Chapter 228: Chapter 220: The People She Found Are Not as Good as Him
Bella Woods watched Ashton Marshall walk over, feeling quite guilty.
Ashton Marshall walked to Bella Woods’ side, bent down, and placed the spice box beside her. When he glanced at Bella Woods sideways, his gaze was deep.
“Forgot the paint box, a relative’s… kid?”
Bella’s heart skipped a beat.
Ashton stood up, glanced at those who were paying attention to him and Bella Woods, and said, “A relative’s kid goes to school here, so I’d appreciate it if everyone could take care of them.”
Ashton politely nodded, and everyone on the scene was stunned. Before anyone could react, Ashton strode away.
Bella sat in her seat, and the paintbrush in her hand fell to the ground.
It wasn’t until a neighboring classmate picked it up for her that Bella came back to her senses.
“Relative’s elder? Doesn’t seem that much older…” The classmate was clearly interested in Ashton: “Is he married? Does he have a girlfriend? Could you do me a favor and introduce us?”
“Don’t intro her, introduce me.”
“Bella Woods, I’ll buy you bubble tea. Just help me with an intro.”
“What’s bubble tea? Bella Woods, if you help me set up a meal with this relative, I’ll cover all your meals, snacks, and drinks this semester!”
Nearby classmates flocked over, all wanting Bella to give them a chance.
“He… he has a girlfriend.” Bella said dazedly.
Originally interested classmates immediately became disappointed and left Bella’s side.
And because of this incident in the morning, Bella was constantly on edge.
In the afternoon.
The activity room was the most crowded and also the quietest at that time.
The sunset light quietly shone through the window, and all the students were either mixing colors or using paintbrushes to draw dazzling colors on paper.
In this serene atmosphere, a loud ‘slap’ suddenly echoed, particularly abrupt within the activity room.
Like everyone else, Bella looked up towards the doorway and saw a girl storming towards her and giving her a slap.
It was very sudden.
So sudden that Bella didn’t react until a burning pain spread across her cheek.
“Who are you? What are you doing?” Bella stood up.
The surrounding classmates quickly gathered around.
The girl pointed at Bella: “Asking who I am? When you were seducing my boyfriend, did you ever think about who I am? You look pretty innocent, how could you be such a bitch!”
“What boyfriend?” Bella was baffled.
“I’ll tell you, if you seduce my boyfriend again, it won’t be as simple as a slap.”
After the warning, the girl kicked the bucket of paint water Bella used for cleaning brushes and left.
The water splashed all over the floor, and the surrounding classmates hurried to pick up things from the floor.
Bella came to her senses and wanted to chase after the girl to clear things up, but a classmate on the other side stopped her.
“Where do you think you’re going? Your bucket’s water spilled all over, and you think you can leave without cleaning up?”
“Exactly, my drawing paper, all ruined.”
“My backpack… and the colors I just mixed!”
“What the hell, being called out as a mistress and you still drag us into it!”
The complaints from the surrounding classmates were loud.
Bella didn’t understand but because of the bucket of water, she could only apologize to the classmates in the activity room and compensate them for the damage in the group chat.
“Bella.”
A rush of Calvin Marshall’s voice echoed from outside.
“Wait a sec.” Bella called out when she saw Calvin Marshall trying to rush in.
She roughly understood that Calvin must have heard the news and hurried over.
“Bella Woods!” Oliver Hughes’ voice followed.
He wanted to rush in but was blocked by Calvin.
“Why are you stopping me? Haven’t you seen the school’s forum…” Oliver was stopped by Calvin’s glare.
Bella quickly gathered her things and walked out, pulling along Calvin and Oliver.
Once they reached downstairs, Bella looked at Oliver in confusion: “What are you doing here?”
“What’s with your attitude? What am I doing here?” Oliver, irritated by Bella’s words, said, “If it weren’t for me getting the forum post deleted, you wouldn’t even know how big this could get!”
“What forum post?” Bella looked at Calvin.
She didn’t really trust Oliver now but felt Calvin and Oliver must be here for the same reason.
“On the school forum, someone posted saying you’re flirting with her boyfriend. There are chat logs, silhouette photos, and everything. Including that girl coming to the classroom to confront you, it’s all been posted.”
Bella tried to check her phone, but Oliver reminded her: “You won’t find it, I had it deleted immediately.”
“Bella Woods, are you going wild since we didn’t get engaged? Having Ashton isn’t enough; you’re playing around with others too?”
“Oliver Hughes, watch your mouth!” Calvin was displeased with Oliver’s words.
“What did I say wrong?” Oliver didn’t feel he was wrong.
“Could it be that Bella is being framed and she didn’t do it at all!”
“Didn’t do it, but there are chat logs, photos? Oliver countered: “I saw the chat logs, the profile picture is Bella, and the chatting style…”
He started checking Bella out: “Are you one way online and another offline? So open online, yet so conservative offline?”
Bella felt uncomfortable with Oliver’s comment.
As she opened her mouth, Calvin pulled Bella behind him.
“Oliver Hughes, get out of here.”
“No, I’m going to get that girl and her boyfriend here now. I want to see who Bella’s been hooking up with.”
“A rich illegitimate child, a poor schoolboy?”
Oliver mocked, having known the background of the girl accusing Bella of stealing her boyfriend, a poor schoolboy hustling various part-time jobs, what’s to cherish?
Ashton, poor boy, none of them could compare to him.
He just wanted Bella to see she missed out on the best, him!
“I don’t need you to handle this.” Bella stated clearly: “I will clear my own name myself; I’m leaving now.”
“Leaving? I’ve already called them to the upstairs classroom, come with me.”
Oliver reached out to grasp Bella.
