Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 535 - 553-554 Mabel
CHAPTER 535: CHAPTER 553-554 MABEL
It seems that unconsciously, he has become almost omnipotent in her heart, as if no matter what difficulties are encountered, he would always be her most solid reliance.
In the evening, Mabel Quinn mentioned the matter of the household registration book to Kyle Kinston. Kyle, as if it was no big deal, said, "It’s just a small matter."
"What small matter? The marriage law now stipulates that to receive a marriage certificate, you must have the household registration book." Mabel said earnestly. She was genuinely worried about this.
"Actually, it’s not troublesome. You just need to list your household separately and make a new registration book." Kyle said.
Mabel finally breathed a sigh of relief.
At work, Alice Conley asked, "By the way, did you ask Kyle Kinston about the registration book issue yesterday? Did he say how to solve it?" Alice asked, and upon knowing that Kyle even mentioned changing the law, she shouted out, praising Elder Kinston’s might, leaving Mabel speechless.
In the afternoon, Brother Kwan had some screenwriters attend a meeting. The Studio received a project to adapt a writer’s novel into a film. The Studio was responsible for turning the novel into a screenplay, especially since the novel has many parts that are difficult to portray after adaptation, requiring many changes. Brother Kwan distributed copies of the novel to each person and asked everyone to list their proposed changes for significant plot points on the main storyline.
After leaving the meeting room, Alice sidled up to Mabel with the novel, saying, "I searched online for this novel just now. It’s not popular at all. I don’t know what the production funder is thinking, wanting to make a TV series out of such an unpopular novel."
"Maybe the content is good. Some obscure novels might turn out well on screen," Mabel said.
"True, the content might be surprisingly pleasant." Alice said.
After work, Mabel quickly packed her bag. Alice asked, "What’s up, got an emergency?"
"Yeah, I still have to go to the supermarket to buy ingredients for dinner. I promised to personally cook a few dishes for Kyle today." Mabel said.
How sweet, Alice marveled. This is the sweetness you enjoy with someone you love? Even just going home to cook gives off a sweet feeling.
And for her? Would she ever have someone to spend her life with like this? The image of Dorian Howards flashed through Alice’s mind.
She then shook her head vigorously, oh lord, what was she thinking?
As they went downstairs together, Alice saw the black sedan that usually came to pick up Mabel had already parked not far away. But before Mabel could get into the car, another sedan swiftly pulled up in front of her, blocking her path.
Immediately, a middle-aged woman got out of the car, her face full of anxiety. Alice instantly recognized the woman as Daniel Harris’s mother, the current matriarch of the Harris Family, having seen her in newspapers and magazines.
It seemed odd to Alice that Daniel’s mother was clearly here for Mabel. Standing too far away, she could only see them talking, with Daniel’s mother appearing to be speaking urgently, while Mabel said something back, leading Daniel’s mother to nod repeatedly. Then Mabel took out her phone as if to make a call, but she was quickly pulled into the car by Daniel’s mother, and the car sped away.
Watching this scene, Alice was stunned, as was the driver who had been waiting in the black sedan for Mabel. He quickly got out of the car, intending to stop them, but failed and therefore hurried back into the car to chase the Harris’s vehicle.
It took Alice a good while to gather herself. What was this... It wasn’t exactly a kidnapping, though Daniel’s mother had indeed pulled Mabel into the car, but Mabel didn’t resist or struggle much.
And between Daniel’s mother and Mabel, the only connection would obviously be Daniel Harris, right?
Could it be that something happened to Daniel Harris?
Alice speculated in her mind.
Meanwhile, in the car, Mabel looked at Mrs. Harris, who was now worried beyond measure, and she somewhat understood Mrs. Harris’s feelings at that moment.
Daniel Harris was missing, a blind man who suddenly vanished from Harris Park. Upon checking the surveillance, it was discovered that Daniel had left of his own accord, and the car he took was driven by a driver from the park.
But no matter how Mrs. Harris tried calling Daniel and that driver, both their phones were turned off. Later, Mrs. Harris learned from the housekeeper that just before Daniel left, two servants happened to discuss the online news about Kyle Kinston and Mabel’s rumored upcoming marriage.
Mrs. Harris initially speculated that her son might have gone to find Mabel, so she hurried to Mabel’s workplace. Only to discover that Daniel had never come.
Then, inadvertently, Mabel mentioned, "Could he have gone to Drumbeat Village?" which startled Mrs. Harris into the realization it was highly possible. These days, Daniel had been muttering about how wonderful it would be to return to the past, making a visit to Drumbeat Village very plausible.
