EX-Grade Ability Card: Tower Ascension with My Absolute Restoration
Chapter 108: Picking a Fight with an Invisible Opponent
Despite using newly acquired skill though, Azrael still struggles to find the location of the monster guarding the greatest treasure of the second floor, the entirety of the stone mountain barring his vision from even getting a hint of this mysterious monster's exact location, making him realize that this fight will be far harder than he ever expected, for a completely different reason than he had anticipated before arriving here.
Having no other idea, the young man then uses his Demonic Energy to create a flying sword once again, boarding it to scout through the skies wondering if he can see something that might give him a clue to where his target is, an idea that is yet another wrong decision as he found out about something the hard way.
No matter how much he ascends to the skies of the second floor, the ruinous effects of whatever skill or ability the treasure guardian of the second floor is using still directly affects him the moment that he enters the airspace above a certain area within the stone mountain, making him grit his teeth as numerous times did he almost fell flat into a blood pool on the ground before he wastes his time once again trying to dispel the disastrous effects that this mountain has on him.
'What the fuck am I supposed to do here huh?' after even going as far as trying to test his limit using his Immortal Energy to sustain himself without falling down, Azrael still couldn't help but feel extremely frustrated as the drastic drop on the Immortal Energy as he attempts to roam around the vicinity of the stone mountain is immense, far more than what its regeneration can handle.
[Immortal Energy: 10,700/10,800]
[Immortal Energy: 10,600/10,800]
[Immortal Energy: 10,500/10,800]
[Immortal Energy: 10,400/10,800]
[Immortal Energy: 10,300/10,800]
[Immortal Energy: 10,200/10,800]
[Immortal Energy: 10,100/10,800]
Every step he takes, every moment he spends within the domain of this floor's treasure guardian, his Immortal Energy drops by the hundreds like a droplet of water trying to fill up the void that is once the ocean, the expense of his most prided resource not even that intensively when he was fighting against the boss of the second floor now barely enough just to keep himself alive within the vicinity of this monster he hasn't even seen.
Despite this fact though, along with the frustration he is feeling, Azrael still has that bright smile on his face, his eyes, even with this massive chasm in front of him shines through filled with nothing but hope, and the reason for that?
'It's definitely easier this time around…' pushing himself forward as he watches the Immortal Energy he has falling down a critical value, he thought in his mind as he recalls the despair he felt facing the Fortress Golem for the first time in his life, the sheer pressure from said monster alone more than enough to suffocate him to death for the first few weeks, making him doubt his own strength that allows his old companions to pass through the hellish first floor back then.
Right now though, not to mention suffocating from death, he is even able to walk through the domain of this treasure guardian even despite the difficulties, and not only is he barging into its territory, but he is doing so through his sheer stats and natural power alone, not with the assistance of any skill or techniques he owns.
"Hahahaha!!! All those suffering is definitely worth it!!!" as he feels the blood surging through his veins, along with the pain of his body being pushed past the brink of destruction before being forcibly brought back to complete recovery by his Immortal Energy, the young man shouts out loud laughing in satisfaction, wondering since when was it that his heart beat this loudly fighting a monster.
'It feels like a really long time ago even when it was actually just more than a month…' he thought to himself as he recalls how excited he is fighting against the Fortress Golem for the last time. Of course, while some of this excitement stems from the fact that he is fighting such strong, insurmountable opponent, most of it comes from the fact that even he has the chance to triumph over it.
While he reminisces about those moments, he was interrupted completely as he starts spitting up mouthful of blood, his vision turning blurry again making him realize about the fact that his Immortal Energy is already running out.
Without missing a beat, he immediately turns around in an attempt to get out of this place that is gradually killing even him, who has such absurd ability that practically turns him into an immortal that does not fear death.
'There are a lot more things worse than death… hahaha' of course, while it is true that he is unafraid of such, it is also true that there are far more possibilities that is more terrifying than death, for one being a cripple unable to move even a single part of their body, this in particular something that ascenders like them fear far more than death itself.
As he thought of such thing, Azrael eventually finds himself back to where it begins once more, his body just a few moments away from complete collapse just a few steps away from the domain of the second floor's treasure guardian, a place that is basically a forbidden ground both for monsters and humans of this floor.
"Given another decade, I am fairly sure I can defeat you as well, however, I don't think I have that much time right now…" feeling like someone, something or whatever it is is observing him from the distance, the young man mutters more to himself than anyone else, before with his hand he raises a night-black sword that has an eerie vibes to it, a weapon of terror that will make anyone tremble in fear the moment that they witness it in action.
"I think we should start the actual fight now…."
