Druid Immortal Clan
Chapter 2: Acquiring Skills
Through sheer willpower, Li Pingcan resisted the drowsiness of newborn fatigue and checked the Druid class skill information.
With an uncertain future ahead, the initial skills were absolutely crucial—they would be his foundation for survival.
[Congratulations on successful reincarnation!]
[You have acquired the following Druid specialization skills.]

[LV0 Spore Growth (Zero-Circle Spell): You can accelerate spore growth within a 20-meter radius.]

[Specialization Four: Celestial]

...
"At least I won't starve even if abandoned as an infant!"
Seeing the Celestial skill Moonlight Glow, Li Pingcan finally relaxed.
These nature-based, modified Druid skills were perfect. Thankfully, he hadn't gambled on becoming a pure mage—he couldn't imagine how a baby knowing only "Small Fireball" would survive in the wild.
The Druid class eliminated such worries. Animal Affinity could greatly reduce hostility from animals, Thorn Whip provided minimal offensive capability, and Spore Growth... well, its use wasn't immediately obvious.
Of course, this was all extreme speculation based on the worst-case scenario of being abandoned by his family.
"Open status panel."

[Skill proficiency increases through usage.]
[Higher-tier skills can be obtained through comprehension of nature and class advancement.]
[Each successfully planted tree grants 1 EXP toward Druid level.]
[Direct blood relatives planting trees also contributes to your EXP.]
...
"So Druids really are just tree planters," Li Pingcan mused.
The most crucial point was that family members planting trees could also grant him experience.
"If that's the case, then generational growth and family expansion means more trees planted and faster leveling?"
"A Druid planting trees might just cultivate an immortal clan!"
He waved his tiny limbs excitedly, babbling incoherently. But soon, he grew quiet again.
The immediate predicament was all too real.
"Born in the wilderness with no milk... this is bad."
Could he even survive to adulthood, let alone marry and have children?
At least they weren't in a women's restroom—that would've been a true disaster start...
Unable to make sense of the situation, Li Pingcan felt a growing unease. "I just hope I won't be abandoned this time..."
Overcome by waves of exhaustion, hungry and tired beyond endurance, he activated Moonlight Glow under the bright moon, absorbing faint lunar energy before falling into a worried, weary sleep.
...
That night, the moon hung high.
In a wilderness cave...
The ancestral spiritual pill lived up to its reputation. Lady Qin quickly regained consciousness and could move freely, showing no signs of having just given birth.
Gazing at the moon-bathed infant, her beautiful face overflowed with tender affection.
"Our Can'er is so well-behaved. I hope he grows up safe and happy."
Li Rongzhou sat beside her, assuring firmly: "Don't worry, I'm here."
"You say that, but you used an entire spiritual pill on me!" Lady Qin shot him an exasperated look. "You should've saved some! Small doses would've been enough—what if we had leftovers?"
The miraculous pill cured all ailments instantly. Even preserving some powder would've been valuable—they still had three underage children at home.
"I panicked and forgot!" Li Rongzhou regretted. Having grown up with his wife and relying on each other through hardships, the sight of blood had overwhelmed his composure.
Though touched, Lady Qin's frugal habits made her chide him once before dropping the matter. Concerned about their delayed journey due to her pregnancy, she asked about the remaining distance to Peach Blossom Mountain in Lin'an County.
"According to ancestral maps, about two hundred li (100km) left," Li Rongzhou replied.
The Li family descended from a branch of the Peach Spring Li Clan. This connection, combined with their savings, would simplify household registration.
As for Qingyuan County—struck by both floods and drought in a single day—it might remain barren wasteland for centuries.
"That means at least ten more days." Lady Qin worried. "Our rations are running low—only five days' worth left!"
The sudden disaster had allowed no preparation time.
Li Rongzhou shared her concern. Refugees along the way had stripped the land bare—no bark or roots remained. The thought of desperate measures like child exchange for food never crossed his mind—he loved his family too deeply.
"If necessary, I'll hunt in the deep mountains. I won't let you or the children go hungry."
No better options existed.
Lady Qin nodded, then suddenly blushed, whispering: "Husband... I'm engorged."
"Let me help."
"The older kids are here!" She shot him a reproachful glance, eyes shimmering.
"So what? Those half-pints sleep like logs!"
Li Rongzhou laughed, wrapping his large hands around her.
"You brute! Gently! Mmm~"
Her soft scolding faded into faint murmurs echoing through the cave...
...
While Moonlight Glow provided energy, it was like a phone at 0% battery—barely sustaining minimal function.
Breastmilk proved naturally delicious. Enhanced by residual pill effects, it was exceptionally nutritious with a sweet fragrance. His mother's gentle caresses also dispelled abandonment fears, filling him with joyful babbling.
Now nourished and energized, Li Pingcan eagerly explored his Druid skills.
Moonlight Glow was understood, Thorn Whip couldn't be demonstrated (what could 20cm even do?), so he focused on testing surroundings.
"Wonder if there are animals nearby. Let's try!"
Mentally invoking "Animal Affinity," he felt energy drain from his body, causing discomfort. Waving tiny hands irritably, he suddenly sensed overwhelming "excitement."
[Name: Vulture]
[Mood: Ecstatic]
...
Meaning a vulture within 20 meters was eyeing his walking family members with ravenous delight?
That horrifying realization made Li Pingcan shudder. At least scavengers posed little threat to living humans.
Two more Animal Affinity casts revealed only vultures mentally "dancing on graves" with glee.
"No cute, fluffy animals at all?!"
After this complaint, his "MP" depleted completely. A huge yawn later, he drifted back to sleep.
Come nightfall, Li Pingcan awoke and applied Moonlight Glow—better than nothing for some "recharging."
This skill was quasi-passive with minimal MP cost, whereas Animal Affinity drained an infant's stamina in three uses. Now refreshed, he turned eagerly to Spore Growth.
Following mental instructions, invisible energy gathered around him. A breeze stirred dormant spores beneath the soil's surface, responding to nature's call with vigorous growth.
But Li Pingcan couldn't appreciate this—his body felt blood-drained by giant syringes. Starvation dizziness triggered instinctive wails.
"Waaah!"
"Mother! Little brother's hungry!"
Soon, warm hands lifted the sobbing infant.
Lady Qin hummed a lullaby: "Eat well, sleep tight, mother's milk sweeter than honey, baby laughs when tummy's full..."
