Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos
Chapter 248: Request
CHAPTER 248: REQUEST
"While walking inside my city I had noticed those cuts but failed to recognise the true danger. I assumed that whatever had happened was already over. Besides I was far too shocked by the sight of bisected corroded skeletons lying everywhere to think of anything else.
I understood that what had happened was instant and no one got a chance to even think of escaping it.
My sect was on a mountain near the city and when I went there similar skeletons were scattered everywhere. Some were less corroded than others due to their higher cultivation realm but that didn’t matter when all of them were dead. No one was spared. My lineage was over too.
With a heavy heart I made my way to the area where the elders lived and saw that they were dead too. Nothing was left. There were two skeletons of Tribulation Ascendance and one was at peak stage. It was bisected in half from the head. I knew it was the person whom I was looking for... sigh.
Afterwards I buried them and as I was about to return to the city I saw that a valley near the mountain was completely frozen which was out of the ordinary. When I arrived there I saw the Ice Phoenix feather lying in the middle of the valley. It was a little damaged but that didn’t affect its value.
I wasn’t much happy or sad finding a valuable treasure like this since the weight of sorrow was weighing on me. I just stored it inside and left but it seemed all my fortune had been used in surviving till now and finding this treasure.
I flew up and wanted to come to the sect one last time when a small spatial tear touched my left shoulder..." The spirit consciousness shook his head while lamenting.
"My left hand got separated instantly. I was shocked and confused then it hit me that those cuts in the city and on the skeletons were from spatial tears. I trembled on the spot. I understood that the central region wasn’t only affected by darkness but also spatial laws and not to mention these tears were more dangerous as they contained trapped darkness in them. It was too late though.
I could see that my wound was affected by darkness and I was about to die. The only saving grace was that it was a very small tear and the darkness it contained wasn’t too deadly to kill me on spot. I could survive for some time as long as I suppressed it.
Cutting more of my wound wouldn’t change anything as it had affected my whole body. So I just gave up. I decided to create an inheritance site.
I would have created it here but the spatial laws here were too skewed to create a stable dimension so I just picked the Whispering Mountain Range. The city had more spiritual value for me as my childhood was spent here since I wasn’t talented enough to live in the main clan.
So after retracing the path from which I had come I returned to the city. After taking the city I just prayed to the heavens that I didn’t cross any more spatial tears on the way or I would have died before doing anything.
I don’t know if the heavens heard me or not but all the tears only touched the city not me so I was able to reach this location... and here I am now." The spirit consciousness waved his hand and a skeleton with only the right arm appeared beside them.
"I didn’t have the courage to pick up my left arm. I left as hurriedly as I could... anyway that’s my story. As for the seed of Dreamveil Herb I got it in the world I was living. I found them in a similar inheritance site of a senior. My fortune let me find some unique things and there are many of those things in the ring I have given you. Alright that’s all I have to tell you. By the way can I ask you a favour?" The spirit consciousness looked towards Lin Feng intently.
Lin Feng who had listened to everything till now was surprised. "Senior there is no need to ask for a favour. You can put a demand and I will comply if it is within my capabilities." He had accepted the inheritance without any conditions which was quite rare so he didn’t mind doing something for him.
The spirit consciousness shook his head. "There is no need. You earned that. Now for my request if possible can you bury my remains on the mountain of my sect where I have buried my sectmates?"
Only Lin Feng could traverse the central region safely with his battle sense and the spirit consciousness had figured it out.
Lin Feng nodded. "I will."
"Good. There are two sect tokens inside my ring. One is blue while the other is black. Insert your spirit qi inside the blue one and it will show you the direction to reach there."
Lin Feng nodded in understanding. "What was your name senior?"
The spirit consciousness smiled. "Gou Tiancheng. Thank you for listening to me. Now go on. After fighting with you I don’t think I will last long. I will spend some time in solitude. It seems I have to end this dimension earlier than a month."
Lin Feng nodded and stood up. He bowed. "Then I will take my leave senior." He stored the remains inside his storage ring.
Gou Tiancheng nodded and waved his hand. He sent Lin Feng outside.
...
Lin Feng came out and saw that Bai Lian, Pei Lingxi and Lian Zhi were cultivating. They all opened their eyes and looked at him with amused expressions.
"It seems you had quite a good spar brother Feng..." Bai Lian looked at his torn robes and the still visible marks from his injuries.
Lin Feng glanced at his robe when he heard that. He should have changed before coming out... oh well at least his mask was intact.
He took out three grade 8 treasures: one yang pill, one fire sword and one talisman, plus a few grade 7 and grade 6 treasures. "I can only give you guys this."
