.

Her talent was exceptional, her strength outstanding, and she had plenty of reasons to be proud of herself.

More importantly, Arthur had acknowledged her from the start. Mordred was the kingdom's true eldest princess. Coupled with her strength, she had never suffered any hardship in her life and no one dared make her suffer any. Even a few powerful Knights of the Round Table would let it slide when Mordred acted out, out of respect for King Arthur.

"So she's just a brat?"

Diana summarized it perfectly. Ethan also felt that was exactly the case, except she was a little older—normally, she should have already grown out of being a brat and entered a full-blown chuunibyou phase.

"It doesn't matter. Since Arthur asked, helping out isn't a difficult task."

Closing his eyes, Ethan quickly entered a sleep state.

After reaching a certain level in spiritual training, he could quickly fall into deep sleep. His already strong recovery rate, combined with quality rest, allowed him to regain full energy in a short time. The rest of the time, he could just lie down and train his spiritual power or magic—or do nothing at all, enter light sleep, and pretend to be a normal person.

After getting up the next day, everyone had breakfast. Then, under Bedivere's guidance, they toured Arthur's palace.

This version of Camelot did not use the typical fortress-style castles of the era. Instead, Arthur had built a grand European-style palace complex in the center of the city as his royal residence.

The architectural style clearly referenced the future Palace of Versailles in France. The whole structure was elegant and majestic, radiating a noble aura. When Bedivere introduced it, he didn't hide the pride in his voice at all.

And rightly so. This magnificent palace symbolized the strength of the kingdom and represented King Arthur's achievements.

"It's hard to see everything in just one day. For the next while, court knights will be at your service. They'll accompany you during your tour of the palace and also remind you, our honored guests, which areas are off-limits."

This enormous palace complex was, after all, King Arthur's residence. Many sections were not open to outsiders unless Arthur personally led them there.

Bedivere believed Ethan might want to see everything, and while Arthur wouldn't refuse, he still felt it necessary to offer a polite reminder to avoid any future misunderstandings.

"Don't worry. I generally don't like wandering around. Just knowing the area around our lodgings is enough."

Some of them were quite curious and looked around frequently, but most weren't that familiar with Arthur and felt it inappropriate to intrude too much into someone else's home.

Bedivere nodded and informed Ethan that His Majesty would be busy with state affairs all morning. He might dine with a few ministers at noon and would have free time in the afternoon.

Before lunch, Ethan and the others could continue touring, go back and rest, or ask to be guided somewhere specific. Bedivere would accommodate or decline depending on the situation.

No one wanted to go back and rest. Their physical condition far surpassed that of ordinary people, so walking all day wouldn't tire them out. It was nothing to worry about.

As for free time, there wasn't anything else planned, so they might as well look around King Arthur's palace more. Even though the architectural style wasn't of this era, it was still beautiful—why overthink it?

At that moment, a short figure wearing a knight's robe and carrying a long sword at their waist hurried over from a distance.

Their destination was clearly Ethan.

Even though they were still far away, their appearance, almost identical to a young Arthur made it easy to guess their identity.

"Your Highness the Princess!"

Bedivere stepped forward and greeted her first. But that title made Ethan feel very awkward: Mordred being called "Your Highness the Princess"… this could only happen in this world, right?

"Sir Bedivere, I've told you many times, don't call me 'Your Highness the Princess.' I am at least a kingdom knight who sits at the Round Table. Can't you just call me Knight Mordred?"

Bedivere was also a Knight of the Round Table, and he served as Arthur's personal guard. Besides protecting the king, he also helped manage various affairs, making him Arthur's most trusted confidant.

Even though she was Arthur's biological daughter, Mordred generally didn't go head-to-head with Bedivere. Even when he occasionally scolded her for crossing the line, she wouldn't genuinely fall out with this personal guard knight, who had a rather handsome appearance.

"I remember His Majesty summoned you for a discussion this morning. Why did you suddenly run over here?"

Bedivere meant to remind her: As a Knight of the Round Table, you have important duties. Why are you running around instead of tending to your own affairs?

He didn't want this mischievous princess to butt heads with the king's guests. Based on her actions, she had clearly come looking for them.

Bedivere thought back to the conversation between the King and Ethan yesterday. The king must have told Mordred something she didn't like, so she came looking for trouble.

That wasn't something Bedivere could ignore. Since the king had tasked him with hosting these guests, he couldn't allow Mordred to clash with Ethan and the others. He had to intervene, even if she was the kingdom's eldest princess.

"I came to ask that guy named Ethan if he slandered my father!" Mordred turned her head slightly and looked up at Ethan. "You! Are you the guy who slandered my father?"

"I'm Ethan." Ethan nodded. He wasn't the type to deny his identity, but he definitely wouldn't accept an accusation that had nothing to do with him. "As for slander… what exactly are you referring to?"

"You!" Mordred gritted her teeth and glared at Ethan. She looked very much like Arthur when he was young, which reminded Ethan of the first time they met. But temperament-wise, she was completely different. Even if a young Arthur stood next to her with the same hairstyle, no one would mistake them for the same person. "Don't play dumb! Didn't you tell my father to send me off on some training journey?"

Ethan rolled his eyes. Clearly, your father asked me to take you out to train, and now you're accusing me of slandering him? Did Arthur push all the blame onto me in private?

"Your Highness the Princess, please don't speak nonsense. I was there when His Majesty and Sir Ethan discussed this matter. It was His Majesty who insisted that Sir Ethan take you out to train."

Bedivere was a true knight. He couldn't let a false accusation be made right in front of him.

However, his explanation was useless. Mordred firmly believed that her father wouldn't do such a thing.

...

Ethan nearly rolled his eyes to the back of his head. He had discovered that this brat wasn't just hot-headed and impulsive, but also had a serious "daddy complex"—her father could do no wrong. If her father did something she didn't like, then clearly some villain was manipulating things!

And Bedivere had a "king complex." His expression was just as bad as Mordred's. In his eyes, Mordred's behavior might also be seen as an insult to their beloved king. To protect King Arthur's honor, he even looked like he was ready to duel Mordred.

"Are there no normal people in the Knights of the Round Table?"

Ethan rubbed his brow in frustration, then stepped forward and stood between Bedivere and Mordred.

"Your father wants me to take you out to travel and broaden your horizons because the way you are now simply doesn't meet his expectations."

"That's impossible!" Mordred still refused to believe it. "And what can traveling even teach me? I've already been on four expeditions. I know perfectly well what the lands outside Camelot are like. I don't think this so-called travel is helpful at all!"

"Of course, not just traveling within Britannia."

Ethan understood Mordred's frustration. Born and raised in a highly civilized city far ahead of its time, she looked down on the barbaric surrounding regions and didn't think traveling outside would benefit her. In her view, this "journey" felt more like exile.

"Your father hopes you can 'open your eyes' and see just how vast the world really is."
