CHAPTER 383: CHAPTER 396 WHERE THERE IS EXPLOITATION
"Address." He said blandly.
"Huh?" She blinked, not quite comprehending, but her expression was adorably innocent and harmless.
Seeing this cute and silly look of hers, and then thinking about how she was at the police station, almost ready to tear Grace Yowell apart, Dorian Howards found it a bit hard to link the two images together.
"Your home address," Dorian said.
Alice Conley pondered for a moment, suspecting that Mr. Howards was determined to drive her home tonight, unless she planned to jump out of the car in protest. Otherwise, it would be simpler to just give him her address to save both sides the trouble.
Alice Conley reported her residential area’s address, then suddenly thinking of something, asked, "Do you think those reporters took a picture of my face when we left the police station?" At the time, she had her head wrapped up tight, thinking even her parents might not recognize her, but she couldn’t help but ask anyway.
"Even if they did, so what?" Dorian replied nonchalantly.
Alice slapped her forehead. "Don’t say it so lightly. You’re still the head of the Howards Family, you know. If those reporters caught me leaving the police station with you and dug up our past relationship from three years ago, I would be doomed!"
"Doomed?" He frowned. Her tone implied that being linked to him was some sort of world-ending disaster. "How doomed?"
"Of course, very doomed. I don’t want to entertain the online crowd. Besides, you have so many women admiring you. If each of them spits on me, I could drown in it..." She suddenly brightened up at the thought, "By the way, since you instructed your subordinates just now to inform the media not to publish any news about Mabel and Grace’s dispute tomorrow, if the reporters really got a picture of me, can you get them to pull that news down too?"
As he drove up to the intersection, looking at the red light ahead, he slammed on the brakes abruptly, stopping the car, then turned and sneered at her, "What, after using me, you’re in a hurry to cut ties with me?"
She blushed instantly, "When did I use you?"
"Didn’t you?" He leaned slightly towards her, "So who was it that called me today? And who was so eager for me to come to the police station? Yet now, it seems like I’m some secret you’re ashamed of, so afraid those reporters would catch you with me in a photo?"
Alice was taken aback, it seemed... uh, she was at fault a bit. Biting her lip, she said, "I was really anxious today... Mabel was making a statement, and I overheard some police officers talking about possibly being charged with intentional injury, I got so scared, so... I called you..."
At that time, she was unsettled, with Grace Yowell framing Mabel, the only thing she could think of was to reach out to him. Perhaps subconsciously, she felt he was powerful and could solve any problem.
Seeing her like that, Dorian Howards felt like he was forcing someone innocent, like a bully.
With a sigh, he ruffled her hair, "Alright, you did the right thing today. If you run into trouble in the future, just remember to call me!"
The red light turned green, and Dorian continued driving.
