Either E Or S Class: I Will Kill All Vampires.
Chapter 30: Ch 30: Hypothetical Question.
CHAPTER 30: CH 30: HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION.
Levi took a step back, pacing the room nervously as Jace kept on studying the blueprints.
"We need someone else."
As soon as those words left his lips and entered Jace’s ears, he whipped around instantly.
He stepped forward shortening the distance between them, and raised a furious finger at Levi.
"No Kane, the only reason why I’m helping you do this is so you won’t get caught and squeal that I was the one who told you in the first place.
They are a lot worse things than vampires and I personally think that this division is one of them, so absolutely not— we’re not involving anyone else in this shit."
He stood in Levi’s face for a second, letting his warning marinate before turning back to the blueprints.
’I’m gonna have to convince him to let Claire join somehow.’
Levi sighed, folding his arms around his chest.
"We don’t have a choice here, we need to get to those archives to see what’s going on, what exactly happened to my family and what other families were affected by this?"
"No, Levi it’s too danger—"
He was cut off by Levi.
"Why don’t you come see the person I want to tell first, before you come to any conclusions and after that then I guess we’ll do it on our own... Somehow."
Levi tried to convince him.
Jace wanted to argue but couldn’t, no matter how much he hated this idea it was the only way forward and so he agreed.
---
Before long they left the secluded room that is Levi’s and headed for the cafeteria.
Where a familiar blood crystal eyed beauty sat in her usual corner seat and watched everyone around her like a hawk.
They headed straight for her and without much further ado they sat down.
She said nothing.
Neither did Jace.
’Alright, guess I’m gonna have to start this.’
He thought before clearing his throat loudly.
They both turned to him.
"Good," he smirked, "Now that I have your attention."
He guided his arm to Claire, while keeping his eyes fixed on Jace, "Jace, this is Claire and"
He switched it up, "Claire, this is Jace—"
Before he could continue, Jace cut him off.
"Yeah, Kane we already know each other."
Levi’s eyes widened slightly, "Really, how?"
Claire answered, "I was the top recruit before you came in Kane and me and Korran here have been on a few missions together."
Jace weighed in.
"Just a few and I wasn’t up for babysitting so it ended after a few... After all I’m pretty sure she doesn’t even know what a B-Class is."
"Oh, you mean B as in bitch, pretty sure you have a lot of experience there now don’t you Korran?"
She said rhetorically.
’What did I get myself into?’
Levi contemplated as he dragged his hair back with his hand.
Jace immediately stood up, the foot of his side of the bench scraped the floor in a terrifying shriek.
"Wait."
Levi said as he grabbed his arm and pulled him down back into the seat.
He did.
Then Jace folded his arms tightly, locking eyes with Claire who looked like she couldn’t care less.
"Levi, we’re not telling her."
Levi rolled his eyes, ’people can be such children.’
But kept the thought to himself, instead saying, "How bout we go hypothetical?"
He turned to Claire.
"Claire we have a hypothetical question in a hypothetical situation for you."
She leaned in, slightly curious.
He continued.
"Let’s say we hypothetically wanted to enter the division’s archives at the gala and hypothetically have three problems.
For one, the hypothetical guard situated outside the door is not exactly going to let us.
Two, the hypothetical security cameras are perfectly placed outside the door.
There’s also a hypothetical gene scanner that’s still in the hypothetical archive room so hypothetical would need blood from a higher up.
But lastly the fact that all eyes would be on me and it’d be impossible to let me explore the building."
"..."
They all remained silent then—
Jace groaned loudly, dragging his palm over his face.
Claire bit her lower lip while her cheeks inflated from the pent up laughter she was shoving down.
But she couldn’t anymore as she burst into laughter.
"I— I think you forgot to add the last hypothetical."
Jace covered his face and his arms.
"We’re being serious here Claire, come on"
Levi said, not amused.
She tried to catch her breath after laughing so much, straightening her face, "I have the solutions already."
Levi’s eyes bulged out instantly.
Jace’s hands dropped from his face, swiftly.
"Bullshit... That’s not possible."
She rolled her eyes at him, then locked eyes with Levi in a cold stare.
"But I have a question, because I’m not retarded or exactly one to jump blind into an active volcano, so uhmm...
Could someone tell me exactly where you two are risking your possible decapitation and doing this?"
"Could you just give up the solutions?"
Levi asked sincerely.
She shrugged him off, "I’m fascinated by you Kane but I’m not starstruck nor am I mesmerised by your stupidity so if you cannot give me a reason then I can’t give up an answer."
With that line she pushed up from the bench, about to leave when—
"Wait!"
Levi yelled.
She paused and glanced over at him.
Jace and Levi turned to each other, arguing with their eyes whether to or not to tell her but eventually Levi won, evident only by Jace’s sigh.
Levi tilted his hand downward for her to sit down. She did.
"..."
He told her everything they had found out about the organisation till this point.
At some point in this, Claire’s jaw hung low and remained there.
Before she noticed they were done and she shook her head furiously.
"There’s no way in hell. Are you two absolutely sure about what you’re telling me?"
They both nodded.
Jace cut through her thoughts.
"So are you gonna help us or not?"
She drummed her fingers continuously against the table before speaking.
"For the guard, most security teams have routine switch where guards change positions, judging on the building and where the next guard is situated i can find you a timeframe for entry.
For the camera, no matter how advanced their system is as long as I’m close enough to the mainframe room, I can insert a ten to fifteen second loop that even God won’t be able to tell from the original.
Lastly for the tricky part, gene scanners are complicated panels and there’s no way to do it without blood...
However, I do have something I’ve been working on that could help us in that perspective.
But these all depend on one thing, you’ll have to get me into that gala with you."
