Either E Or S Class: I Will Kill All Vampires.
Chapter 29: Ch 29: Someone Else.
CHAPTER 29: CH 29: SOMEONE ELSE.
"You really thought that was enough to put me on the shelf, I thought you said you were strong."
And with that line came the next three weeks of intense training, after Selene’s arms were hurt she proceeded to use armoured L.U.X soldiers as practice.
It consisted of everything, from fighting five soldiers blindfolded to evolve his hearing,
To leaving him in the room with a fly and a dagger in hand with the sole purpose of nailing the fly to the wall— to evolve his sight.
But the only one that was particularly unique was when she injected him with a suppressant, that stopped all his abilities basically making him human.
Then he finally understood what a punch actually felt like without healing in seconds.
His spare time was spent with Claire in the cafeteria, discussing in length his powers and filling him in on the world’s happenings.
She told him that the world’s on fire and yet humans don’t fully realise it yet, some know about vampires and don’t care while others live their entire lives in fear.
That numerous treaties and agreements have been made with the Network to stop or curb them however none have lasted for very long.
And countless government officials are now vampires or even humans working for the Network.
And at the top of it all, stood the king of vampires themselves— Nikolai Munroe.
It was almost impossible to tell who was or wasn’t a vampire at this point, with the helioguard— the block that stops their reaction to UV rays and lets vampires under the sun.
Most vampire attacks or vampire related incidents are now downplayed by the government as animal attacks even the obvious ones.
It essentially meant two things, either the government was trying to keep things down the radar and under control while they handled it in secret themselves or the vampires were keeping dinner calm.
It was all too much as Levi tried his best to keep his anger at bay.
Selene finally told him about the gala and made it known to him that he was going to be attending.
And with that the plan could finally begin.
~Knock.Knock.Knock.~
Levi got off the bed, stood to his feet and opened the door.
Jace wasted no time sidestepping him and entering into the room, leaving Levi still at the door.
He walked straight up to the table and unrolled it across the table.
Levi closed the door and joined him at the table.
"Wow. That’s detailed."
He said as he shot up his brows, mouth hanging slightly open.
Jace paid him no heed.
His eyes fixed on the blueprints of the gala building he unfolded, analysing and memorising every minute detail.
He pointed at the diagram — particularly at the centre hall.
"This is where the Gala’s gonna happen. It starts at exactly 9 PM on the dot and that’s when the drinks roll out and the orchestra crew springs to life.
The building is one of the mansions that belong to the division’s top investor, Liam Alden— he’s a billionaire who started throwing all his money into the division after his wife was killed in what the police only let him know as ’Strange circumstances.’
But even a fortune can disappear when just the division’s light bill is in the hundreds of millions."
He turned to him, "Wait, is he one of the heads?"
"No, he’s not. He probably could be if he wanted to but that’s none of my business right now.
The mansion is within his ginormous estate— trimmed hedges, lawns like fields that span for miles yet only one mansion at the centre of it all...
Because it’s a front for the division’s archives, all of the division’s dirty secrets, clandestine involvement, morally shady sides and just outright evil details are meticulously stored there."
Levi nodded repeatedly, "How’d you even get this?"
"I have my ways. The main hall is large and wide enough to fit as many of us, L.U.X elites, who’d be dressed in monkey suits trying to convince rich old people that saving their lives and the world is worth their money.
Apart from the elites and the potential investors, the only other people that will be there are probably private security, at every corner of the place."
"Why don’t they just use L.U.X soldiers?"
Levi asked.
Jace dragged the loose strands of hair from his face with a hand.
"Because we’re soldiers not glorified bodyguards, our job description entails eliminating xenothreats not opening doors.
The party starts by 9, however, the real party starts around 10:30 to 11 PM, because rich people never show up on time.
They’ll span from every corner, every nook and cranny in the world, from the health to power to the weapons sector and our job is to convince them that we’re worth their money."
’Wow, he’s really pissed about the rich people.’
Jace continued.
"We and by that I mean me and you, go down to the basement probably around 12 AM, because Manhattan and Foster will be watching your every move like a hawk to ensure you don’t fuck things up.
But, Selene is known to get a little tipsy when the drinks are rolling out so that’ll be our chance."
Levi cut in, "But what if she doesn’t drink because I’m there?"
"If that happens they’re only one of two options we can go with, one I’d go alone but I know you’d already be against that. So we go with plan B, I make a distraction and you sneak past everyone into the basement."
Levi folded his arms, feeling confident in the plan, "Seems straightforward enough."
Jace raised his hands to his temple, rubbing them furiously.
"No, Kane it’s not. Even if and that’s a very big fucking if, you can make it to the basement there’s still supposed to be a guard there supposed to stop you—"
"Alright, then I’ll—"
Jace brought his finger to Levi’s face, stopping him.
"And even if you still get rid of the guard there’s a well positioned security camera that’s gonna be watching you. And if you do that then we still have to worry about the gene code scanner on the other side of that door."
Levi scratched the top of his head, feeling dumb.
"What are gene code scanners?"
Jace sighed.
"Fundamentally, high class vampires can shape shift into anyone and be so precise that biometric and facial scanners are a little obsolete.
But, gene code scanners literally need a drop of blood to open them and no vampire can alter their gene code.
So we need the blood of a higher up."
Levi took a step back, pacing the room nervously as Jace kept on studying the blueprints.
"We need someone else."
