Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 565 - 586: Going to Court
CHAPTER 565: CHAPTER 586: GOING TO COURT
"Is being a screenwriter very interesting?" Kyle Kinston asked. Each time he saw her diligently organizing scripts or earnestly reading books related to them, she was so completely absorbed that it inevitably captivated him.
Sometimes, he even found himself envious and jealous of her work, which allowed her to be so fully immersed.
"Yes, it’s interesting. For example, watching your own writings being performed by real people and then presented to the public—it gives a strong sense of achievement," Mabel Quinn said. "So, to me, being a screenwriter is a career worth dedicating my life to."
Her tone was so earnest that it left him deeply impressed.
After a long while, he murmured, "If I had known sooner that I would meet a screenwriter like you, I would have become a director, or a novelist, or maybe an actor... That way, our work would intersect in some way."
Mabel paused for a moment, then put down the novel she was holding and hugged Kyle, "But I think I like the present you the most."
"Why?" he asked.
Why? She thought for a moment and then said, "Because when I first saw you appear in front of me, I could never get you out of my mind. Although our work doesn’t intersect, I find you incredibly charming when you’re working. You’re using your skills and talents to protect your business empire, your territory."
"But the person I most want to protect is you," Kyle whispered, lowering his head to kiss her forehead.
She smiled sweetly.
He then asked, "By the way, are you really going to attend the trial the day after tomorrow?"
Mabel Quinn, being one of the victims and a key witness in the case, needed to appear in court. However, if she really wanted to avoid appearing, it wasn’t impossible.
Kyle naturally had many ways to submit Mabel’s testimony or arrange for her to testify from a separate room instead of going directly to the courtroom.
But Mabel said, "Yes, attending is my responsibility to myself. If I don’t attend or deliberately avoid it, it would seem like I’m feeling guilty. Moreover, I want to see with my own eyes who harmed me."
Regarding Josh Harris, Mabel had only seen his profile and photos in the news and had never met him in person.
"Alright, I’ll accompany you tomorrow," Kyle said, a shadow passing through his dark eyes. Besides Mabel, another key witness for tomorrow was Daniel Harris!
Early the next morning, Mabel, escorted by Kyle, arrived at the court. Outside the court, there were already many reporters, as the explosion case had caused a sensation in the city. Because it involved the Harris Family and a former popular actress, these elements were enough to catch people’s attention.
Fortunately, Kyle protected Mabel very well, entering directly through the side door of the court and waiting in a separate room.
Inside the room, there were several LCD screens displaying views from various angles of the courtroom, designed to provide a clearer picture of the trial proceedings.
Mabel sat in a chair, watching the bailiff bring a man and a woman to the court. The woman was Grace Yowell, and the man was Josh Harris. Mabel had seen plenty of pictures of Josh Harris, so recognizing him wasn’t difficult.
