Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson
Chapter 110: Outburst
CHAPTER 110: OUTBURST
The loud crash caused everyone in the banquet to snap out of their pleasures and joys.
Some pushed away the female dancers and hurriedly fixed their clothes, whereas some had to pull their private parts out and put their pants back on.
Leonard also decided to follow along with the flow and swiftly stood up, effectively stopping Sophie from attempting her act.
Sophie was startled by the movement and appeared visibly confused. Due to her anxiety to get the deed over with, she didn’t hear the crashing sound.
’Did I injure Mr. Vincent?’ She swallowed a mouthful of saliva nervously, afraid of a possible repercussion.
She crawled over to peek out at the small light, only to notice Leonard and the others seemed to be concentrating on another subject.
Amidst her dazedness, Shirley and Sirena had already approached her.
"Get up quickly, Sophie," Shirley said gently.
Sirena assisted Sophie in getting up and explained, "A commotion occurred, and everyone seemed alerted."
"What kind of commotion?" Sophie’s face was slightly pale when she raised the question.
She had mustered up her courage to perform the deed, but she couldn’t even get to the final act when their new owner had abruptly gotten up. ’So we don’t have to serve the new owner yet?’
While Sophie listened to the explanation from Shirley about the gist of the situation, Leonard didn’t even pay attention to the Rosalia Troupe.
"Do you think this is related to the previous incident?" Mirelle turned to Caroline and asked.
"I don’t know." Caroline shook her head in response. "All I know is that whatever the crashing sound came from, it was certainly loud enough to pierce through the formation inlaid here."
The banquet was meant to be a relaxing and pleasant moment for all participants. Therefore, a high level formation was placed to ensure they wouldn’t get disturbed whatsoever.
Yet such a high level formation was still bypassed, enabling the loud crash to reach through them. More importantly, this occurred not long after a murder within the Merchant Guild.
The timing was quite close, so it didn’t take long for most of them to be fearful of their life being threatened.
"Everyone, please remain seated!" While the banquet was starting to get out of hand, Wesley took the stage and tapped his walking cane a few times.
Despite the soft tapping, each one of them seemed to resonate in everyone’s heart and mind.
What was alarming was that Leonard felt a calming sensation as well.
"A calming spell." Caroline softly commented. "A high level one at that."
"It’s near the seventh circle power." Mirelle chimed in. Her expression wasn’t so great when she basically confirmed that Wesley was a seventh circle mage.
One direct magic circle above her!
Don’t think that the difference was only a single circle.
In the Mages aspect, one difference of a magic circle was enough to show the immense disparity between the two once a fight broke out.
’He knows a calming spell, huh.’ Leonard wondered what other cards Wesley could be hiding. That kind of calming spell nearly caused him to fall asleep from the drowsiness of relaxation.
Thankfully, he made sure to put one of his hands in his pocket and clench it tightly. His nails caused some deep scratches. He was using the pain to keep himself awake.
Since he didn’t have a magic circle formed, he was extremely fragile in the face of such a spell.
And the reality of the situation had shown that many merchants who were simply wealthy but held many connections through their money had fallen into a deep sleep.
They failed to resist the calming spell, so their body swiftly relaxed.
Once a person was relaxed, and the mind was calm. It was extremely easy to fall asleep.
While some had fallen asleep, the majority of the merchants remained wide awake.
It wasn’t that they were also mages or were at a high level. Instead, they had protective amulets and other accessories that helped them deflect or minimize the calming spell effect.
Sometime later, Wesley calmly stated, "The crash sound is being investigated, but there’s no need to worry. With my presence here, nobody would be harmed."
’Nobody would be harmed in your presence? Then does that mean the deceased guard is a ghost and doesn’t count as someone anymore?’ Leonard nearly wanted to laugh at the statement.
Despite wanting to make such a sneering remark, he ultimately refrained and waited out the situation.
He had no clue what the crash was about either.
With that being the case, many merchants returned to their seats, minus the earlier indecent and immoral acts.
Who would still be in the mood for the pleasure of the flesh?
Actually, no, there were indeed some who forced their female dancers to pleasure them with their mouths to calm their nerves.
The effect of Wesley’s calming spell didn’t last for long. It was only for that brief moment for him to take control of the situation.
Hence, they required some other distraction to relax.
"Don’t you just find them to be an unnecessary body part of a male?" Mirelle’s eyes turned cold because one of them happened to be right in front of their table. She was able to see a full display of a female dancer being shoved close to the merchant’s private part.
Their eyes were widened, and they were clearly gasping for some oxygen to breathe.
"Suck harder!" The merchant hissed and gagged the female dancer.
When Mirelle witnessed the scene, she had an extreme urge to make a move. But she knew her previous actions had displeased Leonard already, so she dared not intervene.
However, she didn’t anticipate that Leonard would outright grab his drinking cup and throw it straight at the merchant’s head.
BANG!
The throwing was equivalent to a professional baseball league pitcher!
It landed accurately on them, and given the force of the throw, it even caused them to begin bleeding.
"WHAT THE HELL!"
Enraged, the merchant stood up to search for the culprit.
At the same time, his sudden action enabled the female dancer to finally catch some air as they coughed repeatedly.
A moment of silence finally occurred when the merchant came to his senses. His sudden yelling had inadvertently interrupted Wesley’s speech and brought everyone’s attention to them.
Although the back of their head was still bleeding from the impact, the merchant no longer had a look of anger.
"I-I was hit at the back of the head." They hurriedly tried to explain his outburst and turned 360 degrees to show the injury.
"I did it because your fucking action is disturbing me from listening to Lord Wesley’s speech!" Leonard scolded thunderously.
