CHAPTER 308: CHAPTER 319: DO NOT INTERVENE
She was speechless, as if she were some sort of cholera agent.
At this moment, Alice Conley waved her hand at Dorian Howards, saying, "Alright, from now on, we’ll go our separate ways, goodbye." Goodbye, of course, means never seeing each other again.
Dorian Howards frowned, almost instinctively grabbing Alice Conley’s farewell-waving hand.
Alice Conley tried to pull back her hand, but failed, then tried again, still couldn’t get it back. After thinking for a moment, she cleared her throat and said, "You don’t need to see me off, I’ll just take a cab back myself." She even put on a considerate and thoughtful look.
Dorian Howards frowned even more. This girl, she looked completely overjoyed and eager to leave, did she take him for some kind of beast?
"I never said I was seeing you off." He said coldly.
"Then let go of my hand, it’s not good if people get the wrong idea." She hastily said.
He sneered, "Misunderstanding, Alice Conley, don’t forget, you used to hold my hand tightly all the time back then, were you not afraid of misunderstandings then?"
Her face turned red, "Hey, that was how many years ago, why bring it up now? We were young and reckless back then, anyway, I promise I won’t do such things anymore."
She almost raised her hand to swear.
But his mood got even worse.
This girl was born to make him understand the meaning of an even worse mood. "It wasn’t that many years, it was just three years."
"Well... back then, I had just started college, and now I’ve graduated, considered a member of society, of course, it’s different from the student days." She said, struggling to pull her hand out. But no matter how hard she tried, he held on tightly, and she couldn’t get it out.
So Alice Conley simply gave up. Trying harder would only make her hand hurt more. It was better to rest and save her strength.
The two of them stared at each other.
After a long while, he sighed as if a little deflated, "Do you really want to sever all ties with me?"
"I’ve always thought exes clinging on is a really low-class thing to do, and it’s unfair to their future partners." She said.
Dorian Howards suddenly sneered, "You’re thinking quite far ahead, you plan on having someone else in the future?"
Uh? What did he mean by that?
But before Alice Conley could think it through, the Howards’ driver had driven up, and Dorian Howards directly stuffed Alice Conley into the back seat, instructing the driver to take Alice Conley back to the Conley Family.
"No need, I can just take a cab back." She said hurriedly.
"If you’re really eager to sever ties with me, then just don’t appear in front of me next time." Dorian Howards said coldly, shutting the car door.
The driver drove Alice Conley away, and Dorian Howards stood still, watching the car gradually disappear. If they meet again, then it must be fate.
Of course, that kind of fate is not unchangeable.
As Dorian Howards turned around, he saw his cousin Francine Howards standing not far behind him.
Francine Howards walked up, "That woman, is she the girlfriend you broke up with three years ago?"
"Just pretend you didn’t see this, don’t get involved, alright?" Dorian Howards said, but there was a hint of warning in his tone.
"Even if I don’t interfere, someone else will in the future. There’s plenty of women like her in Falling City." Francine Howards said disdainfully.
