CHAPTER 47: AN INSANE PERSON

"So I need to pay a lot to make something like that?" looking at the slightly shorter than average man standing with arms crossed in front of him, Azrael asked as he suddenly realized that he is far from being filthy rich, just the service from forging a good bracer alone being a hefty sum that he need to pay, not to mention the list of materials required to forge what he want piling up more and more.

"Indeed, if you want some standard issue bracer, then there would be no problem with the price since they are one hell of an affordable choice for equipment, as for something that will meet your requirements, well, you need far more expensive materials than just metal and bones lying all around" the head of the smithy said with a troubled look in his face, in fact, also find himself in quite the pinch having to forge something like this, but as a craftsman at heart, he refuses to back away from the challenging task and decided to just roll with it.

’Eitherway, the expenses don’t come from my pocket but this kid’s, so I just have to do my best to give him what he wants’ the blacksmith thought to himself as he finally finished the list of materials required for Azrael’s bracer, the young man’s eyelid twitching from the surprise as the list is almost a foot long, and that is with the blacksmith’s handwriting being relatively small as well.

"A lot of materials there could be found easily in some of the stalls and establishments in the shopping district, there’s only some few troublesome things that you need to hunt for outside... well, you can also post a commission on the Merchant Hall near the Ascension Platform, but while I guarantee that using that can guarantee that you will get the materials you need, it will take a couple of weeks minimum before you receive your item"

The blacksmith explained, making the young man feel like it would be such a hassle to do all these chores, making him hesitate whether he should just buy one of those high-quality standard-issue bracers being displayed in front of the smithy.

"Looks like you’re in a rush huh..." seeing the troubled expression on the young man’s face, the blacksmith pointed out, making the young man nod, his agreement making the blacksmith shake his head as there’s really nothing he can do about this current situation.

"I see, then I would suggest you deal with the thing you need to do first, then try to gather the rarer materials outside before returning here..." the blacksmith suggested, earning a defeated nod from Azrael as there’s really nothing he can do to speed up the collection of the materials he need.

Now going outside the smithy feeling defeated, his sour mood doesn’t last long as he heard some good news in exchange for this slightly disappointing one, the good news coming from the middle-aged store owner he trusted with purchasing the things he needed for the long expedition.

"Hahaha, kid, I already bought more than ninety percent of the things in your list, the rest will be here by tonight, tomorrow morning at the latest..." the middle-aged store owner said as Azrael enters his establishment, throwing a ring towards his direction, the young man’s fast reaction speed allowing him to catch it with ease.

"That spatial ring is on the house, damn good space if you ask me, a hundred and twenty-five cubic meters inside, packed with majority of the things on your list" the store owner pointed out as Azrael starts scanning the content of the spatial ring, finding all the things that are already crossed out in the list inside it.

"Thank you for the hard work, boss, now I just need to wait for the remaining product before I go out" Azrael said with a grateful smile on his face, in his mind praising the ability of this store owner to gather such a large amount of products in record time, a thing that might take him days, if not a couple of weeks to accomplish by him alone.

"Hahaha, no problem no problem, you paid me for it so you deserve the quality goods and fast service but kid... just what sort of place are you going in that you need that shit ton of supplies?" laughing from the young man’s gratitude, the store owner waves his hand in dismissal as if he treats this as not a trouble at all, his tone changing as he reaches the latter part of his words.

"I’m preparing to challenge the second floor’s main quest" Azrael clarifies baffling the middle-aged man, as if he wasn’t wrong with his deduction, he is pretty sure that despite the clear talent of this young man, having hunted such rare monsters based on the things he sold him, he ascended to the second floor not even a couple of weeks ago, and he is already planning to challenge the main quest.

"You’re one hell of an insane person, kid" not really finding anything to say to him though, neither intending to stop nor encourage him, the store owner can only let out such words as he shakes his head, not because he doesn’t feel positive about this young man’s target but rather because he felt like he just couldn’t wrap his head around this at all.

"There’s just a fine line between the realm of geniuses and the domain of insanity, boss" seeing the store owner’s reaction to his announcement, Azrael then replies with a trace of confidence, even pride and arrogance in his tone, making the middle-aged man feel like this person is completely different to the one that always go to his establishment to sell his harvest for the day.

"Hahaha, indeed, that is true, however, only time will tell whether what you are of the two" the store owner laughs impressed at the young man’s rhetoric, despite really feeling like this young man is some sort of lunatic, something in his mind is telling him that this young man will reach places beyond his understanding if he is allowed to grow.
