CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58 GUESS

Mabel Quinn’s face changed, and she quickly picked up her phone, biting her lip and letting out a "Hello."

"You’re not still at that restaurant?" Kyle Kinston’s voice came through the phone, leaving Mabel even more at a loss.

Kyle was actually listening on the other end of the phone, so he must have heard the earlier disturbance.

"Um, my classmate and I left, and we’re planning to find another place," Mabel replied somewhat hesitantly.

"After you’ve finished eating, I’ll send someone to pick you up," Kyle said.

"No need, I’ll just take the bus myself," she hurriedly replied.

After a moment of consideration, he said, "Mabel Quinn, this time you didn’t hang up on me, very good."

Even after the call ended and the phone gave the "beep beep" tone, Mabel was still in a slight daze, unable to collect herself.

After finding a new restaurant, Katie apologized with a face full of guilt, "Mabel, I’m really sorry about earlier, if it wasn’t because of my issue, we wouldn’t have been treated like that by Lyra Grant and that manager in the restaurant."

"It’s not your fault. Even without your issue, if Lyra Grant saw me, she would probably come over and say something," Mabel said, understanding Lyra Grant’s character. She would probably feel uncomfortable if she didn’t step on her a few times.

"But that manager was so strange; how did his attitude make a complete 180-degree turn?" Katie said confusingly.

Mabel had a new guess in her heart. Since Kyle Kinston was listening on the other end of the phone to their conversation, it’s very possible that the change in the manager’s attitude was due to Kyle Kinston.

The two finished their dinner, and Katie spoke about some of her life’s discontent, mostly concerning her boyfriend.

"Actually, I know, like Soren said, there aren’t many people in J City who can help me with this favor. I came to you today... Ah, you can’t help me, it’s not a big deal, it’s just that I saw a bodyguard beside you that day, and I suddenly had a moment of brain heat, just thinking that I might as well try," Katie said, and her eyes reddened.

"Mabel, I really don’t want my boyfriend to be ruined like this. I know he just wants to make a name for himself too much, to make money quickly, so we can have a good life in the future. He didn’t really want to offend that Kyle Kinston."

Mabel said seriously, "Katie, I don’t know if I can help you, but I will try my best to give it a shot."

Katie gave a bitter smile, "Mabel, thank you." Although she knew there wasn’t much hope for this matter, and Mabel was just comforting her, she cherished this sentiment from an old classmate.

When Mabel returned to Kyle’s mansion, she saw Kyle Kinston sitting on the sofa in the living room, watching a military news program.

Kyle waved at Mabel, so she obediently stood in front of him.

"Did you get upset outside today?" he asked.

She was slightly stunned, then realized what he was referring to, "Was it you who made that manager apologize to me?" she asked.

"You happened to mention the restaurant’s name on the phone, so I had Caleb check it out and had him call the restaurant owner," Kyle explained lightly.

It was indeed because of his involvement, Mabel’s suspicion was confirmed.
