CHAPTER 249: THE AWAKENING...

[Warning! Warning! Warning! Warning! Warning!]

[Axel Nomrad has....... &((&(&*^&%&^$^%$%]

[#%%$#%$#%$#%$#%#$%$^&%&^%^&())()()()..........]

The moment Ken Dusker realized that the one named Axel Nomrad had finally died, after all that preparation, so much observation, so much planning, coordination, research, so much pressure and hatred he felt for this one piece of trash, he was like a nightmare of his. So, this maggot had to be killed no matter what. And now, when that almost impossible feat was finally accomplished.

He was filled with immense relief and joy. He growled to himself in excitement, "YES, YES, YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS, I DID IT, I DID IT, I KILLED THAT DAMN SON OF A BITCH."

While Ken Dusker was busy celebrating the death of Axel Nomrad, oblivious to the change in the surroundings, just as the death of Axel Nomrad was announced, the entire area darkened slightly, and black clouds stopped the sunlight from shining upon the whole forest. Lightning cackled in the black clouds. The trees and plants rustled in unison as the cold wind started to blow violently.

Countless creatures residing within the beast forest started howling in a low frequency, which almost sounded like whimpering. A sense of sadness spread throughout the surroundings, as if the world itself was mourning the sadness of its favoured one. The ambushers, including Ken Dusker himself, could feel the sadness overflowing within the surroundings, even invading their own minds.

This in turn utterly infuriated Ken Dusker, who was filled with joy just moments before; he roared in fury as he kicked and stomped the unrecognisable corpse of Axel Nomrad, "DAMN FUKCING BASTARD, WORTHLESS WRETCH, EVEN THE WORLD ITSELF MOURNS YOUR DEATH, WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY, WHY IS IT ALWAYS YOU."

But as he continued to stomp and disfigure the dead body of Axel. A growing sense of impending doom started to affect him, which he ignored with every fibre of his being. Not only him, but also the 20 seekers alongside him who were all from the pro-noble faction, the supremists who believe in the superiority of their lineage and that commoners should remain at the bottom and should never be allowed to rise above in the ranks.

All of them started to feel that same sense of unease, as the surrounding nature seemed to be almost overflowing with sadness. Another sinister howl, bursting with power, resonated from the very depth of the forest itself, where the single strongest creature lay, making their heartbeat quicken in fear.

One of them called out loudly, "Ken, KEN?"

But the Dusker heir seems to be utterly oblivious to the calling of his fellow seekers in crime. So, the person called him again, "Damn it, you fool, stop your childish shenanigans, we need to erase all evidence and leave immediately. RIGHT NOW...."

As the sense of unease continued to grow within them, a strange, unnerving sound started to resound within their minds, like a horn of war, almost like a trumpet to welcome the arrival of something... demonic.

BWAAAARRRRRRRHHH!!

Raaahhhh! Raaahhhh! Raaahhhh!

The long note of the trumpet continued to grow louder. At first, the sound was coming from very, very far away, but now it seemed to be approaching closer and closer. And then it happened, the eyes of the dead body being stomped by Ken Dusker opened wide, the sclera of that eye had turned completely red, the rune symbols were nowhere to be seen, the iris of his eyes turned to slits, as the malevolent eyes looked straight into the eyes of Ken. He immediately stepped back involuntarily; the sense of doom had reached its absolute peak.

The twisted and mashed out remains of Axel’s unrecognisable corpse started wobbling horrifyingly, the cracking of the bones resounded one after another as the body began to somehow turn backwards in time and healing from everything at an impossible speed. All the blood that flowed out from the body of Axel began to flow backwards and enter his body. And eventually, Axel’s body turned back to a perfectly healthy state, and he stood up from the ground. Dusted his clothes slightly, as he had been on a walk in the park, nothing more and nothing less.

His hair colour changed from blue to completely black. Two gray colored horns protruded from the two corners of his forehead, and then he smiled, showing white, sharp teeth; the smile continued to widen unnaturally. The nails on his fingers also grew larger.

As everyone else remained frozen through the entire process, an existential terror so great that it could not be expressed through any amount of words washed over every cell of all of their bodies; a completely dead person had come back alive right in front of their eyes in such an alien method that they were beginning question the reality of the situation itself, and then came the worst part, the appearance of the red sclera of the eyes, the vertical black slit, black hair and horns.

If there were one thing common among every poor or rich human child, then that would be the nightmarish and utterly evil existence of the demons. Parents would tell the tales of their malevolent deeds to every child to scare them into sleep. One of them muttered in despair, tears falling from his eyes, driven by the innate fear of the infamous, evil, and vicious species that has existed on this continent since the dawn of time, the singular enemy of all the races in the continent, the terror of Eldarion.

"The Demons...."

The word was said in such a low whisper that no one would hear it under normal circumstances, but the pin-drop silence allowed every single Seeker in that place to listen to the word perfectly. Of course, they all had that same word in mind and stepped backwards, their legs shaking in fear.

And at that very moment, the demonic figure of Axel Nomrad let out a ghostly laughter that sent chills down the spines of every single one of his ambushers,

"AHH... HAHAHAHAH... AHHHHHH!!"

The sound that came out of his mouth was utterly revolting; it sounded like a beastly, inhumane screech, as if the situation wasn’t already wrong enough as it is. But the demon remained oblivious to the gut-wrenching terror that his ambushers were feeling. Instead, he only laughed, seeing the grey-coloured texts shown in his eyes.

And the mechanical voice of the prime nexus took an abrupt pause, its mechanical voice became slightly alive as it said the following words in a tone of what seemed like an awaited excitement,

[We congratulate you on your awakening, Tyler Cross.]
