CHAPTER 545: CHAPTER 564: INSIST ON FINDING PEOPLE

"Kyle’s gone up the mountain to find Mabel!" Mrs. Harris replied.

Dorian Howards’ expression changed dramatically upon hearing this. "What, he went up the mountain? How could he go up there?!"

Alice Conley said, "Kyle must be worried that Mabel might be in some danger on the mountain, so he rushed up there to find her. You don’t have to worry too much, Kyle is a strong man, and he has been in the military, even going up the mountain at night shouldn’t be too difficult for him, right?" But Mabel, with her physique and not-so-great athletic skills, made Alice quite worried.

"He absolutely cannot go up the mountain now. If he goes, he will..." Dorian’s sentence was left unfinished.

"Will what?" Alice blinked, asking.

"Nothing." Dorian took out his phone and dialed Kyle Kinston’s number once more, but no matter how many times he called, no one answered.

Dorian looked up at the sky. The moon hung in the heavens, round enough to instill fear.

If Kyle really went up the mountain, by now the pain might have already set in. In his condition, staying on the mountain might be even more dangerous than if Daniel Harris, who’s blind, were up there!

Dorian turned and asked Mrs. Harris for a set of tools to go up the mountain. Before they came, Mrs. Harris had also bought some flashlights and ropes from the village shop to distribute to those villagers who didn’t bring tools.

Taking the tools, Dorian said to Alice, "Stay here; I’m going up the mountain to find Kyle and Mabel."

"Then I’ll go with you." Alice responded immediately.

"You’d only get in the way if you came along. Be good, stay here!" he said.

She glared at him, then directly asked Mrs. Harris for a set of tools, and said to Dorian, "You’re worried about your friend, and I’m worried about mine. If you don’t take me with you up the mountain, then I’ll just go up by myself."

Her attitude left him with no option but to take her along.

After considering, Dorian said to Alice, "Then stay close to me at all times and don’t wander off."

"Okay." Alice replied, now just wanting to find Mabel as soon as possible.

At night, the mountain’s temperature was much lower than during the day, so cold it made people shiver.

Even wearing a coat, she still felt cold, let alone that Daniel Harris wore much less than she did.

Earlier, she tried to pull Daniel, but instead, his weight dragged them both down a steep slope. Daniel wasn’t much hurt, but she sprained her ankle and could barely walk. Worse yet, when she fell, she tried to call Mrs. Harris to explain the situation, only to find her phone was missing, and Daniel didn’t have a phone on him either.

Now, Mabel Quinn was almost limping as she guided Daniel Harris forward. Every step was painful for her, but even more worrying was the dizzying sensation in her head. Even though she shook her head several times, trying hard to stay clear-headed, the dizziness only intensified.

Touching her forehead, Mabel felt the obvious heat. She must have a fever. Usually healthy, how could she start a fever just after being on the mountain for a short while?

"How’s your ankle?" Daniel asked.
