Ex’s Buddy Steals Her
Buddy 35
Half an hourter, Rosalind watched as a sleek ck Rolls–Royce sped toward them, screeching to a halt right at the entrance of the Wesley Hotel.
The valet approached, offering to help park the car, but Christopher threw open the door, rushing into the hotel without even acknowledging him.
“Have you made up your mind?” Eugene asked.
She nodded slowly. “Yeah, I don’t want to see him.”
There was no use in their meeting.
All they’d do was argue, and even then, there would be no resolution.
Eugene took off his jacket and draped it over Rosalind’s head, then, without a word, swept her off her feet.
Rosalind felt herself lifted, her feet leaving the ground, and instinctively wrapped her arms around his shoulder to steady herself.
Eugene, holding her effortlessly, teased, “You seem to have a lot going on up top, but why are you so light?”
He carried her out of the office, only to run into Christopher, rushing toward them in the elevator.
“Eugene?” Christopher raised an eyebrow in surprise. “You’re here too?”
Eugene tilted his head, smiling. “I’m here with her.”
Rosalind hid beneath the jacket, unable to see anything, but she could clearly feel Eugene’s head resting on her
forehead.
It felt intimately affectionate, like they were a couple.
Christopher’s expression softened slightly as he asked, “What’s wrong with your baby?”
“She’s shy. Doesn’t want to be seen,” Eugene replied smoothly.
Christopher chuckled, “But we’re good friends. We will meet eventually. There’s no need to be shy.”
“Maybe… It’s just not convenient,” Eugene said, his tone unusually suggestive.
It was as if he were hinting at something that had happened between them.
Rosalind, irritated, jabbed her finger into his side.
Eugene winced.“Easy there. Don’t provoke me, or we’ll start right here in the elevator.”
He even made a show of starting to put her down.
Rosalind was surprised, clutching him tighter and burying her face into his chest, suddenly obedient.
Christopher smirked.“Girls get shy. Don’t scare her.”
Eugene scoffed. “She’s no typical girl, trust me. Feisty and sharp, and if I don’t keep her in line now, I won’t hear
the end of itter.”

“I didn’t know she was so fierce,” Christopherughed. “Well, you’d better take care of her. Rosa is more reserved, but I’m sure spending more time with your babe will help her open up.”
Eugene chuckled lightly.“We’ll see about that.
“Wow, you’re moving fast. You were just saying she had barely divorced, and now look at you two, so inseparable?”
Christopher’s smile faded.“I’ve waited long enough. I don’t want to wait anymore.”
There was a hint of mncholy and bitterness in his voice.
It almost sounded convincing.
Christopher raised an eyebrow. “By the way, Eugene, have you seen Rosa around here? She’s staying in this hotel
too.”
Eugene shrugged nonchntly. “I haven’t left my room for days, so no, I haven’t seen anyone.”
Christopher patted him on the shoulder with a grin.“Alright, then, take care of your business. Don’t let me interrupt your fun.”
With that, Christopher left.
As the elevator doors closed, Rosalind’s heart finally slowed to its normal rhythm.
She tried to move, but Eugene stopped her. “Stay still, there are cameras in the elevator.”
When they reached the basement level, he still wouldn’t let her down, saying there were cameras there too.
