Ethereal World: Vicious Cannon Fodder's Immortality Road
Chapter 895: Using Xiao Nian’s Slime Skill
CHAPTER 895: USING XIAO NIAN’S SLIME SKILL
As usual, Xiao Mei and Xie Xie were responsible for detecting the presence of the Storm Rocs using the Spirit Bees and golden baby scorpions. Huan Huan and Zhizhi were in charge of protecting them. Meanwhile, Xiao Lan was tasked with summoning snowflakes to freeze the surrounding air, making it difficult for the Storm Rocs to move. Feng Huang and Tian Tian combined their powers, water and lightning respectively, so that their explosive synergy caused the Storm Rocs struck by them to scream in pain.
Meanwhile, Hong Zuan’s red thunder lightning combined with his venomous fangs made for a deadly assault against the Storm Rocs. Each strike was like a guaranteed hit; one attack, one injured.
Bing Xue had initially joined the battle but later retreated. These Storm Rocs were enough for Hong Zuan and the others to handle. Instead, he focused his gaze on Shenlian Yingyue’s slender figure, who was deeply immersed in trying out a new skill.
Xiao Nian was the most relaxed among them. As the king of slimes, she simply had to control the slimes to attack the Storm Rocs while she stood beside Shenlian Yingyue.
The slimes’ abilities had many versatile functions. They could act as acidic secretions, capable of melting flesh, armor, and even metal on contact. They could use digestive engulfment, partially or fully engulfing prey, drowning and dissolving them slowly. There were also toxic splatters that sprayed corrosive slime over a wide area.
Most importantly, after Xiao Nian’s evolution, she had acquired the ability to summon slimes in three elemental forms: Electric Slimes, which delivered paralyzing shocks; Frozen Slimes, which froze prey on contact; and Explosive Slimes, which detonated with a corrosive burst.
As Xiao Nian’s master, Shenlian Yingyue naturally had access to some of her abilities. Since they had formed a soul contract, she could use the skills of her own beast companions.
Until now, Shenlian Yingyue had never used the skills of her companions. But today, she decided to give it a try.
She chose Xiao Nian’s slime skill. With a flick of her finger, two Frozen Slimes were summoned. They shot forward like icy bullets and froze two Storm Rocs in less than the blink of an eye.
"Wow, Master, you’re more powerful than me when using my skill!" The scene left Xiao Nian wide-eyed with admiration.
"You flatter me, Xiao Nian," Shenlian Yingyue replied with a helpless smile. The others may not have known, but she was well aware, although her overall strength surpassed that of her companions, beasts, their skills in specific areas were on another level altogether.
She glanced at everyone around her, and her lips twitched involuntarily. It was undeniable; each of them possessed extraordinary strength and unique abilities, showcasing a variety of powers that pushed the Storm Rocs into an increasingly desperate situation.
If she hadn’t ordered them to refrain from killing, these Storm Rocs would have been long dead by now.
Ten minutes later, the one hundred Storm Rocs collapsed, nearly breathless. They had clearly surrendered. In truth, they could have called upon reinforcements from their clan to retaliate, but after witnessing the unmatched abilities of Shenlian Yingyue’s group, they quickly abandoned the idea of revenge.
Forget it. These people hadn’t killed their comrades or kin. They were powerful, yes, but not arrogant. And how many in the world would spare their enemies when given the chance?
In the past, whenever the Storm Rocs had entered battle, many of their clan members had fallen to the ruthless blades of their enemies. But today, even though they had been defeated miserably, there was no real danger to their lives.
"We surrender," a Storm Roc, who appeared to be the leader, announced weakly.
"You’re smarter than that old man Li Bing," Wang Pei Zhi remarked, patting the dust off his pants. Though he nodded with satisfaction, there was still a trace of dissatisfaction in his expression. He hadn’t yet had the chance to test the nuclear bomb he had invented using knowledge from Earth.
"Pei Zhi, calm down. I already told you not to use those nuclear bombs on random people." Shenlian Yingyue wiped the sweat from her forehead as she seemingly read through his thoughts. She gave his shoulder a gentle pat.
"But when will I ever get to test it? You wouldn’t let me use it on Earth or the Rainrealm Continent. And now here, I can’t either?" Wang Pei Zhi pouted, his lips trembling in disappointment. Shenlian Yingyue was the only one he truly cared to listen to. If anyone else had tried to stop him, he would’ve thrown a bomb that smelled like dung at them long ago.
He was obsessed with weapon crafting and refining to the point of madness. Every single piece of knowledge he’d learned about weapons from Shenlian Shashan and the libraries in the Ethereal Small World had to be tested at least once after he finished a new invention.
"Who asked you to invent such dangerous and destructive things instead of something practical?" Shenlian Yingyue’s lips twitched again. Was this a joke? If she had let him test a nuclear bomb on Earth, the governments, ancient martial arts families, and hidden powerful individuals would be instantly alerted. They wouldn’t just let her go freely afterward.
She had never underestimated the existence of all beings under the sky and above the heavens. So what if she was a cultivator? So what if Earth seemed to be a place filled with weak mortals and fragile races?
Who knew whether dragons and phoenixes were hiding among mortals on Earth? She didn’t even want to imagine how deep the waters on Earth ran; nor did she want to unearth the universe’s mysteries with her current strength.
Sensing her depth of wisdom, everyone nodded in agreement and admiration.
Even though Jun Mu Yang, Xiong Zi Ying, and Wang Pei Zhi didn’t share the same bloodline or soul contract with her and couldn’t read her thoughts, they could still tell she had just gained some sort of enlightenment.
"Yingyue, then when can I test it?" Wang Pei Zhi asked again, shaking her arm like a child begging for candy. His large eyes blinked rapidly in expectation.
"Don’t give me that look." A layer of goosebumps rose on her arms. If Xiao Mei or Xiao Nian made that expression, they’d look cute and pitiful; but Wang Pei Zhi was a tall and burly man!
"I never said you couldn’t test it. Once you find someone truly deserving of death, feel free to bombard them with your nuclear bomb," she said at last, compromising helplessly and praying she wouldn’t regret her decision.
"Got it! Thank you, bestie!" Wang Pei Zhi hugged her excitedly but quickly let go once he sensed a wave of murderous intent directed at him, or rather, from her men.
Wang Pei Zhi always remembered her words. She had told him once: not every villain deserves death, and not every hero deserves praise. Not every enemy needed to be killed. Every individual deserves a second chance to change and become better. Everything should be judged based on the situation.
