CHAPTER 199: THE 204 ONE-EYED BIG YELLOW
"Uh, it’s okay." She said, not sure why, but she felt his attitude today seemed a bit cold and distant.
Or maybe it was always like this before; it’s just that there wasn’t that big yellow dog for comparison. Now, seeing him naturally affectionate with that big yellow dog, Mabel Quinn realized that this person’s face could also reveal such a naturally gentle expression.
Such a man, if his acting skills are good, even if he’s just a minor character now, he will definitely make it big one day, Mabel thought as she stood up from the ground.
But as soon as she stood up, a stabbing pain came from her ankle, making her gasp.
"What’s wrong? Did the big yellow dog hurt you?" He looked up at her and asked.
"No, no, it’s not the dog’s... uh, yellow’s fault, I sprained my ankle a few days ago." She quickly said, "But I didn’t expect to see you here, it’s quite a coincidence. Aren’t you supposed to be with the crew?"
"Hasn’t the crew started shooting recently? You..." She suddenly paused, realizing that it must be because his scenes haven’t started yet, so he doesn’t need to be with the crew and thus has plenty of free time.
So, Mabel comforted, "It’s okay, many famous actors started with minor roles. One day, you’ll definitely be the leading man."
He smiled slightly without saying a word.
"But what are you doing here? This should be where that Crown Prince of the Harris family lives. Are you close with him?" She asked.
"Kind of." He replied, "You’re here to deliver script materials today?"
"Yeah." She responded.
He extended a hand towards her, "Just give it to me."
She felt relieved, "That’s great. I thought I’d have to give it to the Crown Prince personally."
He raised an eyebrow, "What, you don’t want to see him?"
"I’ve heard his temperament is a bit peculiar. I’m afraid if I meet him, I’ll say something wrong, and that would be bad." Meeting someone important is always stressful, so it’s better not to meet at all.
"Peculiar temperament?"
"Like someone who seems calm and composed on the surface, but might stab you in the back." She recalled how earlier Lilith had described the Crown Prince during their conversation.
But after she said this, she noticed the man’s expression was a bit strange, and then she remembered that he seemed to be quite close with the Crown Prince. She immediately tried to remedy it, "I only saw that said online by accident, don’t take it to heart... and please keep it secret, don’t tell the Crown Prince."
If the Crown Prince found out, she might be kicked out of Morningstar immediately.
"I won’t say anything," Daniel Harris replied. This was the first time someone said this in front of him, "But do you really think the Crown Prince you mentioned would be such a person?"
Mabel Quinn shook her head and said, "I don’t know, the internet is full of truths and lies. I’ve never met the Crown Prince, so I can’t judge. What I said earlier was merely some comments I saw online. But someone of his stature, meeting him would indeed be stressful."
"Then meeting me, there’s no pressure?" Daniel Harris asked in return.
"We’re just ordinary people, so what’s there to be pressured about," Mabel Quinn said, "Besides, we’ve met several times already."
He casually sat down on a nearby bench, opened the materials Mabel Quinn brought over, and that big yellow dog continued to stand by his side, with its eyes fixed on Mabel Quinn like a rural guard dog staring at strangers.
For a moment, Mabel Quinn and the dog found themselves in a mutual staring contest.
But as she stared, Mabel Quinn noticed that one of the dog’s eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of mist, distinctly different from the other eye.
