CHAPTER 584: CHAPTER 608: BARGAINING EXPERT

After getting in the car, Alice Conley asked curiously, "What were you talking about with the security guard?"

"Just told him if he sees any other man dropping you home, he should remind me," Dorian Howards said.

Alice almost hit her forehead against the window beside her. Seriously, is he planting a live spy in her life?

"You think just by chatting for a bit, the security guard would actually keep an eye out for you?" she asked.

"It wasn’t just chatting. I’ve already slipped him several packs of Chinese cigarettes."

"..." Bribery too! Alice felt a bit defeated.

"Is your butt feeling better? Did you apply the ointment?" Dorian showed concern for Alice’s injury.

Alice blushed slightly and mumbled, "Yes, I did."

"How did you apply it?" he asked in detail.

She blushed even more. Was she supposed to tell him she applied it by looking in a mirror and performing a high-difficulty maneuver? "None of your business, I applied it, that’s what matters."

After saying this, she gnashed her teeth, "Dorian, if you dare hit me again, I’ll really fight you!"

The way she was puffing her cheeks and gnashing her teeth at him seemed utterly adorable to him.

"Alright, I know," he said. "What kind of New Year’s gifts do you want to prepare for your studio? Fruits? Or vacuum-packed chicken, duck, and fish? Or maybe crabs?"

Alice thought for a moment, "Better to start with the fruit market. For New Year’s gifts, usually, fruits are included, right?"

Dorian turned the steering wheel and headed towards the fruit market.

As the New Year approached, the fruit market was quite crowded, and naturally, there was a wide variety of fruits available. Although it was Alice’s first time at the fruit market, haggling was no big deal for her. Despite knowing Dorian had plenty of money and didn’t care about a few bucks, every time she bought something, she compared prices and haggled fiercely.

Watching this little woman like a fighter jet, Dorian found it amusing. "Sometimes even if you haggle for ages, you might not get the price you want. Is it really necessary to cut down a few bucks?"

"Having money doesn’t mean you can waste it. Besides, your money doesn’t just fall from the sky. If we can haggle, we should haggle! Don’t want to be a sucker." Alice said.

"So, you’re worried about me?" he asked.

"I’m worried about your money," she replied.

"Is there any difference between worrying about me and my money?" he asked.

She was momentarily stumped, not knowing how to respond.

"Alright, let’s keep going, my bargaining expert!" Dorian ruffled Alice’s hair affectionately, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Alice felt as if his touch sent a warm rush straight to her head.

Finally, they decided to have a box of apples, a box of tangerines, and a 3kg box of cherries delivered to the studio. Dorian signed the contract with the fruit market’s owner, paid the deposit, and arranged for the delivery at a specified time, with the remaining payment due upon delivery.

Besides the studio supplies, Dorian also bought a lot of foreign fruits, packing them into two boxes. These foreign fruits were quite expensive, making Alice only drool over them.

She thought those fruits were for Dorian himself, but to her surprise, Dorian drove to the building of her residential complex and then lifted the two boxes of fruits to carry them upstairs.
