Entangled in Midnight: Mrs Grant wants a Divorce
Chapter 19: Zia Winslow, What Kind of Man Did You Choose?
CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: ZIA WINSLOW, WHAT KIND OF MAN DID YOU CHOOSE?
Adrian Grant glanced sideways at Mia Winslow, noticing Sean Morgan sitting next to Eleanor Winslow, less than half a meter away. He allowed Mia’s small gestures.
"So what are you two up to?" Mia Winslow gossiped with a cheerful smile.
"Eleanor didn’t have lunch, so I came to check on her." Sean Morgan didn’t tell the truth, fearing it would affect Eleanor’s reputation.
Eleanor Winslow watched Mia’s performance indifferently, her gaze shifted aside, meeting Adrian Grant’s eyes.
The man’s gaze unabashedly fell on her, as if enveloping her under his control.
It was like a hunter stalking his prey, calm yet with a chill.
"We haven’t eaten yet either, let’s eat together!" Mia Winslow clapped her hands, happily suggesting, "There’s a five-star private kitchen nearby, and I’m quite familiar with the owner!"
Eleanor didn’t want to go, but before she could speak, Sean Morgan’s natural inclination as a subordinate spurred him to blurt out "Sure."
Eleanor instinctively looked at Adrian Grant.
He was on a date with Mia Winslow, so she might as well go have dinner herself and quickly refuse to be the third wheel between her and Sean!
But instead, Adrian Grant said nothing and took the lead.
Eleanor: "..."
Never mind, considering this senior was kind to her and was recently rejected by her, she’ll go, lest he loses face!
Sean Morgan and Eleanor walked behind, Sean carrying the mindset of interacting more with his crush and whispered to Eleanor, "Isn’t that the girlfriend Lawyer Rhodes mentioned, President Grant’s? They look like a great match!"
The two people walking in front, the man wearing a tailored high-end suit, the woman in Chanel ready-to-wear, even from the back, you could tell they were a couple made in heaven, an ideal match practically written on their heads.
"Not sure." Eleanor said casually.
Sean sensed her lack of interest and wisely shut his mouth.
The private restaurant was member-only, known for being expensive with few patrons.
Mia Winslow naturally sat next to Adrian Grant, ordering food with the demeanor of a hostess inviting guests.
"I didn’t hear wrong earlier, did I? Lawyer Morgan, you do like our Eleanor, right?" Mia Winslow brought up the topic again and indeed felt the man’s displeasure beside her.
No matter how Adrian Grant feels about Eleanor, as long as he’s a man, he couldn’t tolerate another man pursuing his wife, even an about-to-be-divorced wife!
She wanted to make Adrian Grant angrier, more disgusted with Eleanor!
"Your Eleanor?" Sean asked, surprised, looking at Mia Winslow, then at Eleanor.
Mia Winslow smiled and said, "I’m very close with Eleanor!"
Eleanor pursed her lips, silently cursing ’bad luck’ in her heart.
With the same last name, if she claimed not to be close, nobody would believe it!
Seeing he couldn’t fool them, Sean said bashfully, "It’s true I really like Eleanor, but I’m not outstanding enough, Eleanor rejected me."
Adrian Grant leaned back lazily in his chair, arms crossed, scrutinizing Sean with eyes that seemed to evaluate a piece of merchandise.
Sean was completely unaware of President Grant’s attention, glanced at Eleanor and very sincerely added, "But if there’s a chance, I’d still like to try to pursue Eleanor again!"
"You don’t have a chance."
Adrian Grant suddenly spoke up.
It was the first time he talked since entering.
The table fell silent, as though deathly quiet.
"...Huh?" Sean looked at Adrian Grant in shock and confusion.
Mia Winslow patted Adrian Grant’s arm, smiling to smooth things over, "Adrian, you startled Lawyer Morgan."
Eleanor noticed Mia’s hand on Adrian Grant without him avoiding it, silently mocking.
Adrian Grant has a bit of a cleanliness obsession, even his cousins aren’t allowed to touch him, but Mia Winslow could easily make contact, indeed childhood friends are different!
The waiter began serving dishes.
When the pigeon soup was served, the waiter specially pointed to one bowl, "Miss Winslow doesn’t eat scallions, we remembered your preference."
Hearing ’Miss Winslow,’ Eleanor and Mia Winslow both looked at the waiter.
The waiter paused, quickly realizing that both ladies shared the same last name, and placed the bowl without scallions in front of Eleanor.
Then asked Mia Winslow, "You’re also Miss Winslow? Sorry, I haven’t seen you before, I’ll remember next time."
Eleanor noticed Mia’s complexion turned exceedingly grim, couldn’t help but smile, "Sister, didn’t you say you were quite familiar with the owner here? Never been here to eat?"
Mia Winslow struggled to control her emotions, pretended not to hear Eleanor’s words, and sarcastically said to the waiter, "You do remember well."
The waiter said, "Mr. Grant has brought Miss Winslow several times, specifically instructed us, remembering customers’ likes and dislikes is our job."
Mr. Grant...
Sean and Mia Winslow both turned to look at Adrian Grant.
Adrian Grant calmly drank his soup, as if the words ’Mr. Grant’ had nothing to do with him.
His surname is Grant; if it truly didn’t concern him, he wouldn’t be so calm!
Recalling Adrian Grant’s previous special attention and behavior towards Eleanor at the company, Sean had a vague guess.
He widened his eyes in shock, unable to calm down for a long time, at this moment even afraid to look at Eleanor.
He had previously told Eleanor that Adrian Grant and Mia Winslow were a good match... Oh my god!
"I-I’ll go to the restroom, excuse me!" Sean practically fled.
After Sean left, Eleanor put down her soup spoon, the porcelain clinking with a crisp sound, like it was hitting the heart’s tip.
Eleanor looked at Adrian Grant impassively.
Adrian Grant sneered lightly, "Zia Winslow, look at the kind of man you choose."
