CHAPTER 538: CHAPTER 557: WORRY

"Well... you’ve treated me to dinner several times already, so it’s only right for me to return the favor once in a while," Alice Conley said. Although most of those times, it was under forced circumstances.

"Just a dinner payback? Nothing else?" Dorian Howards replied, "Alright, but don’t bring up any other matters. Just dinner. If we talk, it’ll be about us."

Alice Conley immediately clammed up, looking extremely uncomfortable.

Seeing her like this, Dorian Howards couldn’t help but feel an urge to laugh. This girl always managed to entertain him, "Alright, if there’s something you need from me, just say it. I’m listening."

Alice Conley finally sighed in relief, "I just wanted to find out if Daniel Harris has run into any trouble in the past few days."

Dorian Howards shot a sideways glance at Alice Conley, "Why are you suddenly asking about Daniel Harris?"

"It’s because of his mother. Today, when Mabel Quinn and I were leaving work, that woman spoke to Mabel for a bit and then pulled her into a car," Alice Conley explained. "I later called Mabel, and she said it was nothing, just going somewhere with the other person. So I was wondering if something happened to Daniel Harris again."

Although Daniel Harris had saved her best friend, for which Alice Conley was grateful, she was worried this connection might affect her friend’s current relationship.

When Dorian Howards heard this, his expression immediately changed, "What did you say? Mabel Quinn is going somewhere with someone, so she’s not going back to the Kinston Mansion?"

"Uh... from what I heard on the phone, it seemed like they had to drive quite a distance to get there, so even if they’re coming back, it would be very late," she said.

Dorian Howards pressed his lips together and looked up at the sky. Although there was no moon yet... today was a full moon!

If Mabel Quinn wasn’t at the Kinston Mansion tonight, wouldn’t Kyle Kinston have to spend the night alone?!

Damn, how did things turn out like this? He thought Kyle had found his lifeline and could finally be free from the pain of the Blood Curse!

"Dorian, what’s wrong with you? Why does your face look so awful? Don’t scare me," Alice Conley said, feeling frightened by his serious expression.

Dorian Howards took a deep breath, trying to calm his face so as not to frighten her, "You enjoy your meal. I have something to handle, need to make a phone call."

With that, he quickly left the restaurant, heading to a secluded spot.

Dorian Howards dialed Kyle Kinston’s phone, and after a while, it finally connected. "I’m driving, let’s talk tomorrow," Kyle Kinston’s voice came through the phone.

"Driving? You’re driving now? Damn it, don’t you know that soon you’ll..." Dorian Howards tossed aside his usual composure and cursed outright.

"I know, that’s why I’m going to find Mabel. That’s it." With Kyle Kinston’s words, the call abruptly ended.

Dorian Howards patted his forehead, feeling like he was destined to worry about others. Continuing like this, he’d probably have plenty of gray hair before he even hit forty.

Dorian Howards called Caleb, and combining Caleb’s words with what Alice Conley had said earlier, he managed to piece together the sequence of events.

And he also understood that Kyle Kinston was heading to Drumbeat Village.
