Chapter 714: Chapter 714: This kind of man doesn’t deserve to have your child!
“Chi Yue… Yueyue…”
“Sister-in-law, where are you?”
The clear voice approaching entered Chi Yue’s ears, pulling her thoughts back to the present.
She responded to the shouts above with a trembling voice, and not long after, the sound of footsteps neared, soon followed by Nan Bingyu’s howling and wailing voice.
Chi Yue was rescued and brought up, but on the way to the hospital, she fell into unconsciousness once again.
In her haze, she heard Nan Bingyu crying like a child, along with someone sobbing quietly beside her.
“So… so noisy…”
All sound disappeared, and Chi Yue drifted back into peaceful sleep.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw a tall figure sitting in front of her bed, holding her hand and looking down; she couldn’t see his expression.
But she could feel the grip on her hand growing tighter and tighter.
Chi Yue frowned, attempting to pull her hand back, but to her surprise, she awoke the man.
The man looked at her, their eyes met, and Chi Yue’s frown deepened because she could see that the dark circles under his eyes were pronounced, not something that could have formed overnight.
She wanted to ask something, but remembering how he had taken her back without a word, she pursed her lips and turned her face away from him.
“Why did you come back?” Her tone was indifferent, causing him to panic for a moment.
Sensing her coldness, Fu Rongyin’s grip unconsciously tightened, and he opened his mouth to say something, but found his throat to be tight, utterly unable to produce a sound.
The door to the ward swung open, and Nan Bingyu suddenly shouted, “What are you doing here? How dare you still have the face to see her!”
Nan Bingyu shoved the door wide open, “Get out now, just leave!”
Nan Bingyu’s voice was so loud that it made Chi Yue turn to look at her.
Nan Bingyu’s face was clouded with gloom, and her eyes bore into Fu Rongyin as if she wished to tear him to pieces.
A flicker of confusion crossed the bottom of Chi Yue’s eyes.
But Nan Bingyu’s attention was all on Fu Rongyin, she didn’t notice Chi Yue waking up, and seeing that Fu Rongyin didn’t move, she intensified her tone.
“If you don’t want Yueyue to hate you, it’s best you never appear in front of her again. Or is it that you want her to know that because of you, she lost a child?”
Finally, Fu Rongyin’s expression changed completely.
And so did Chi Yue’s.
Remembering the scene in the trap, Chi Yue clenched the bedsheets tightly, “Xiao Yu…”
Nan Bingyu, who a second ago was glaring furiously at Fu Rongyin, became anxious in an instant, rushing to her side in just a few strides, “You’re awake? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?”
Chi Yue’s lips were tightly pressed, the question in her heart not finding its way out.
Seeing her silence, Nan Bingyu became more anxious, “Are you feeling unwell anywhere? I’ll call the doctor over…”
Just as she turned her head, Chi Yue grabbed her hand.
With tears welling up in her eyes, “Xiao Yu, did I… have a miscarriage?”
A pang of pain struck Nan Bingyu’s heart, and she directed her anger at Fu Rongyin, “It’s good that you miscarried. A man like him doesn’t deserve to have you bear his child!”
Chi Yue’s vision darkened; clearly, she was struggling to accept this reality.
Upon reflection, she realized there had been signs of her pregnancy; her periods had always been regular, but she hadn’t had one for almost two months. However, she had been too preoccupied with Fu Rong’s business to pay attention, which led to her discovering the pregnancy only after the miscarriage happened.
The more Chi Yue thought about it, the harder it became to forgive herself.
If only she had paid a little more attention to herself, none of this would have happened.
Her slender hand clutched the blanket tightly, wrinkling it into a ball, but she did not let go.
Nan Bingyu felt terrible all over, “Yueyue…”
“Xiao Yu, leave for a moment,” said Chi Yue.
“But…”
“Go out, I need to speak with him.”
Nan Bingyu glanced at Fu Rongyin and then left the room.
The door closed, leaving only the two of them in the ward.
Chi Yue took a deep breath, trying to make her voice sound as calm as possible, “Why have you suddenly remembered now? Weren’t you the one who had forgotten about me?”
